Ex Allegedly Manipulated Sherri For A Baby & Child Support?
Sherri Shepherd has also alleged that Lamar who convinced her to get a surrogate mother to have their baby, just so he could later get child support checks – which he receives now. At that time, it was reported that after the surrogate became pregnant, Lamar filed for separation in 2014 and Sherri then filed for divorce. She also chose to cut any future ties with their then unborn son. Here’s what was reported at that time:
Sherri has disavowed maternity, claiming her estranged husband Lamar Sally defrauded her when she signed the surrogate documents. She believes his intent all along was to divorce her and then go for child support. –TMZ
It was also reported that Sherri and Lamar Sr. had mixed emotions about the embryos they have in storage. After their divorce, Sherri made it clear that she wanted the embryos destroyed. Lamar was undecided. Yet, according to their divorce settlement, if Lamar ever decides to have the embryos carried to full term (via surrogate), Sherri will not be court-mandated to pay him child support for the other kids.
Sherri and Lamar officially divorced in 2015 and 5 year old son, Lamar Jr., now lives with his dad. To date, Lamar Sr. collects $4,100 in child support from Sherri, who also has another son from a prior relationship.
