Michael Jackson superfan – who legally changed his name to his idol – is now in the process of changing it back. John Michael Jackson was left horrified after watching documentary Leaving Neverland. The film features two men who accuse the late pop star of child sexual abuse. John Lomas changed his name to “John Michael Jackson” as a tribute to the King Of Pop who he idolized during his childhood.

“I Supported Him Blindly For Years”

John, who is originally from Malvern in the West Midlands, says he believes child actor James Safechuck and choreographer Wade Robson. Both men feature in the documentary and graphically go into detail about the abuse they claim they suffered at Jackson’s hands.

38-year-old John said: “During my childhood I had various obsessions and special interests growing up and one of those has been Michael Jackson.”

“A few years ago I went to LA and soon after that I changed my name to Michael Jackson legally.”

“I have supported him blindly for years and but it has come to a point with everything recently that I’ve thought, ‘no more'”

“There is too much doubt and I’m now left with this name that I need to get rid of.”

“I Want To Put It Behind Me”

John claims having MJ’s name is affecting his future job prospects.

“I’m trying to get into the care profession but every time I do I have to disclose my full name. If I’m going for a job like that it looks really bad that I’ve chosen to change my name to that of an alleged and believed paedophile.”

John says he has always defended his hero against rumors he groomed young boys. But after watching the documentary he says he can’t ignore the allegations any more.

“I just want to put this behind me,” he said. “I can’t have this name hanging above me anymore, I just want a fresh start.”
