Who could ever forget the many classic lines and characters from the “Friday” movie franchise? There were countless memorable characters and two of them that will forever be a stand-out, are ‘crackhead Felicia’ and the ‘sexy neighbor, Ms. Parker.’ Actresses Kathleen Bradley and Angela Means played the hell outta their supporting roles in that movie, didn’t they?

“Ms. Parker” made “Smokey” (Chris Tucker) and “Craig” (Ice Cube) say “Heeeeey Ms. Parker. How you doin’ Ms. Parker? I wanna (bleep) Ms. Parker.” And she made Bernie Mac’s preacher character almost lose his religion, when she walked out of her house to water the lawn in those barely there Daisy Duke shorts and midriff shirt.

Then there was the hilarious “Felicia,” who was always asking folks to loan her stuff  and even tried to convince “Smokey” to let her “borrow” his car. That’s when she forever became the face of the classic one-liner we all know today as, “Bye Felicia.”

This year (2021) marks the 26th anniversary of “Friday’s” release -yes, it’s been THAT long- and in recent years, “Felicia” and “Ms. Parker” have reunited, damn near looking the same as they did in 1995! The only difference is that in real life, Kathleen and Angela are far from their comical “Friday roles”…and we’re loving it.

Angela Means once shared a photo of herself and Kathleen that gave us “Friday” ’90s nostalgia all over again. As we previously reported, Angela is now the proud owner of her Los Angeles, Ca. vegan cafe. She revealed that the photo was from the time Kathleen passed through her cafe and that her customers also had “Friday” flashbacks when they all yelled out, “Hey Ms. Parker”…

Now here’s the kicker, can y’all believe Kathleen “Ms. Parker” Bradley was 67 years young at the time of the above photo with Angela Means?!! Wow! Below is a photo of her now at 70 years old, and she still looks the same…

What Kathleen Bradley Does Now & How She Feels About A “Friday” Sequel

So what has Kathleen been up to lately you ask? Quite a few things. She has a tell-all book out now and a few years ago, she was not shy about voicing her dislike regarding being left out of the talks of a “Friday” sequel. After rumors surfaced, in 2013, that there may be another “Friday” movie in the works, Kathleen made it no secret that she was not pleased to not have been asked to be a part of it.

Not sure if things have changed regarding a “Mrs. Parker” feature for the rumored upcoming sequel now though.

Speaking of the “Friday” film…as you all know, comedian A.J. Johnson sadly passed away in early September 2021. Though official details of his passing have yet to be released, many of his cast-mates have expressed their deep sadness over his sudden passing, including Angela Means and Kathleen Bradley.

Kathleen shared a photo of A.J. on Instagram and captioned it with:

“Woke up to sad news, today another one of our Friday cast member has taken his flight. AJ Johnson. Rest in heavenly peace my brother.”

Angela shared the following photo of A.J. online and wrote:

“So many memories with A.J. Johnson. At one point in life we were best friends We made one another laugh from the gut.
May God have mercy on his soul.”

 

May A.J. Johnson continue to rest peacefully, after a job well done here on earth.

What Kathleen Bradley Does Now & How She Feels About A “Friday” Sequel

Well, at that time, the sequel had never transpired, but in 2018, the rumors have been spared again. Why? Because as we recently reported, “Friday” co-stars, Ice Cube, John Witherspoon (“Craig’s” dad), and Mike Epps a.k.a. “Day-Day” are cookin’ up something, because a new photo and video have recently surfaced of what appears to be them filming on the set of a new “Friday.” Only time will tell if it’s the real deal though…and we’d love to see “Ms. Parker” and “Felicia” make their comeback in it too. But again, only time will tell.

]]> Who can forget “Felicia” from the film, “Friday?” She was crackhead who told “Smokey” (Chris Tucker) “I need to borrow your car real quick.” After “Smokey” told her ‘no,’ “Craig” (Ice Cube) delivered his classic line that has been re-birthed and is now the go-to catchphrase for anybody working on your last damn nerve- “Bye Felicia.” She is also known for her classic “Friday” line, when she told Ice Cube, “You ain’t gottuh lie Craig.” Well, not only are y’all gonna trip out when you see what “Felicia” a.k.a. actress/comedian, Angela Means, is doing these days, but also when you see the incredible feat her now famous son has tackled.

What “Felicia Is Doing Now

“Felicia” is now the proud owner of Jackfruit Cafe,’ which offers and all-vegan soul food menu that helps to keep the body energized and clean. Her cafe is located on Crenshaw Blvd. in Los Angeles and Angela Means is very hands-on with her business.

On any given day, you will walk right in there ad see her behind the counter pleasantly helping out her customers, many of whom are pleasantly surprised once they realize that “Felicia” is the one smiling back at ’em. By the way, word on the Old School curb is that the vegan soul food there is DELICIOUS. So on any given day, you may walk in and see celebrities frequented her cafe also, including Tiffany Haddish who recently dropped by.

She LOVES her cafe and she lives what she preaches-a true vegan lifestyle, which probably explains why she’s barely aged since we saw her in “Friday” 23 years ago! See WHO HER SON IS below…

“Felicia’s” SON Is Making MAJOR Moves!

As we previously reported in 2016, we told y’all that Angela Means’ then 20 year old son was probably on his way to being a wealthy brotha, who was becoming just as popular as his mom’s when the classic “Friday” comedy was released. Welp, that was then and this is ow…Angela can officially say that she is the VERY proud mother of the Indianapois Colts NEWSET QUARTERBACK! Yep, y’all read that right, “Felicia’s” now 22 year old son was signed to the Colts roster as a QB in December 2017! Both Angela and his pops, Brad Kaaya Sr., couldn’t be more proud.

The Colts website summed up Brad’s career best:

The Indianapolis Colts…signed quarterback Brad Kaaya to the 53-man roster off of the Detroit Lions practice squad. […] Kaaya, 6-4, 215 pounds… was originally selected by the Lions in the sixth round (215th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. He participated in the team’s 2017 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 2. Kaaya was claimed by the Panthers off waivers the next day.

Collegiately, Kaaya started all 38 career games he played in at Miami (FL) from 2014-16 and completed 720-of-1,188 passes for 9,968 yards with 69 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. He finished his Hurricane career as the all-time passing leader in school history. As a junior in 2016, Kaaya served as the team’s starting quarterback for the third straight season and finished with a career-best 3,532 passing yards and 27 touchdowns compared to just seven interceptions. He became the first player in program history to register over 3,000 passing yards in three consecutive seasons.

During an interview, he credited his mother and father, Brad Sr. for his amazing childhood and their efforts to raise him. “My mom did anything to make my future better and my childhood better than what she had growing up in a farm with a big family, kids running everywhere, a lot of different issues,” Kaaya said.

It’s always great to see a celeb from the Old School living well and doing what they love. We’ll always remember the lasting impression “Felicia” left on us and now we’re grateful for Angela Means doing her part to help us get our health on point.
