Then things seemed to be looking up for her in 2016, when she reportedly entered a drug rehab and had been sober for two years, as she admitted on Iyanla Vanzant’s show, Fix My Life. The situation took a major turn for the worse when video of Maia surfaced of her apparently extremely high as all get out, on the streets of somewhere USA. After that video surfaced, Maia was picked up by law enforcement and was involuntarily admitted into an institution for a few days. Upon being released her former co-star, L.L. Cool J., publicly offered her help and she publicly denied it.

Months then went by without any public sightings of Maia, until now. She’s recently resurfaced, looking very disheveled and completely out of control of her life. Fly Height Entertainment spotted her on the street, wearing a short tight dress, with her hair all over her head a defiant disposition. We’ve all been talking about the unfortunate circumstances currently clouding actress, Maia Campbell’s life lately…and understandably so. However, her former In The House co-star, Jeff Wood, is pretty newsworthy himself. Therefore ILOSM fam,’ just in case you all needed a reminder of truly how Old School we all really are now, here it is…

First off, who remembers the kid who played Maia’s kid brother, Debbie Allen’s son, and L.L. Cool J.’s house tenant on the 90’s show? He’s actor, Jeff Woods, and his character’s name was “Austin,” who was known for rockin’ his oversized ‘Urkel’ style frames. Back then ladies thought he was the most “adorable” lil’ guy ever and today, many of them think he’s now one the “sexiest” dudes in the game. That’s probably difficult to even when you just know him as the brainy kid with the ‘fro and button down shirts, but it’s true.

Last time most of us saw “Austin” was around 1997, when he made his last appearance on In the House. Twenty years later, Jeff is now a 30 year old man who looks almost unrecognizable when you see him today. Check him out below…

A few days ago, actress, Maia Campbell, found herself at the center of controversy after a heartbreaking video surfaced of her begging a dude for cocaine at a Stone Mountain, GA gas station. LL Cool J reached out to his former In The House castmate hoping to lend a helping hand, which she surprisingly declined (however, she’s currently in county custody for her own good). ‘Don’t Call Me, I’ll Call You’:”

Over the weekend, LL took to social media with a post asking for Maia’s contact information. Although he was successful in reaching her, he didn’t exactly get the response he may have been hoping for. Maia took to social media with a video message to the rapper, whom she affectionately calls Todd. To many fans, the second video was just as disheartening as the first. Maia made it clear she’s in complete denial of her condition. “Hey Todd, look bro, I love you,” she tells her former colleague in a recorded video. “I don’t need help, I just need a benefit concert for mental health. Don’t DM me.”

After she declined LL’s help, it was reported that an intervention team stepped in. Maia is currently being held at the Dekalb County Jail awaiting a mental evaluation. Hopefully, this beautiful soul will get the help she needs once and for all.

After a heartbreaking video surfaced of 90’s actress, Maia Campbell, seemingly back on drugs, the public was saddened to see her in such a horrific state and want to see her win. The video went viral with many people praying and expressing their concern for Maia’s well-being. Well now, it seems like those prayers were answered as Maia is getting the help she needs. Rough Times:

In case you missed our previous report, on Saturday, July 8th (2017), a video surfaced of Maia Campbell on the streets of the ATL . Although she has bipolar disorder, in the video, Maia appeared to be high and not necessarily suffering solely from symptoms of bipolar. An unknown man is seen in the video speaking with Campbell, as she pumped gas. The man then asks Maia if she wants “some powder or some crack” and she goes on a tangent about being raped by a man who calls himself Bill Cosby. It’s difficult to see a beautiful, talented woman, with so much potential take a downward spiral to this level. In the video, Maia is scantily dressed, with her hair disheveled and it appears that she may have lost some teeth. She’s not herself and she looks as if she’s under the influence of something. LL Cool J.’s Plea To Maia:

The video of Maia Campbell went viral and caught the attention of many people including her ” In The House” costar, LL Cool J. Upon discovery that Maia needed help, the hip hop icon took to Twitter and asked for Maia to contact him.

In addition, he slammed the dude who recorded the video by suggesting that people should help someone who is in need instead of mocking them on social media.

Here’s the best news of it all: Maia Campbell is currently being held at the Dekalb County for a mental health evaluation. The center will hold Maia Campbell until her family and intervention team arrive to take her to a place that can help. A video of a woman whose Instagram name is, rosadessie123, provided an update on Maia’s progress. It appears that she’s a life coach and one of the people who cares about Maia.

Months ago, it seemed the former In The House TV star was well on her way to a full recovery, but the latest video shows that she seems to have relapsed again, or is having some other type of horrific crisis in her life. Fans and celebrities everywhere have shared their reaction to the disheartening video and now her former In The House co-star, LL Cool J., is also reaching out to her.

Apparently, someone was able to give LL the information he was looking for, because he took to Instagram with another post shortly. The subliminal post simply said, “Thank You.” It is unclear what his plan is for Maia, but hopefully, he’s successful with his attempt to intervene. Many fans expressed concern for Maia and blasted the guy who filmed the video and exploited her.

Remember 90s’ sitcom star, Maia Campbell, from the show, In The House, with LL Cool J? She was a young, beautiful actress who seemed destined for stardom as she reached success at a very young age. Sadly, her light began to dwindle as a viral video of her seemingly high and delirious on the streets in 2010 sent the actress’ reputation down the toilet. Her struggles with substance abuse became public knowledge and it was clear that Maia needed help. What many people didn’t know at that  time is that Maia suffered from bipolar disorder. Campbell had gotten married and had a daughter, but she stopped taking her medication. Fix My Life:

In 2012, Maia was featured on relationship expert Iyanla Vanzant’s show, “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” where Iyanla attempted to work with Maia to reestablish her family relationships and overcome the unresolved guilt she felt for the pain she caused her deceased mother, renowned author Bebe Moore Campbell. While Maia was celebrating 2 years of sobriety, her problems were far from over. It was difficult to watch as viewers learned that she was confined to an assisted living facility. When speaking, she seemed to have a child-like demeanor and it seemed like her problems were beyond what Iyanla could ‘fix.’ In short, her life wouldn’t be fixed within that hour.

Back On Track:

In 2016, we excitedly provided an update on Maia’s progress. It seemed as if her life was back on track as she joined the season two cast of From the Bottom Up. Campbell was featured on the Centric TV reality series to highlight her fight to regain control of her life and to mend fences with her estranged daughter. However, while on the show, it was clear that Maia was in denial of her struggles and at one point she was missing. In an effort to locate her, actress Chrystale Wilson contacted Maia’s Godmother to find out if she was okay. Maia’s Godmother revealed that she was in fact in a safe place, but she still was experiencing problems. One of the reasons why Maia was still experiencing some challenges, according to her Godmother, was her inability to admit that she needed help. Once again, a reality show wouldn’t help Maia face her demons.
