In particular, we were wondering what happened to her long lost sister who we hadn’t seen since 1996. Then we realized that most TLC fans never even knew Chilli had a sister. Bam! Introducing Chilli’s sister, Marnet Ali, who now goes by the name, Marni Ali. See the family resemblance? Chilli and Marni share the same father, Abdul Ali. We’re not sure of her exact age, but its been confirmed that Marni is a few years older than her 50 year old baby sis,’ Chilli.
Ironically, Chilli and Marni didn’t grow up together, but they share the same love of music. Marni has been a contemporary gospel artist since the mid 90’s, around the same time TLC was crackin’…
They are now reportedly estranged. Marni revealed, in a Youtube interview, that “the devil” tore them apart, but she expressed that she hopes to reconnect with her sister one day in the near future.

THE SALLY SHOW FOUND CHILLI’S SISTER & FAMILY, CHILLI BREAKS DOWN
Some of you may recall watching the Sally talk show, when Chilli met her father, Abdul Ali; and her siblings, Marni Ali and Hasan for the first time. Neither she, nor her siblings knew of each other until 1996. They got emotional and Marni had the audience crackin’ up with her story about what happened when she first found out that THE ‘Chilli’ of TLC was actually her sister.
FYI: By the time of their Sally appearance, Marni had just landed a record deal with Def Jam Records PRIOR to finding out Chilli was her sister- a move she was later grateful for because she didn’t want anyone to ever think that the only reason she got the deal was because of her famous sister.

Her style is contemporary gospel and leans more toward a neutral feel that can sit well alongside more contemporary gospel artists, like Mary Mary and Kirk Franklin.
