SWV’s Coko Reveals Why She’s Divorcing Husband Of 15 Years & Admits She’s ‘Scared’
“Our fairytale has come to an end,” those are the words SWV singer, Coko, painfully had to write online regarding the end of her marriage to her husband of 15 years/drummer, Mike Clemons. Coko took to her website on Monday, to offer her fans a three paragraphed explanation as to why they are divorcing from what appeared to be a very happy marriage.

She first admitted that she thought they’d be together forever, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. However, Coko vowed to handle their divorce like grown folks for the sake of their son and the love that she and Mike both have for each other:
“We always thought we’d be together forever! Through the good, the bad, the ugly, the ups and the downs…we’d still be married. But, things don’t always work out the way we plan or hope. After 15 years of marriage, my husband and I have decided to call it quits. Our fairytale has come to an end. I’ll definitely miss him! But life goes on and I have to make the best of it. I wish him all the best in his future. I pray that he will lack nothing! For the sake of our son we will do our best to co-parent. We’re not enemies, we’re just two people that fell out of love.”
Coko also kept it 100, by admitting she is terrified of what comes next, now that the life she’s known for 15+ years is about to be brand new all over again:
“Life after divorce kind of scares me, but I have to be strong for myself and my son. God got me and I’m surrounded by a great group of family and friends that hold me down. My Village!! I am blessed and highly favored!!❤️ READY FOR MY NEXT!!!👑💖”
Their Subliminal Shade
Meanwhile a few days ago, Mike posted a message about karma being done to those who do others wrong:
Not really sure if Mike’s post is some type of subliminal message about their marriage, but the timing of it made it worth mentioning.
The day after Mike posted his karma meme, Coko posted a meme of her own about ignoring “drama”…
They were also once the couple to consistently share pics of each other on social media. Now, Coko has deleted all photos of Mike from her Instagram page and Mike has reduced his many photos of Coko down to just one collage, which seemed more like a farewell ode to his soon to be ex. Point is: even though there seems to be some tension between the two behind the scenes, they are clearly determined to maintain their composure publicly and handle their differences respectful manner.
