Though the brotha was only 51 years young, he’d been battling  a series of health issues in recent years.

Unfortunately, Black Rob reportedly died today (Saturday, April 17, 2021) from kidney failure, which he is said to have been battling for a long while.

His friend, New York radio personality DJ Self, broke the news of Black Rob’s passing on social media:

”Lord knows i tried to get help …… I’m sad to say RIP to Black Rob.”

In recent days, DJ Self was with Black Rob as the rapper neared what we now know were clearly his last days. It’s heartbreaking, but Self was dedicated to using his platform to let fans witness the condition his friend was in. He captioned one video post with, “Black Rob speaks!!!! I feel it’s better you hear from him.”

In the video, Black Rob shared that he’d been struggling with health issues for the past five years, which included several strokes and other health battles. At one point in the video, Rob seemed tired of enduring all that he was going through, as he transparently confessed, “I need some rest, man. Really, man, I need some rest.” According to reports, Black Rob was also allegedly homeless toward the end of his life, which he appeared to reference in the video below as well.

Black Rob Paid Tribute To DMX From His Hospital Bed, Days Before He Passed

On April 9th, approximately one week before Black Rob passed away, DJ Self shared a video of Rob from his hospital bed, as he paid homage to the late Ruff Ryders rap legend, DMX. X sadly passed away at age 50 that same day  after complications from a drug overdose days earlier. At that time, DJ Self also urged fans to keep Black Rob in their prayers, urging him to “Get well man Please people out there take care of yourself BR was one of the greats Had NY on his back like Whaooo.”

It’s unclear if Black Rob was still pursuing music after leaving Bad Boy Records years ago. However, he did reunite with Diddy and the rest of the Bad Boy camp in 2016 for the “Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour.”

Our deepest condolences to Black Rob’s family and loved ones. He’s no longer in pain. Rest well king.

Unfortunately, after Shyne’s 10 year incarceration, following that infamous New York nightclub shooting that he, Bad Boy Records CEO, Sean Diddy Combs, and Jennifer Lopez were engulfed in in 1999, Shyne’s rap ambitions came to an end. He was deported back to his homeland of Central American country of Belize, where he still resides today

Now, Shyne has made a 180 degree change in his life. He’s a proud family man and devoted dad to his precious little girl. He’s also hella proud of the historical accomplishments his Pops has made, along with the rest of their highly influential family, that most of his fans were unaware of.

Remember when Bad Boy Records artists, 112, had us singing about “Cupid” and “Peaches n’ Cream” and such? Those were the days when R&B groups still existed and when Diddy was Puffy, with a knack for turning would-be misfits into highly sought after stars. Welp folks, fast forward to today and the only thing that’s misfitted when it comes to 112 now, is a sense of unity among them.

Group member and lead singer, Slim, has just aired out all of their dirty laundry and it looks like they have a LOT of loads to wash, before their laundry is cleansed.

It was just recently that 112 fans were hella excited that Mike, Daron, Q, and Slim were reuniting for The Bad Boy Tour. As of August 2018, that reunion done crumbled quicker than Diddy could say, “I thought I told you that we won’t stop…thought I told you that we won’t stop.”

According to Slim, 112 ‘stopped’ damn near before they restarted. In fact, Slim has just announced that the group is splitting up and that only half of them will be together going forward.

In a wordy online message to their fans, Slim revealed the ongoing drama among them. He spoke of betrayal, lawsuits, and evidently pain. After spending most of their lives together in an R&B brotherhood, it’s clear to see that the brotha is hurt by all of the madness and mayhem goin’ down with his group members.

In his post, he shared text messages that seemed to confirm the groups recent split, stating:

“People these texts were on March 27th-28th. Look at our shows with the timeline it makes sense. For a person to wanna sue the same person who helped you when you were at your worst… no we aren’t bros… be who you are and proud! Don’t hide your fangs and rattle. 🐍🐍🐍 Easy to lie to others, I will expose your ACTIONS. How are you entitled to a brand you’re not loyal to??Hard to excuse when it happens over and OVER AGAIN. Your management/lawyer knows you a few years.. I’VE KNOWN YOU MOST OF YOUR LIFE! Will answer questions at the appropriate time…stay tuned.”
