Most of us, Old Schoolers, remember the legendary Ray Parker Jr.. The year was 1984 when he graced Hollywood with the classic “Ghost Busters” theme song to the accompanying classic film. Matter of fact, if it wasn’t for Ray adding a lil’ funk to the comical movie, the film starring Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray, and Harold Ramis, would NOT have been as huge as it was. Prior to Ghost Busters, real R&B fans already knew about Ray’s group, Raydio, group and hits like, “A Woman Needs Love (Just Like You Do)” and “The Other Woman.”

Fast forward to today, and Ray is not only making 70 look like the new 50, he and his wife, Elaine Parker, are hella proud of the sons they’ve raised. The females are also proud of the four Parker offspring too…so much so, that they let it be known in their online comments. Their parenting days are over though and nowadays, Ray and Elaine are enjoying the laid-back lifestyle his music royalties have afforded them big time. The Ghostbusters legend is still stackin’ major money from his albums’ music royalties, as well as the many other multiplatinum hits of other artists he’s worked with.

If y’all didn’t know, Ray has worked with some of the biggest superstars in music, like Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Gladys Knight and many more. He lives in a plush California home with his fam’ and also owns a vineyard.

Ray Parker Jr. is usually a brotha who stays behind the scenes these days, but yesterday he was spotted by paparazzi coming out of a restaurant and they asked about the new all-female casted “Ghostbusters” movie coming out in a few months, that he is not a part of. Parker admitted that he didn’t know anything about the movie and then proceeded to answer with his ever-so-popular phrase when he said this about his non-involvement in a film he helped to popularize: “I guess they don’t know who to call…LOL.” Check out Ray Parker Jr. speaking on the new “Ghostbusters” movie and the call he didn’t get below…

Parker’s “Ghostbusters” song was number one for three weeks straight on Billboard hot 100 and it was a huge hit worldwide.
