In a recent interview, 50 Cent dropped some interesting gems about what reportedly went down behind the scenes of the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show. And apparently, it was all surrounding the decisions Jay Z’s Roc Nation was making in an alleged attempt to do 50 dirty.

50 Cent’s near-exclusion from the 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show– which he ultimately appeared in alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar– almost really happened. According to 50, Jay-Z’s Roc Nation tried to stiff-arm him out of the lineup, but it was his ally, Eminem, who ultimately stepped up for him in a major way.

The Drama Unfolds:

In his interview with The Hollywood Reporter, 50 Cent revealed that Roc Nation, which is helmed by Jay-Z, attempted to give him the cold shoulder for the Halftime Show performances. The star-studded lineup seemingly did not include 50 Cent as a part of the initial plan. However, things took a surprising turn when Eminem, a long-time collaborator and friend of 50, refused to perform without him:

50 Cent recounted, “Eminem wouldn’t do it (The 2022 Super Bowl Halftime Show) without me.”

Realizing the potential loss of having a rap legend like Eminem on stage, Roc Nation had no choice but to bring 50 Cent on board:

“Roc Nation. Yeah, they didn’t want me there. Eminem wouldn’t do it without me. That’s how I ended up on the show because he was not coming if I didn’t do it. When that happens, you go, “Damn, so you just lost Eminem because you didn’t bring 50? Damn. All right. Bring 50 then.” But if it was up to them, they would not have me there. I’m the surprise. I’m not on the bill at all. But they couldn’t get Em to do it without me.”

Even though 50 didn’t say Jay Z’s name directly, everybody knows Jay’s name is synonymous with the company he owns–Roc Nation and it’s Super Bowl Halftime Show lineups ever since the brand took over production of the SB shows in 2019, just sayin.’ But there’s more…

The Rivalry Reignites:

For years there have been whispers about a possible tension between Jay Z and 50 Cent. And after hearing his side of the story about his alleged Super Bowl appearance that almost didn’t happen, that likely explains why he’s been throwing a few verbal jabs Jay Z’s way lately, much like he did in one of his more recent Instagram posts seen below…

50 Questions Beyoncé’s Controversial Wins:

In addition to the sage with Jay-Z, 50 Cent didn’t shy away from weighing in on the Grammy Awards…and Jay’s wife, Beyoncé. Taking a swipe at the musical accolades, he boldly stated that the trophies have “ZERO VALUE.” But that wasn’t all—he also raised suspicions about Bey’s multiple wins, suggesting an inside job. “I don’t know who’s voting in that s***,” he mused, adding, “It’s crazy. Whoever they are, they’re off at Beyoncé’s house because she has 30 of them.”

Neither Jay Z, nor Beyoncé have spoken out about 50’s allegations, but we’ll keep you all posted if they do.

Now that Vice President Kamala Harris has made it official– that she is running for President of the U.S., Tina Knowles is standing beside her wholeheartedly. So much so, that the mom of Bey’ and Solange is now using her social media pages to repeatedly call out Donald Trump and his political antics, as well as to show full support of VP Harris. And as y’all can imagine, plenty of folks have something to say about Tina –the mother of one of the biggest music celebs in the game– being brave enough to loudly speak her mind. In other words, they’re now seeing that Mama Tina handles these topics a lot different from her eldest child, Bey’ (at least publicly speaking, but we’ll explain that in a sec.’).

In one Instagram post, Tina re-shared the sentiments of comedian/radio personality, DL Hughley, who shared a meme slamming Trump and calling out those who support Trump’s oftentimes questionable tactics and behaviors. The meme read as follows:

So as you can see I Love Old School Music family, although Beyoncé doesn’t necessarily speak publicly about a lot of these issues, she is clearly the product of a bold woman who is not afraid to speak her mind. There’s a new wax figure at a popular museum, and let’s just say it’s giving “Harpo who dis?” vibes. And if you’re part of Beyoncé’s die-hard ‘Bey-hive’ fan-tribe, then you’re probably really confused and highly heated about said wax figure. So much so, that you were likely online either roastin’ the hell out of it, or slamming the museum altogether for creating such a disastrous image of the “Texas Hold ‘Em” songstress. However, even those of us who aren’t necessarily part of the “Bey-hive” coalition are still ‘ringing the alarm’ about this odd wax rendition of Bey’…it’s that bad.

On July 4, 2024, Beyoncé began trending on social media after photos of the new wax figure went viral…and apparently, the Grévin Museum in Paris is to blame for the confusion. The Bey’ figure has turned out to look more like a woman of a different race with different facial features altogether, and it’s being called out online as a white-washed image of Beyoncé. As you can see, this wax figure looks nothing like Bey’, and some would even argue that it looks more like the museum attempted to envision and ultimately create an image of what they think “Becky” from Beyoncé’s hit song, “Sorry,” actually looks like instead. Beyoncé recently took to Instagram to share an intimate look at her real, natural hair. The Houston-bred singer gave fans a glimpse into her hair care routine, using her own Cécred product line.

In an Instagram video (below) titled “Cécred Wash Day,” Beyoncé addresses the misconception that everyone who wear wigs don’t have healthy and/or long hair. Sitting in her stylist, Neal Farinah’s, chair, she undergoes a wash and press, showcasing the transformative effects of the Cécred hair care line on her natural tresses.

“Now that Cécred is known for the quality and what it does for your hair, I think it’s about time I show y’all what it does for my hair,” Beyoncé says in the video. She emphasizes the importance of maintaining the health of her hair throughout 25 years of putting blonde hair color on her natural hair, and of course big up’d her entire Cécred team for developing award-winning products.

Things were seemingly all good just a week ago…but fast forward to present-day, and the loving marriage of Tina Knowles-Lawson and her husband/actor, Richard Lawson, has gone from good to non-existence, apparently.

It’s now been discovered that Mama Tina a.k.a. –Beyonce’s and Solange’s moms– has just filed divorce papers as of Wednesday, July 26, 2023. And get this…she listed the date of separation as Tuesday, July 25, 2023, sighting “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for her divorce request. This comes after the soon-to-be ex-lovebirds’ eight years of marriage and two years of dating prior to.

According to reports, Tina is asking the judge to deny any potential requests for spousal support from both sides. She’s also reportedly requesting that her name be legally changed from Celestine Lawson (Celestine is her first name since birth name), to Celestine Knowles- the same surname as her ex-husband/father of her kids, Matthew Knowles.

Many Fans Shocked…Some Not, Here’s Why

To some, Tina’s latest divorce filing isn’t a shock. However, for most of Tina’s and Richard’s fans the divorce news is on ‘I-know-you-lying!!’ levels. And there are valid reasons for both.

After neither of them have shared photos of themselves together online in months…just a week prior to the divorce filing on July 17, 2023, they made a rare appearance together at the LA Premier of actor, Glynn Turman’s, documentary, “The Life Of Glynn Turman”…and they looked happy as hell together!

Their LA outing seemingly shut down the prior separation rumors altogether. But clearly, that move was just a ‘happy front’ for the cameras, because obviously ‘everything ain’t all good’ in their marriage. If it was, then Tina Knowles-Lawson wouldn’t have jetted over to divorce court to legally tell Richard *in the words of her daughter, Bey’* ‘To the left, to the left…everything you own is in that box to the left’…well, not in those exact words of course, but y’all catch my drift.

We love us some Marvin Gaye, here at ILOSM…but by now, we’ve all heard about the many struggles that plagued the late icon’s life. Some of them were not his doing and some of them were caused by his own personal demons, as Marvin himself has even confessed. But there’s one vital part of his life that many do not know, and that is the reportedly true biological bloodline of he and Anna Gordy’s (Berry Gordy’s sister) adopted son, Marvin Gaye III. It has been revealed, in the aforementioned biographies, that the reportedly REAL mother of Marvin Gaye III is actually actress, Denise Gordy, 71 (pictured below), the niece of Berry Gordy and Marvin Gaye’s then-wife, Anna Gordy. Denise was said to be just 15 years old at the time of Marvin III’s birth in 1965, which means Marvin Gaye risked being jailed for statutory rape, had anyone found out back then.

Beyonce’s and Solange’s dad, Mathew Knowles, has long ago proven himself to be a complex individual. He’s made mistakes (cheated on his now ex-wife, Tina Knowles Lawson), he’s molded one of the most dynamic superstars of today’s generation, he’s had love affair kid(s) outside his previous marriage to Tina, and he also dedicates much his time toward helping others in need within his hometown of Houston, TX. So…as you can see, the brotha has many layers from which he gets judged by…but quite frankly, don’t we all? It’s called being human, even though it does not negate any of the wrongdoing we may have done.

Anywho, apparently in 2018 Mathew was on a mission to shed a much needed spotlight on the ignorance of colorism in America. In doing so, he received backlash…as well as praise. Why? Because as we previously reported, he’s been brutally honest about his inflictions with colorism, while simultaneously holding a mirror up to America, forcing the nation to embrace it’s wrongs, so to speak. As we could expect, with bravery always comes adversity…and for Mathew, he’s received his daily dosage after an interview surfaced.

In an interview with Ebony Magazine, Knowles was promoting his then-upcoming book, “Racism: From the Eyes of a Child.” Aside from admitting that he thought his ex, Tina Knowles-Lawson, ‘was a White woman’ when he first met her, he then went on to discuss why Beyonce’ has had so much success. Simply put, he said it’s because of her light skin. Let Knowles explain in this excerpt from his Ebony interview:

Mathew Knowles: “When it comes to Black females, who are the people who get their music played on pop radio? Mariah Carey, Rihanna, the female rapper Nicki Minaj, my kids [Beyonce and Solange], and what do they all have in common?”

Interviewer: “They’re all lighter skinned.”

MK: “Do you think that’s an accident?”

Interviewer: Of course not!

MK: “So you get it!”

At first glance, hearing a Black man say that about his daughter, may make him seem very shallow and void of substance. But after reading what else Mathew had to say (below), it soon became clear he wasn’t necessarily attempting to sound like a brainwashed coon at all. He was instead shedding light on a very brainwashed state of mind within America that has existed since slavery…

I talk about going to therapy and sharing–one day I had a breakthrough–that I used to date mainly White women or very high-complexion Black women that looked White. I actually thought when I met Tina, my former wife, that she was White. Later I found out that she wasn’t, and she was actually very much in-tune with her Blackness. … I had been conditioned from childhood. With eroticized rage, there was actual rage in me as a Black man, and I saw the White female as a way, subconsciously, of getting even or getting back. There are a lot of Black men of my era that are not aware of this thing.”

It’s understandable that the psychological warfare – which has brainwashed many generations of human beings – is a painful wound to bear for many. However, we can only put a band-aid over it for so long, because even though it’s covered, it’s still bleeding. Therefore, what Mathew is admitting and raising awareness about – the nonsense notion that beautiful women – like Lupita N’yongo, Viola Davis, Lauryn Hill and Gladys Knight, to name a few – are not as ‘beautiful’ as a Beyonce’ is a much needed discussion– not only within the Black community, but it sure is a great place to start.

We all know and love Tina Knowles and Richard Lawson as a couple. Tina oftentimes posts pics of her and Richard in marital bliss, and they are in love! In researching that story, we noticed that Richard’s daughter was linked to a wealthy music family!

Bianca Lawson Is Richard Lawson’s Daughter…

Bianca Lawson’s now a 42 year old actress best known for her roles on Saved by the Bell, Sister, Sister, and The Steve Harvey Show, and most recently in Oprah Winfrey Network drama series, Queen Sugar. But it’s her mom that Richard Lawson married back in 1978.

If Her Mom Doesn’t Look Familiar…

Her face may not be familiar, but Bianca’s mom is the niece of the famed Berry Gordy. Denise Gordy, is the daughter of George and Rosemary Gordy and she’s the biological mother of Marvin Gaye III (born 1966) by Marvin Gaye!

Anna Gordy’s niece, Denise Gordy – the woman who was allegedly underaged when she reportedly gave birth to Marvin Gaye III, the ‘adopted’ son of singer, Marvin Gaye, and his then-wife, Anna Gordy.

Anna Gordy’s and Marvin Gaye’s pregnancy/birthing scandal was supposedly pre-arranged by the couple, because Anna — who was 17 years older than husband, Marvin — reportedly couldn’t conceive by that time.

According to the biographies, Anna Gordy — with her husband’s approval — faked her pregnancy for the media and claimed that she’d given birth to Marvin III. However, years later Marvin Gaye revealed in his biography, “Divided Soul: The Life of Marvin Gaye,” to author David Ritz, that their son, Marvin III, was really “adopted.” The book released in 1985, a year after Marvin’s death. According to several reports, that’s when Marvin Gaye III learned his true identity – that allegedly: his biological mother, Denise Gordy, is not his ‘cousin’; his ‘adoptive mom,’ Anna Gordy, is his great-aunt; and his ‘adoptive father,’ singer Marvin Gaye, is his biological father…allegedly.

Thus, Marvin Gaye III is actually the (alleged) biological brother of “Queen Sugar” actress, Bianca Lawson. Bianca is the daughter of legendary actor, Richard Lawson. Richard is the husband of Tina Knowles, and the step-dad of Beyonce and Solange! Ain’t that some tea…or shall we say, some “Lemonade” for ya?!!

TONY! TONI! TONE’!’s D’WAYNE WIGGINS IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MANY DESTINY’S CHILD HITS

Dwayne Wiggins is the man behind many Destiny’s Child’s hits. Like we said, if you know ’80s ’90s R&B, you certainly know D’Wayne, even though you may have just learned his real name today. Nope his name ain’t Tony, Toni, nor Tone’, but D’wayne along with his brother, Raphael Saadiq, and their cousin,  Timothy Christian Riley, helped created the hits for all three of those namesakes.

It all started when Gyrl Time signed to D’Wayne’s and Terry-T’s production company, Grass Roots Entertainment, in 1994 (they’re albums were distributed through Columbia Records). Beyonce’s father, Matthew Knowles, who founded and managed the group, had allowed Dwayne and Terry-T to groom the the girls with their expertise in music. Here’s what Dwayne revealed about that to Post News Group about that time:

Together, [Wiggins] and Butler worked hard to develop the young singers. When asked what it was like working with a superstar, Butler said, “Beyoncé, then age 14, was like a little sister to me who needed some guidance. She was very talented with a great work ethic.”
