By now, everyone has probably heard Tiffany Haddish’s bombshell about Sanaa Lathan biting Beyonce. As expected, Sanaa Lathan has adamantly denied the allegations but for some reason, she’s still makin’ an effort to defend herself. For those who missed it, the Love & Basketball star recently stopped by The Talk and, of course, the awkward biting incident became a topic of conversation. This time around, Sanaa did it again.

She skated around the allegations and focused more on her friends’ reaction to all the drama. Although Sanaa initially seemed irritated by Tiffany Haddish’s talkin’, she claims she actually “laughed it off.”

Laughin’ It Off:

According to The Jasmine Brand, Sanaa admitted they thought the whole story was hilarious. “I’ve been in the business a long time. Me and my friends, we laughed our asses off.  We thought it was funny, I mean, it was so absurd. The hashtag #WhoBitBeyonce, it was just this big ‘who done it’. You know, I’ve had lots of rumors of the years and after so many of them you get a thick skin.”

Damage Control:

Shortly after Tiffany Haddish spilled the tea, social media users everywhere began dragging her and, to many people, it seemed like Sanaa was a bit embarrassed. When she was previously asked about the situation, she immediately criticized the upcoming comedian insisting the rumors were “absurd.” However, most people noted that Sanaa didn’t exactly deny the allegations. She seemed to skate around the topic. But like she said on The Talk, she’s learned to take rumors in stride. “I think it’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever been involved with. Thank God I’ve been in this business for 20 years and have had so many rumors about me. They used to devastate me in my 20s, but in order to survive in this business, you just have to let it roll.”

She went on to share her sentiments about Beyonce. Like the adoring Beehive, she loves Beyonce and wouldn’t do something so… odd. “I adore Beyoncé. I would never do anything malicious like that—to her, or to anyone. It’s so bizarre. I thought it was the funniest thing ever that it was a news story. It’s so crazy.”

Fans’ Reaction:

For most fans, Sanaa’s actions are a bit telling. Her continued efforts to try and clear her name only raise questions about what really happened that night after Jay-Z’s concert. Sanaa’s latest interview has garnered reactions from social media users yet again.

But despite Sanaa’s take on the situation, Tiffany Haddish has always kept it real. Even after Sanaa initially spoke out, Tiffany still didn’t back down. During an interview with Hollywood Reporter, the Girls Trip actress confirmed Sanaa was the culprit. She also clarified that it was never her intent to start any drama or ruin Sanaa’s career. “I’m super good friends with her stepmom and her dad (producer-director Stan Lathan), and they were mad at me,” Haddish said. “They were like, ‘Why would you do this to the family? You know, black actresses, you guys have to stick together, it’s so hard for you guys to get work as it is, why would you try to ruin her career?'”

“I didn’t try to ruin her career,” Haddish explained. “I never said her name! I was just trying to say how Beyoncé kept me from goin’ to jail that night. I coulda just shut my whole career down.”

Hmmm… Maybe Sanaa should just take this one as a loss because each time she speaks about it, it only makes things worse.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
