Nas and Kelis seem to be the epitome of a parental relationship gone wrong. Now, Kelis will be heading to trial with Nas after pleading “not guilty” of accused custody violations.

As concerns Nas, Kelis entered a “not guilty” plea on Thursday, April 11. This plea was in opposition to 20 counts of contempt. For Kelis, a trial date of June 20 has been scheduled, as reports The Blast. It’s possible Nas’ ex could be sentenced to fines or jail time.

So, what brought Nas and Kelis to this situation?…

Well, in January, Nas actually filed court documents regarding his custody agreement and support battle with Kelis over their son, Knight, 9.

If it were left up to Nas, Kelis would be found in contempt right now. Reported by The Blast, he claimed she has violated the custody agreement 17 times since the beginning of last year.

So in accordance, he pursued his “contempt” plan of action. Reportedly in the rapper’s affidavit against his ex, he explained they had a custody agreement set between each other.

Kelis’ “milkshake” may have ‘brought all the boys to the yard’ in 2003, but in 2018, her reported actions are bringin’ all the drama to her front door. First, her ex-husband/rapper, Nas, put her on blast, now, her nanny is going at her hard over what she’s apparently done to her.

Why Kelis’ Nanny Just Sued Her

Kelis former nanny, Soraya Tascon, claims –in her legal complaint filed with the Labor Commission of the State of California- that Kelis refused to pay her money she owed for babysitting her kids. That ain’t all though. According to the nanny, she’s also seeking a reimbursement of the money she paid out of pocket to buy a plane ticket back home, after Kelis got ghost on her, leaving her stranded in London. Dayumn!

All in all, Soraya Tascon is seeking $17,000.00+ from Kelis for her unpaid wages and her troubles. See the details that now has Kelis in a pickle and why she lost this legal battle…

Details of nanny’s claims:
The nanny stated in court docs that Kelis hired her in June 2016 to monitor her then 6-month old baby (with her current husband) and her then 7 year old son she shares with Nas.

The agreement was that Soraya would travel with Kelis on tour and also work for her at her home. The pay was $750 per week and entailed basic nanny duties- ‘babysitting, feeding the kids, preparing bottles, organizing closets, packing suitcases, helping shower the kids, and washing clothes.’

According to Soraya, Kelis never paid her for her services, even though she says she asked her to do so repeatedly. She also claims everything fell apart in July 2016, when she traveled to London with Kelis. The nanny says that’s where Kelis fired her on the spot and left her there. As a result, the nanny says she had to pay for a plane ticket from London to her mother’s home in Madrid and then to Los Angeles, CA. She says Kelis owes her pay for over 100 hours of work, plus overtime, as well as the $1,200 travel expense she acquired.

The Labor Commissioner agreed with Soraya Tascon, despite Kelis’ claims that she fired her for not answering her phone calls. Soraya has now been awarded a total of $17,623.73.

When It Rains It Pours: Nas’ Recent Claims Against Kelis

A few days ago, Nas turned quite a few heads when he finally sounded off about his ongoing custody battle with Kelis over their son, Knight Jones. He also made major claims against Kelis for reportedly emotionally and verbally abusing his daughter, whom he says she’s jealous of. In addition to that, Nas addressed the abuse claims Kelis made about him and the many reportedly ‘false’ stories he says she recently told to Essence Magazine. Although the “If I Ruled the World” rapper is usually the laid-back, low-key type, he had no reservations about defending himself when he was asked about all of the scathing allegations Kelis has discussed.

Soundin’ Off:

On Thursday, September 6, 2018,  Nas took to Instagram to share details about his discussion with Essence magazine. He revealed he’d been contacted to share his opinion of the abuse allegations. The It Was Written rapper had more than a few choice words for his estranged ex-wife:

“Today I got a call from Essence about my ex-wife doing another sad fictitious story. Nothing surprises me anymore, including this. This is what your life has come to sis?” Nas wrote. “Exploiting some people’s Real struggle and pain . . . just to get at me . . . to get attention? Fame? Another fight against men?”

He also offered a statement about Kelis, in which he blasted her for her actions:

“Everything with her is a plot and a scheme. Has no merit. No foundation. I didn’t wanna speak up because I have real respect for our women. And definitely my son. I do not beat women. I did not beat up my ex-wife. Stop. You got beat up in court. How much money do you want? Do you want me to relinquish my rights to see my son is that what you want? Just tell me. After all the tweets and posts you made thru the years disrespecting me and my family I still have love for you as the mother of my child BUT I am done with this.”

For those who missed all the drama between Nas and Kelis, the two have been beefin’ for years and he has been taking Kelis back and forth to court, in hopes that the judge will rule in his favor in regards to their son. Kelis quickly fired back saying:

However, there were a few fans who defended her. One person wrote,

“Hate how people could judge but honestly don’t know the real just like myself lol regular folks be to caught up into these celebrities lives! We don’t know who’s lying but quick to say @kelis is the one doing all the lying.”

Despite the pettiness, the criticism, and all the comments, Kelis isn’t sweatin’ it. She replied,

Kelis’ Claims of Abuse

In a recent interview with Hollywood Unlocked, Kelis said Nas forced “a lot of mental and physical abuse” upon her during their 4 year marriage. She also says she didn’t want to discuss it in public for several reasons:

“I have edited myself for nine years and I woke up this morning and I was like ― not today. … “We had really intense highs and really intense lows. […] It was dark, it was really dark. There was a lot of drinking, a lot of just mental and physical abuse. […] We would fight. I never like just sat there, but we would definitely fight. Did he hit me? Mhmm. Did I hit him back? Mhmm.”

Kelis said that the abuse had gotten so bad, she almost decided to speak up during Rihanna’s and Chris Brown’s 2009 domestic violence incident. According to Kelis, at the time that the Rihanna/Chris Brown news broke, she was sitting in her and Nas’ kitchen in their Atlanta, Ga. home, bruised from head to toe, contemplating whether or not she would come forward and blast Nas for domestic violence to the media.

“I had bruises all over my body at that time…I wasn’t ready to walk, I just wasn’t. So I didn’t say it. Honestly ’cause I’m not weak … I’m really private, I don’t like people in my business. I felt like this is my partner, I chose this, we’re gonna do this, we’re gonna make it work. I stayed for years after that,” Kelis said. “Seeing her [Rihanna], the way she looked and then looking at myself I was embarrassed,” she added. “I was appalled, I was embarrassed. […] I didn’t say anything [then] because I wanted things to work. And because I was delusional and because I thought I could love past this.”

She also stated that it wasn’t until she became pregnant with their son, that she decided to leave the marriage, because she didn’t wanna raise their child in a toxic home environment. That brings us to what Nas has just responded with…

Nas Responds…

Days went by before Nas decided to respond to Kelis’ abuse claims. Now that he has, it isn’t in the way many of his fans thought he would. Although the Queensbridge rapper is typically radio silent about his private life, we knew it was only a matter of time before he felt the pressure to say SOMETHING to try to clear his name. The way he chose to respond on Monday, April 30, 2018, was by way of liking and replying to comments underneath a photo he posted of him with his and Kelis’ son, Knight.

He never directly addressed the situation, but he responded to people who were defending him against Kelis. In the photo captioned, “This is what it’s all about. Pure Peace & Pure Love. Pure Happiness! ❤️ #tb #fathersandsons,” Nas let his fingers do the talking.

When one commenter stated, “One or two restaurants she would have been cool. You started doing too much & she da chef. You know you not supposed to live son!,” and Nas replied with a “💯.” In case y’all didn’t know, Nas has recently gotten into the restaurant business, but Kelis has been a chef for several years now. Therefore, Nas’ response implies that Kelis is making those claims out of jealously that he stepped into her arena and accomplished in a short time, what she hasn’t been able to do for years.

Why Nas Filed New Court Claim Against Kelis

Fast forward to now and they’re fighting a whole new battle- the battle over their visitation rules, which Nas says she is repeatedly refusing to honor. In new court docs Nas has filed, he described Kelis as “hostile” when it comes to the fight she reportedly puts him through just to see their 8 year old son, Knight.

Nas calls Kelis “hostile” in court docs, obtained by TMZ, claiming he’s tried for months to work out an amicable agreement for sharing their son Knight … and Kelis just won’t cooperate. He’s asking a judge for Knight on the first, third and fifth weekend of each month from Friday after school through Monday morning. Source

In November 2017, Nas initially filed court docs, stating that he tried to “work cooperatively with Kelis over the years,” but that Kelis only “allows him to exercise his custody with their son when she deems it convenient for her.” Their visitation arrangement was proposed, by Nas, as follows:

Via TheBlast– Nas wants the child on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th weekend of every month. The child will spend Mother’s Day with Kelis and Father’s Day with Nas, and they each get to celebrate their own birthday with the child. As for the other holidays:

When Nas and singer, Kelis, divorced, most fans assumed they were amicable since they’ve never made headlines for too much drama. But apparently, there’s much more to the story and Nas’ patience is running thin. According to The Blast, the “If I Ruled The World” rapper is having a few problems with his ex Kelis. He claims Kelis has refused to allow him visitation with his eight-year-old son, Knight Jones. Now, he’s reportedly taking legal action to get the situation resolved. 

A Court Order:

It has been reported that Nas is filing a court order in hopes of solving his problem with Kelis. He claims he has “tried to work cooperatively with Kelis over the years,” but to no avail. Although he’s allowed to share custody of their son with her, he claims Kelis only deems it permissible when “it convenient for her.” The singer reportedly has a habit of choosing when Nas can see his son instead of sticking to a schedule. He has also revealed that there have been months at a time when he’s been unable to see his son because she would “refuse to set up time for our son and me to spend time together.” Now, he’s tired of it and he’s offering a suggestion to hash out their differences.

The Proposed Schedule:

It looks like Nas has give the situation lots of thought and he’s reportedly come up with a suggestion for the “Milkshake” singer. According to the publication, he’s requesting to have his son on the “1st, 3rd, and 5th weekend of every month.” He believes their son should spend Mother’s Day with her and Father’s Day with him.

Hopefully, these two can resolve whatever differences they have for their son.

Via NYDN: The rapper gets one great big compliment in the motor-mouthed memoir. “Busta was as gentle as he could be, because he was packing,” Jones writes. “Busta’s lovemaking was not for the timid or faint of heart.” But, Jones adds, “The fact that our lovemaking never lasted too long didn’t bother me, because I didn’t enjoy his drops of sweat raining down on me.” Afterward, “Busta would stroll around the apartment butt-naked, then shower and go into the kitchen and fry an egg sandwich – for himself. I guess I should be grateful. It’s not like he didn’t offer me a bite.” Of the sandwich.

Damn Miss Jones, you really told it ALL.

Okay ILOSM family, depending on how you look at this, Miss Jones’ disclosure may be seen as either foul, or fantastic. On the foul side, it could be argued that if Busta really wanted the world to know about his ‘package’ and how he gets down in bed, he would have released a sex tape by now.

But on the flip side, it could also be argued that her disclosure is fantastic for Busta becauseMiss Jones actually gave him props on his ‘package’…although I’m still not sure whether or not he would have simply preferred for Miss Jones to give him that compliment in person at that time, as opposed to shouting it to the world in a book, but you never know.

And although Miss Jones told all of she and Busta’s business, at least she could say that the brotha was satisfied with their sexscapades, because if he was in the kitchen butt naked, on cloud nine, cooking up an egg sandwich afterwards, he was content…I mean, she should have really been worried if he would have ran for the door afterwards and left a $20 bill on her dresser. But it just depends on whose lens you analyze that one through. 😊

Seriously though, I’m just trying to add some light to this situation because personally, I never really get why some celebs like to share their celebrity sex hookups with the world, but I can’t even front, it’s entertaining as hell (LOL) so I ain’t knockin’ their hustle!

MISS JONES ALSO DISHED ON SEVERAL OTHER CELEBS

JAY-Z

Via NYDN: Jones goes on to call Beyoncé “barrel-a-d” and says her “acting leaves something to be desired.” She then claims that when she first met Beyoncé’s fiancé, Jay-Z, “he turns and stares at my ass” and made a sexual remark.

Well that flirtatious incident between Jay and Miss Jones seemed innocent enough. At least Miss Jones didn’t have a story to tell like some other authors have written about Beyonce’s husband…for example:

Carmen Bryan (Ex-girlfriend of Nas and mother of their daughter):
In her 2006 tell-all, “It’s No Secret,” Carmen went on record stating that she thinks Nas’ and Jay-Z’s past beef (which has now ended, but was heavily documented in past diss records like Nas’ “Ether” and Jay-Z’s “Supa Ugly”) was started because Carmen was sleeping with both of them at the same time.

Carmen also said in a radio interview, that Jay Z had a bigger ‘package’ than Nas, but that Nas and Allen Iverson (we’ll get to him in a minute) were freakier. Carmen claimed that she loved her then-longtime boyfriend Nas, but also really cared for Jay-Z, and that Jay made her feel like she was in her “first adult relationship” because he treated he cared for her and listened to her so intently.

But Carmen’s interpretation must have been very different from Jay-Z’s interpretation of their hookups…at least according to the time Jay referenced Carmen in his diss track to Nas back in the day with this verse on “Supa Ugly”:

“Me and the boy A.I. got more in common/Than just ballin’ and rhyming, get it? More in Carmen./ I came in your Bentley backseat/ Skeeted in your Jeep/ Left condoms on your baby seat…/ And since you infatuated with sayin’ that gay sh*t/ Yes, you was kissin’ my d*#k when you was kissin’ that b*tch/ Nasty sh*t/ You thought I was boning Renette/ You calling Carm a hundred times, I was boning her neck/ You got a baby by that broad/You can’t disown her yet” -Jay-Z

Nas’ ex, Carmen, also talked about sex with now NBA Hall of Famer, Allen Iverson in her ’06 book:

‘Allen was lean and muscled, a warrior, with tattoos and battle scars. Just looking at him got me excited. His body was scrumptious. His kiss was intoxicating and I felt like I was melting. Our antics took us from one side of the bed to the other. I couldn’t get enough of this man.’ – Carmen Bryan

KARRINE “SUPERHEAD” STEFFANS

Then there was Karrine “Superhead” Steffans, who said in her 2006book, “Confessions of A Video Vixen,” that she hooked up with Jay-Z once for a quick fling that included very little talking in the back of his parked car, while she gave him a ‘happy ending’ so to speak.

So yeah…Miss Jones’ details about Busta was definitely raunchy, but her brief encounter with Jay Z was like a “Sesame Street” skit compared to Carmen and Karrine. Moving on…

MISS JONES SAID LIL KIM TRIED TO GET INTO APARTMENT TO FIGHT FAITH FOR BIGGIE?

Via NYDN: There’s plenty of drama, too. When Jones lived in the same apartment building as the Notorious B.I.G., his lover Lil’ Kim begged Jones to let her in to confront the rapper’s wife, Faith Evans, she claims.

The good thing is that now Faith and Lil Kim have moved past their drama…

But they have confirmed that they did have beef back in the day. Faith even reportedly admitted that she jumped all over Lil Kim when she caught Kim and Biggie in a hotel room together. So I wonder if Lil Kim was trying to get payback when she was asking Miss Jones to let her into the apartment building. Hmmm…
MISS JONES THINKS WENDY WILLIAMS IS DISAPPOINTING

Via NYDN: Rival deejay Wendy Williams is, of course, not spared. “After all of her years in radio, [she] has not elevated above curb level in terms of paving the way for other women in radio. Disappointing.”

MISS JONES ON MARY J. BLIGE: ‘KARMA IS A B#TCH!’

Via NYDN: And when Mary J. Blige fell onstage during Hot-97’s Summer Jam last year, Jones was glad, because Blige forgot to thank her at the [mic]. “Karma is a bitch,” Jones writes in the book.

Not really sure what all of Miss Jones issues were wth Mary at that time, but hopefully she and Mary J. have worked out the underlying tension that apparently caused Miss Jones to express satisfaction for Mary’s ‘slipping, falling, can’t get up’ (in my DMX voice) mishap back in the day.

Like I said earlier, Miss Jones’ unfiltered rawness- whether it’s fair or foul- is definitely entertaining.
