Waiting To Exhale Actor, FINALLY Speaks About His Recent Assault Arrest

Posted On : May 16, 2016

After news broke yesterday (May 15th) that actor, Wendell Pierce, (best known for his roles in “Waiting To Exhale” and in the cable series, “The Wire”), was arrested for simple battery against a man and his girlfriend at an Atlanta hotel, Pierce is speaking out to tell his side of the story, after being released from jail on a $1,000 bond. Pierce’s detail of what actually went down at 3:30 AM during an allegedly heated political argument at the hotel, is drastically different from the account that the the other party gave to police. We’re not sure what’s up with this alleged altercation, but it will be interesting to see how this whole thing plays out once all of the facts are out…

WENDELL PIERCE TELLS HIS SIDE OF THE STORY In his mugshot (shown above), Wendell Pierce's nose and lip are bruised, so one thing that seems true is that there was some type of altercation, but Pierce says a distorted account of what happened was reported. Pierce is a Hillary Clinton supporter and the alleged victims were allegedly Bernie Sanders supporters. It's been reported that Pierce and his girlfriend were having a heated discussion with a man, his girlfriend, and another person in the hallway of the Atlanta hotel when Pierce allegedly attacked them.

Pierce says that he is actually the victim in the situation, NOT the other three people. He says that while they were discussing politics in the hallway, he followed the three people to their rooms as they continued to have the discussion, but that he stayed outside of the room. According to Pierce, that is when they tried to pull him into the room, at which point he was then trying to get away from them and run. [source]
