Rumors That Tickets To Be Sold At Nipsey Hussle Memorial Service at Staples Center Causes Outrage

TMZ is a news outlet known for being very much in the loop of pop-culture and publishing breaking news as it’s happening. By doing so, they run the risk of getting reliable information from sources, and although they are usually right on point, that wasn’t the case of Nipsey Hussle’s memorial service. They got it all wrong.

According to SandraRose, TMZ said that said that fans would need to purchase pricey tickets in order to attend the memorial service inside the 21,000 seat Staples Center where the Los Angeles Lakers on this Thursday. The same place where Michael Jackson’s memorial service was held in 2009.

TMZ reported that a meeting was held Wednesday with Hussle’s family, Staples Center executives and local police to help plan logistics and security for the event.

Nope, Not Today

But Nipsey’s business partner and family friend, Karen Civil took to Twitter to clear up the report that tickets were being sold to the memorial service.

“I want to officially let @NipseyHussle fans & supporters know there will be NO selling of tickets to his funeral. A lot of incorrect information was released today, please know in the upcoming days and official statement will be made soon.”

Hussle’s body was picked up Tuesday by Angelus Funeral Home to a nearby mortuary as his family prepared his final funeral arrangements.

The 33-year-old rapper, whose real name is Ermias Davidson Asghedom, was shot at his business, a clothing company called “The Marathon Store” on March 31. He died at the hospital. Two others were wounded.

Eric Holder charged with murder

Eric Holder, the shooting suspect, was charged with a single count of murder, two counts of attempted murder and one count of possessions of a firearm by felon.

The rapper released his debut studio album last year, “Victory Lap,” which was nominated for a Grammy award. Prior to that, he released numerous mixtapes dating back more than a decade.
