LL Cool J’s 1990 “Mama Said Knock You Out” lyrics went straight to the heart (and his fists). During an interview, the rapper gives a detailed account of what actually happened between him and Jamie Foxx.

While on the Any Given Sunday set with Jamie, things got a bit too real during one of the scenes. LL Cool J spoke up about the situation during an episode of Drink Champs.

Nevertheless, in the 1999 sports drama ,Any Given Sunday, LL told the hosts how Jamie ended up on the floor. Apparently, similar to how Jamie described the situation during one of his stand-ups, LL was in full-character mode.

The rapper states that Jamie didn’t like how aggressive he was being toward him. According to LL, Foxx actually asked him to ease up. However, LL didn’t take his request seriously. Thus, the next scene…

LL says he didn’t back off at all. However, that allegedly caused Jamie to react.

“And, then, I don’t know why, but he thought it was a good idea to punch me in my face. This wasn’t scripted. I’ma keep it 100 with you. You want me to keep it 100 — I’m gonna keep it 100. He punched me in my face.”

When that happened, LL asked Jamie why he would do that. And after a few fighting words between the two, Jamie got laid out.

“He had his helmet on, and he was turned to the side,” LL tells the Drink Champs hosts. “He said, ‘I told you before. Don’t put your hands on me. Period!’ Yo, when he said that, my left hand grabbed the face mask and, as I was pulling his helmet off, my right hand was punching his chin. This was like ‘POW!’ And then he was laying there and I thought he was faking because he was sleep!”

Jamie later filed charges against him for the incident. However, as LL mentions, it’s water under the bridge between them now, and they’re cool.

There’s a young man by the name of Chris Brown, who always gets a whole lotta things said about him and he does a few thing that maybe we may take out of context. But when I call Chris Brown about my sister, because she has a huge crush on him- he drops everything. No cameras around, he comes and dances with her, hangs out with her…”

Brown’s visits makes DeOndra beyond happy and as y’all can see, Jaime is humbled that Brown takes those moments outta his busy schedule to put a smile on his sister’s face.

Aside from being a Chris Brown fan, DeOndra is like her big bro,’ she LOVES the camera and is confident in herself. So much so, that Jaime also revealed the hilarious thing she did on the set of his video shoot:

Foxx: I’m shooting a video called “Blame It On The Alcohol,” my sister [DeOndra] says, “Big bruh you gon’ let me get down, right?” I said ‘What you mean?’… “I wanna dance in the video,” [DeOndra said]. I said ‘Okay cool.’ So everybody’s there, Quincy [Jones]…Samuel Jackson….. And we’re shooting, so it’s getting late and she’s like “Big bruh don’t forget about me, ’cause I wanna do my thing.” And I looked down and what was interesting was she had a lil’ purse…and there was some hair sticking out the purse. I said ‘What’s that?’ She said “Oh that’s my ponytail, I’mma put that in …when it’s time to get down,” LOL. I said ‘Girl go put your ponytail in! LOL.

Turns out, after DeOndra went and put her ponytail in, Jaime said she ‘killed it’ in his video. That led to Quincy Jones giving her a great opportunity…

DeOndra became the ambassador for the company and has gone to congress to speak about Down Syndrome. Jamie Foxx recently explained what he did to help pop superstar, Ed Sheeran, before he became the multimillionaire, multi-million selling artist he is today.

Who Is Ed Sheeran?

Before we get into what Jamie did exactly, many of us Old Schoolers may be saying to ourselves, ‘Ed who?’…so let us first explain who he is. He’s the cat who’s been heating up the pop music charts lately. He’s also the guy who Xscape’s Kandi Burruss, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, and their then songwriting partner, She’kspere Briggs, just got paid off of.

As we previously reported, there was recently an online outcry by fans who accused Ed of jackin’ the music of the Tiny-Kandi-She’kspere-penned TLC song, “No Scrubs,” for his hit song, “Shape of You.” After the outcry, music publishing company, ASCAP, added their three names to Sheeran’s song. That’s all water under the bridge now and as far as we know, there’s no bad blood between Sheeran and the songwriting trio. Jamie Foxx On What He Did For Sheeran

During his interview on The Graham Norton Show, Jamie revealed that he’d come across Ed Sheeran at an event in L.A., when Ed was just a struggling artist trying to get on. Ed asked Jamie to listen to his music, Jamie did so and was impressed by what he’d heard. So impressed, that he opened up his home to Ed for six weeks, because he knew that British bred singer had no place to stay in L.A. and little money:

“So he [Ed Sheeran] plays and I was like, you’re incredible,” Jamie explained. “I said listen, I know you don’t have anywhere to go just chill here.”

During his stay at Jamie’s, Fox said he put Ed to the ultimate test. He took him to perform at an event made up of 800 African American people in the audience, who were all staring at Ed as if he’d gotten lost on his way to someplace else. Apparently the random strangers had an issue with Jaime for having brown skin and took it upon themselves to let him know, in their Croatian language, that they didn’t appreciate it, by yelling the word, ‘crncuga,’ at him. ‘Crncuga’ is Croation for ‘nigger.’

As the racists were ranting and carrying on for a few minutes, Jaime calmly pulled out his phone and started Snap-chatting the whole incident, which he’s since deleted. In the video, the men can be seen in the background being hauled away by authorities, as Jaime is talking about what had just went down. Check out the video below…

I gotta give it to Jaime, he kept his cool and he even jokingly mocked the racial slurs the racists were spewing at him. Big ups to him for that, because that type of disrespect typically warrants a beatdown-first-laugh-at-it-later kinda reaction.

And besides, I ain’t sure if those racist cats knew who Jaime was, but they probably wouldn’t have wanted him to revert back to “Django,” just sayin…

He even said that Trump’s presidential candidacy run gives Kanye West a real shot at his proclaimed 2020 run for president. But of course he was being sarcastic, although when you think about it, his words do speak truth…if Trump can run with no prior political experience and be taken seriously by millions who believe in him and “want to make America great again,”  then the same can really happen for Kanye west, just saying.

Jaime Foxx’s daughter, Corrine Foxx, has just been named one of the highest honors that the children of successful actors, like Jaime Foxx, can earn in the movie industry. She was just named Miss Golden Globe 2016, which is an honor that is only awarded to one well established actor’s child every year. It is based on the accolades that their actor parent has accomplished first and secondly it is based on what aspirations the actual child is pursuing on their own.

Jamie won a 2004 Bet Actor Golden Globe Award for his portrayal of Ray Charles in the film Ray. Twelve years later, his daughter will officially be selected as Miss Golden Globe 2016.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) made the announcement on Tuesday night (11-17-15) at their party at Ysabel in West Hollywood and Corrine said this about being selected:

‘Throughout the years I’ve grown up watching my dad establish himself as a well-respected actor,’ she said. 

‘I’m honored that HFPA has given me the opportunity to now share the same stage where he’s been recognized for some of his greatest accomplishments.’

Corrine is a model and has kicked off her modeling career in a major by becoming one of the models for the accessories line, Icing. The President of HFPA, Lorenzo Soria said this about Corrine and her new modeling career: “We are delighted to have Corinne Foxx continue the tradition and have her as our 2016 Miss Golden Globe. Like her father, she leads a fine example of following her dreams and we can’t wait to see what she does next.”

Corrine is now 20 years old and she is a senior at the University of Southern California. As Mis golden Globe 2016 she will be joining the likes of previously selected children of well known actors like Bruce Willis’ daughter, Kelsey Grammer’s daughter, Kevin Beacon’s daughter, and Clint Eastwood’s daughter. So in other words, Jaime Foxx’s daughter will be adding some long overdue diversity to that Golden Globe lineup. Go ‘head Corrine!
