Mike Epps must be in the dog house right about now. Why? Because he’s just issued not one, but two public apologies to his wife, Kyra Epps, within just two hours…and the brotha is going all in.

In a new Instagram post he posted on his page Thursday (3/7/24) night, Mike took a minute to let the world know just how sorry he is to Kyra, as a result of something he confessed to (view video below) on the “All That Smoke” podcast, which is hosted by NBA legends, Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson.

In his first apology, Mike shared a screenshot of his interview, and captioned it with the following:

“I wanna apologize to my wife for what I said on this dumb a$$ podcast sh*t this sh*t is a trick bag 💼 iam always misunderstood on what I say on the internet smh never again will I interview with anyone never 👎 iam off this sh*t for good fu*k off”

Approximately two hours later, the comedic legend doubled back around to his social media page with his second apology to Kyra. And this go ’round he shared a photo of of her, captioning it with this:

“Again I wanna apologize to my beautiful wife for [ignorant] and reckless I honor you and my family please forgive me.”

What Mike Epps Said That Sparked His Apology

So, what did Mike say to possibly piss off his wife, you ask? Well, he seemingly indirectly confessed to either having cheated on her at some point, OR to treating her badly at some point during their union. This was discussed during a segment of the interview where he talked about his relationships with the women in his life (his late mother, his romantic relationships- presumably past and present, and six kids)…without excluding his current relationship with his wife. Peep what he had to say about his behaviors with the women below…

“I used to cry all the time and ask God, ‘What did I do wrong, that I can’t have a son?’ But I know what I did man, I done lied to all these women and got ’em pregnant…sold ’em dreams and sh*t,” Mike confessed while discussing his 5 daughters and toddler son.

“That’s the one thing I’m gonna do before I leave this earth. I’m gonna learn how to treat a woman 100% right. That’s something that I want to do for my mother, my children, my daughter. I NEVER treated a woman right 100%. And now that I’m getting older, I’m realizing, ‘Man…you gotta treat a woman right Mike.'”

He continued:

“‘You can’t cheat on her, you gotta be her friend, you gotta not be selfish.’ This is what I wanna do, this is one of my dreams man.”

Mike then revealed where he believes his issues within his romantic relationships stem from:

“I had issues with my mother. So now, I don’t want my kids’ mothers to have her stuff.”

Soooo…I Love Old School Music fam,’ can I be real with y’all? Good. Now, what Mike confessed sounds less like he is down bad for his issues in his relationships, and more like a man who is now getting on his grown-man ish, so to speak. Although the actions he’s confessed to – from cheating to mistreating his women – are bad by all means, his current perspective and accountability is actually commendable.

In no way do his confessions justify his actions, however…it simply shows that he’s willing to start his journey down a new path toward honoring his relationships with his wife, as well the mothers of all his children with the respect they deserve.

Unfortunately for Mike though, it seems his wife was caught in the crossfires of his confessions and may possibly be a tad embarrassed, because he seems to indirectly be telling all their business.

Hopefully all will be forgiven and Mrs. Epps will ultimately accept her man’s apology in due time.

ILOSM fam,’ we’re sending a big congratulations to comedian/actor, Mike Epps, and his blushing bride, after the two quietly got married on Sunday, June 23, 2019. What we’ve now learned is that the shindig wasn’t a complete ‘secret,’ because Snoop Dogg, T.I., the iconic Whispers, and the legendary Doug E. Fresh, all managed to get an invite and help him usher in the new chapter of his life.

However, his current marital bliss did not come without a somewhat tense journey to get there. So before we share all of his beautiful festivities with y’all, we’ll take a quick trip back down memory lane to the intense divorce tussle with his first wife, Mechelle.

First Up: Where Epps & His EX-WIFE Came From, To Get Where He is Now…

It was back in September 2017, that we reported Mike Epps had just learned a whole new meaning to Johnnie Taylor’s soul classic song, “It’s Cheaper To Keep Her.” That’s when he and his now ex-wife of 12 years, Mechelle Epps, had finally made their divorce final, and the ex-Mrs. came up big time. Matter of fact, Mechelle’s new theme song could very well be Johnny Kemp’s joint, “Just Got Paid…it’s Friday night….” after the hefty payday she received in their divorce.

Comedian/actor, Mike Epps, just gave a whole new meaning to Johnnie Taylor’s soul classic song, “It’s Cheaper To Keep Her.” He and his wife of 12 years, Mechelle Epps, have finally made their divorce final and the ex Mrs. came up big time, which was to be expected because they were married for so long. Matter of fact, Mechelle’s new theme song could very well be Johnny Kemp’s joint, “Just Got Paid…it’s Friday night….” Here are the details of their divorce:

Via TMZ: Epps pays Mechelle $25k a month in spousal support for a total of 6 1/2 years, but if she remarries he stops paying. He also has to pay $15k a month in support for their 2 children. He’s also footing the bill for their private school. […] They agreed to joint legal custody and are still in the process of working out the physical custody arrangement.

That’s not all though, Mechelle will also come up off of Mike’s movie royalties and other perks:

Via TMZ: And Mike and Mechelle split royalties from his numerous movie and TV roles, including “The Hangover,” “Hancock” and “Girl Trip.” Mechelle walks away with a small fleet of cars herself, including a 2014 Bentley, 2013 Mercedes, 2015 Toyota Prius and a 2013 Land Rover. The couple will sell their family home in Encino and split the profits.

But Mike shouldn’t feel too bad, at least he got to keep some of his cars and he got a big end of the deal with their many properties:

Mike walks away with 10 — count them — 10 properties in Indiana. He keeps his 2016 Mercedes, his 2015 Jeep Cherokee, ’79 Caddy and 2011 Suzuki chopper. -TMZ

It’s very unfortunate their marriage didn’t last, but based on the drama (cheating allegations) they publicly went through toward the end of their divorce, it’s sometimes better to end things as friends and move on.

Mike has already found happiness with the new love of his life, girlfriend, Kyra Robinson. She’s a producer for Oprah’s OWN Network, in particular she produces for Iyanla Fix My Life show, which airs on OWN.

It’s unclear if Mechelle Epps has moved on with a new man in her life as of yet, but word to the wise for Mechelle, don’t jump that broom until that six year spousal support agreement is up. Pretty sure Mike Epps ain’t no fool, he’ll probably be ready and willing to halt those checks as soon as Mechelle and her new boo say “I do.”

Mike Epps is pissed off with the many celebrities who have taken to social media and/or television to reveal how much money they’re donating to Hurricane Harvey victims as if it’s a badge of honor. In particular, he says he’s seeing celebs who never donate -or at least do not reveal it publicly- suddenly blasting it to the world in the midst of the tragic aftermath of Hurricane Harvey as if they’re looking for ‘likes’ on social media.

Epps has always been known as one of the few celebs who always goes back to inner city neighborhoods and helps the residents there in any way he can. Here’s what he just posted online about the difference between his ongoing efforts and what he’s seeing now though:

Who Is Epps Talking About?

We’re not sure who Epps is specifically referring to. But as many of you know, Kevin Hart received mixed reactions when he recently issued a $25K Hurricane Harvey donation challenge for other celebs to donate $25K, just as he was doing. Hart called out The Rock, Steve Harvey, Chris Rock, Dave Chappelle, Jay Z, Beyonce’, Justin Timberlake, Jerry Seinfeld, and others in his social media challenge.

Hart’s challenge was like a double edged sword in the eyes of some though- many thought it was great that he forced the hands of celebrities to step up and help. Others thought it was wrong for him to do so. However, after Hart’s challenge, several celebs took him up on his offer, including Chris Brown, DJ Khaled, T.I., The Rock, and Jamie Foxx, who all announced that they were donating $25K or more. As far as Mike Epps, he didn’t name any names when he referred to celebs who ‘tell the world about their hurricane donations like they’re God.’ So we’ll just have to leave that part up to our imagination and our deductive reasoning in this case. At any rate, we definitely applaud Mike for keepin’ it 100 and not being afraid to speak his mind.

Also, big ups to all celebs and everyone else who is helping residents of Houston, TX and surrounding areas in any way possible- no matter how large, or small.

Well looka here! Comedian/actor, Mike Epps (46) has found ‘love on a two-way street,’ just like Stacy Lattisaw did in the 80’s. He’s just introduced his new girlfriend to the world. But let’s not move too fast…before we get onto his new boo-thang, we’re gonna backtrack to the current situation between Mike and his estranged wife of 11 years, Mechelle Epps.

Mike’s Money Battle With Mrs. Epps

Mr. and Mrs. Epps have been going through a serious money battle lately. They have been legally separated since January 2016, but reportedly they split in June 2015. As they try to hash out who gets what in their pending divorce and custody terms of their kids, they’ve made headlines a few times.

Just in May of this year (2017), Mechelle Epps put Mike on blast in her court documents. She claims that Mike is trying to force her into settling for a smaller amount in temporary spousal support, by currently cutting her off financially, so she has no choice but to take the money. She reportedly is demanding whopping $118,468 a month in spousal and child support. However, Mike apparently wants to shell out $26,503 monthly. Why? Because he says he owes the IRS $2.6 million, so his money is lookin’ a lil’ funny at the moment.

Via Bossip: “Mike is attempting to force me to settle by cutting off my support,” Mechelle said in her court documents.”He has been paying our bills like always, until recently. Now he is cutting off my access to bank accounts and credit cards in an attempt to coerce me to settle.”

Via Vibe: “Mechelle’s mother nannies for $3,500 a month, and she also needs an additional $600 to cover her mother’s Mercedes. Not to mention, Mechelle is also asking for $72,000 for their children’s private school education, as well as sole possession of the house.

Johnnie Taylor’s song, “It’s Cheaper To Keep Her,” suddenly comes to mind. Seriously though, hopefully Mike and Mechelle will reach a common ground soon with this situation. Now onto Mike’s new woman…

Meet Mike’s new lady, Kyra Robinson. She’s a producer for Oprah’s OWN Network, in particular she produces for Iyanla Fix My Life show, which airs on OWN. Mike took to Instagram the other day to make it official. Kyra also attended the birthday party of Mike’s daughter, Bria, in May (2017), so it seems that she’s developed a good relationship with some of his kids. So far, Mike looks happy.

We have nothing but love for Richard Pryor, but we all know that he’s admitted plenty of times interviews and in his comedy acts that he had his wild days. In 1978 Richard Pryor had to turn himself into Los Angeles police after a warrant was issued for his arrest on an ‘assault with a deadly weapon’ charge from an incident that happened at his home on New Year’s day. His wife spoke out about it in a public interview and Richard eventually included it in his stand up routine a few times.

According to the investigating officer, Sgt. Lou Bobbit, Pryor’s neighbors said they were awakened by gunfire at 8 o’clock in the morning and called the police. They then ran outside to see what was going on and they say the saw…
