In a very odd twist of events that have transpired since Monday, Netflix and Min. Louis Farrakhan have apparently had some type of disagreement regarding his new documentary. They’ve given two very different announcements to fans and now many are confused as to what really happened, including us.

First Came Farrakhan’s Release Announcement

On Monday, Farrakhan took to Twitter to let his fans know that his latest documentary, “My Life’s Journey Through Music,” would be premiering on Netflix on Wednesday, August 1, 2018:

At that time, it seemed evident that there was a solidified release date set for the Netflix premiere and the civil rights activist seemed excited about sharing his highly skilled musical talents and his life’s work with the world, through Netflix’s platform.

Fans tweeted their anticipation in response to the minister’s announcement…then all of a sudden there was a resounding record scratch delivered to fans, by way of Netflix…

Then Came Netflix’s Abrupt Cancellation

Damn near 24 hours after Farrakhan’s announcement, Netflix hit fans with a ‘Not so fast’ type of response. They released a statement via Variety, that was in direct contrast with the Nation of Islam leader’s statement. Within in it, the service offered an explanation, without really explaining much of anything at all regarding the cancellation:

A company spokesperson on Tuesday said that reports that the streaming service would add the documentary “My Life’s Journey Through Music” next month were the result of a communication error.

“This film will not be released on Netflix,” the spokesperson said. “Due to an internal miscommunication, it appeared to be scheduled for release on Netflix, but it is not. We apologize for any confusion this has caused.”

So all of the preparation, paperwork, and hype surrounding the Netflix Farrakhan documentary was simply the result of some type of ‘oops’ and they just caught it approximately 24 hours BEFORE it was to premiere on it’s platform? If y’all are confused about this, you’re not alone because clearly, Farrakhan was too, given his prior statement.

Conspiracy Theories

Since I was utterly confused about the sudden breakdown in ‘communication’ between Farrakhan and Netflix, I went into research mode to find the answer. After extensive research, what I’ve now found is that many websites have created their own theory about, without any factual proof to back their claims.

In a nutshell, many are blaming Farrakhan’s Netflix cancellation on a video post he tweeted, in June 2018, as the reason. In his video, Farrakhan spoke about “Thoroughly and completely unmasking the Satanic Jew and the Synagogue of Satan.”

Clearly, Farrakhan’s statement sounds extremely biased against all Jewish people. What I eventually realized, was that Farrakhan was referencing a Jesus quote from the Bible, that reads:

“Behold, I will make those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie—behold, I will make them come and bow down before your feet and they will learn that I have loved you.”

One Christianity site broke down that Bible quote and it’s surrounding statements in simple terms, which further explains Farrakhan’s reference- be it good or bad:

Via CGG.org: ‘The word synagogue comes from a Greek word meaning “assembly of men” or “congregation,” and it was used much like the English word “church.” The “synagogue of Satan,” then, is an assembly or congregation—a church—made up of the individuals who “say they are Jews, and are not.” The term “Jew” is used here in a spiritual sense.

Notice the apostle Paul’s definition of a spiritual Jew in Romans 2:29: “He is a Jew who is one inwardly, and circumcision is that of the heart, in the Spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not from men but from God.” In this case, it is not one’s physical race that counts, but his spiritual condition (Galatians 3:27-29; Romans 4:16). True Christians are spiritual Jews because Jesus says in John 4:22, “Salvation is of the Jews.”

Those in the “synagogue of Satan” say they are spiritual Jews—pretend to be real Christians—but are not. This false church was already developing in the days of the apostle John, masquerading as God’s true church.’

So, although we still do not know the true reason behind Netflix’s cancellation of Farrakhan’s documentary, could it be that the streaming service, which is largely owned by executives of Jewish decent, cancelled it due to his video? I guess only time will tell.

Official Announcement Of Farrakhan Jr.’s Death

As Salaam Alaikum. (Peace Be Unto You.)

The Nation of Islam, with deep sadness, announces the passing of Brother Louis Farrakhan, Jr., the eldest son of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and Mother Khadijah Farrakhan. The family was aware of a previous heart condition and it appears that Louis, Jr., passed peacefully in his sleep at the family home in Phoenix, Ariz. He was 60 years old.

We extend our love, support and prayers to the Farrakhan family, the family and children of Louis, Jr., the entire Nation of Islam and to all who knew and loved our dear brother.

We will provide details about his funeral, janazah service, as information becomes available.

We thank Allah (God) for the life of Louis, Jr., his contribution to rise of Black and oppressed people and for touching so many of us in a deep and very personal way. He worked alongside his father and family in fulfilling the mission of the Hon. Elijah Muhammad and the Nation of Islam and his dedication and sacrifice to our cause will never be forgotten.

On Sunday morning, Min. Farrakhan posted a message from his prior sermon about perseverance in the midst of loss.

Louis Farrakhan: “We cannot run from being tried. The Holy Qur’an teaches us that Allah is going to try us with something of fear, hunger, loss of property, loss of life and diminution of fruit, but give good news to those who are patient and steadfast under trial.

Details About Louis Jr.

Not much is publicly known about Louis Jr., but here’s what we do know:
1. He worked on various projects with the Nation of Islam, but unlike his brother, Mustapha Farrakhan Sr., Louis Jr. did not hold any post in the NOI under their father’s leadership.

2. Louis Jr. and his wife, Lesil Farrakhan, have 5 children.

3. He was once arrested and charged for a domestic violence dispute with his then pregnant wife, Lesil, in 2000. Their then teen daughter called police and reported that Louis Jr. hit her mother in the head with a metal tray, leaving Lesil with a gash on her forehead when she was 7 or 8 months pregnant. Lesil told police at that time, that nothing like that had ever happened before between she and Louis Jr.. Following the incident, Louis Jr. surrendered to police, apologized to his wife, plead guilty, and served a short probation for his actions. As far as we know, there were no more domestic violence incidents between him and Lesil again.

Like we always say, celebrities, are humans who face real life problems, heartaches, family struggles, just like the rest of us. Although Min. Louis Farrakhan has dedicated his life toward fearlessly fighting for the rights of African Americans, sometimes he, too, needs the shoulders of the millions he lead in his infamous Million Man March, to lean on at times like this. Condolences to Farrakhan, his wife and the rest of the family and loved ones of Louis Farrakhan Jr. May he rest peacefully.

The two have nine children together -four sons (Mustapha, Joshua Nasir, Abnar, and Louis Jr.) and five daughters (Donna, Hanan, Maria, Fatimah, and Khallada. They also have over 20 grandchildren, including one who happens to be famous.

Have you ever seen Mustapha Farrakhan Jr.? If you haven’t, in a minute you’ll understand why so many women are swooning over the brotha and batting their eyelashes at him. For one thing, dude is an NBA baller. In addition to his skills on the court, many ladies consider him to be a handsome cat. So apparently, he’s been turning many heads on and off the court.  The thing that’s really interesting about him are his similarities to and extreme differences from his Pops’ and his Grandpops’ personalities and hardcore demeanors.

MEET FARRAKHAN’S NBA GRANDSON

Introducing Mustapha Farrakhan, Jr. – the 29 year old grandson of Minister Louis Farrakhan. For those who don’t know, Mustapha played college ball for four years at the University of Virginia, then he advanced to the NBA’s D-League where he’s played for the Bakersfield Jam, Iowa Energy, Sioux Falls Skyforce, Idaho Stampede, and the Oklahoma City Blue; for the pro Australian NBL league with the Melbourne Tigers; and for the NBA’s  New York Knicks, L.A. Clippers, and Milwaukee Bucks before being waived. As of April 2016, he’s been playing on the NBA D-League’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Surprisingly, the pro-baller is quite different from his grandfather in some ways. When he attended the Nike Invitational, many recruiters were apprehensive about approaching Mustapha and his father, Mustapha Sr. – the ‘Supreme Captain of the Nation of Islam’ rumored to be Louis Farrakhan’s successor – over fears of radicalized beliefs. Well, that and the fear of getting hemmed up by the not-so-incognito Nation of Islam security with them.

Shortly after news outlets began reporting on Mustapha Jr., even viewers and social media users speculated about the then NBA prospect’s beliefs. Many believed it was “a sure bet” Mustapha hated “‘Jews and ‘Crackers’ just like dear old granddaddy,” as one person put it. ESPN reported that ‘college coaches had already begun cautiously probing at the camp, most sending black assistants to test the waters with Mustapha Sr. before showing interest in his son.’

However, Mustapha Jr. is a bit different- he smiles much more on the court (but he still has the serious side like his father and grandfather too, we’ll explain in a minute) and he’s known for his jokes among teammates. Although he has admitted he knew the challenges he’d be up against due to his grandfather’s legacy.

“Because of how people perceive my grandfather, I always thought they probably wouldn’t want me on their college team,” Mustapha said to ESPN. “I know I have to earn everything, and I don’t mind. But it’s always going to make it hard.”

In addition to playing basketball, he’s also active in his grandfather’s ministry. Mustapha Jr. reportedly does security for his Min. Farrakhan. Check him out standing/seated behind Farrakhan in the video clips below…

But despite the stigmas, his father, Mustapha Sr., has made it clear that the family’s religious beliefs shouldn’t interfere with his son’s career:

“I don’t want anyone to look at him because of what they may perceive about his grandfather and try to attach that to him,” Mustapha Sr. says, his voice rising. “But if you want to besmirch my son, well … okay, let’s think the same way about you. We don’t have a history of lynching nobody. We don’t have a history of killing nobody.” -via ESPN

Mustapha Sr. went on to share details about his son’s personality and character. He revealed his son, whom he affectionately calls ‘Lil Mu,’ has grown to be a man of integrity and love:

Via ESPN: “This is a fruit of my tree, and I’m a fruit of that tree. When you want to take a peek into the life of the one behind him [he points to the Minister’s picture], you talk to the children. See if you find racism in them. See if you find hatred in them. We’re not about that.” Mu’s gentle character, he argues, should be the truest window into the Farrakhan family. Every postgame interview with the media, every pregame handshake with opponents—Mu’s demeanor, his father insists, will serve to clear up all those preconceived notions of hate.”

Wow, wishing much continued to success to Mustapha Farrakhan, Jr. in his basketball career and future endeavors. And yes ladies, he’s still a bachelor…as far as we know.
