Make some noise if you remember when Rev. Run’s (of Run DMC) and his wife, Justine’s, sons were kids in what seems like just yesterday, on their blended family reality show, “Run’s House’s,” in 2005. At that time, their son, Diggy, was just a 10 year old wet-behind-the-ears kid, who the world watched play with his brother and chop it up with his parents and older siblings about life lessons and such.

Fast forward to today though ad Diggy is letting the ladies know he’s a grown man now and not only that…get this- at 23 years old the young brotha is an old soul , who’s ready to find a wife and settle down. Matter of fact, Diggy Simmons- who’s also a rapper- done turned the internet upside down with his recent public service announcement about wanting to find a wife. As a result, he the chuckles we had after watching the cougars and the youngins make their offers to Diggy are priceless.

The year was 2005, when the world was officially introduced to the blended family of Rev. Run (real name Joseph Simmons) and his wife, Justine, on their prior reality show, “Run’s House.” They have 3 children together- Diggy, Russell II a.k.a. “Russy,” and Miley Simmons; and Run has two daughters and a son from a previous relationship- Joseph Jr., Vanessa, and Angela Simmons. This article is centered around all of the attention their youngest sons, Diggy and Russy, are garnering with the ladies. At the time of “Run’s House’s” 2005 premiere, Diggy was 10 and Russy was 7 years old. The last time many fans saw them, was when the show went off air in 2009, when Diggy was 14 and Russy was 11. Wait ’til y’all see them now though…

On “Run’s House” they were two typical, playful kids, just running around the house and getting kiddie-like life lessons from their pops. These days, their dad is still dishin’ out those life lessons to his seeds, but the kiddie talk is a wrap, he’s now talking to them man-to-man.

Today, Diggy is a 23 year old rapper like, his pops and we’re not sure what Russy does these days, but he’s now 20 years old. Check out the shirtless photo that Diggy posted the other day, causing the females to flip out over his chiseled up 6 pack:

Although his Instagram post drew attention because of his new grown man status, many of his female fans probably missed his message about his stagnant, 6 year hiatus from his music and the comeback he’s now ready to make. So be on the lookout for that.

How Son, Diggy, Helped His Parents’ Health

In addition to having these 20+ year old women out here swoonin’ over him, in a 2017 interview with BET, Rev. Run and Justine revealed how Diggy has helped them get a new lease on life. The Mr. and Mrs. have been on a serious health transformation for about the past year or so. In fear of developing diabetes, like two of their relatives had been diagnosed with, Justine and Rev. Run decided it was time for an overhaul. They began exercising daily and drastically changed their unhealthy eating habits to healthier ones, with the help of Diggy:

Via BET– “Diggy introduced us to brown rice pasta. It is very healthy and it tastes great,” [Justine] said. “I don’t play when it comes to my food, I don’t want to compromise taste. So, what I eat has to be good as well as healthy.”

“We also like Brussels sprouts. Justine and Diggy tear those things up. It’s a big hit!” Rev Run said. “We also eat chicken sausage instead of beef or pork. We also love the Morning Star hamburger crumbles. We make sloppy Joes with this and it is delicious.

“It was Russell [Simmons] that introduced us to that,” Justine said.

“He is the yogi vegan of the family,” Russell said.

“Miley, who is taller than me, loves the brown rice pasta with Morning Star crumbles and a little marinara sauce. That makes her happy. So, we are pleased to make changes that the family also loves,” Justine said.

The Simmons also revealed that they strive to take 10,000 steps per day, to keep their heart pumping and blood circulating. They have lost over 20 pounds and are now excited about exercising and eating healthy on the regular. Beautiful!

The other day, Rev. Run announced that he and Justine had been working really hard on self-financed pilot production of a comedy series, starring them. At first their series was heavily bid on within the industry and ultimately ABC picked it up in October 2016. Unfortunately, ABC decided to go a different route, but didn’t give up on the project completely, due to the demand that Rev. Run and Justine’s pilot presentation had garnered.

Eventually, Netflix saw the bigger picture and decided to scoop up the comedy series. Now, the show will be produced by production companies, Amblin TV and ABC Studios. It will run on Netflix. And just like that, Rev. Run and his wife are back on the screen again. Team work makes the dream work!

According to Deadline, the show is loosely based on Mr. and Mrs. Simmons’ lives:

The series stars Joseph “Rev Run” Simmons as a legendary rapper whose plans for slowing down are thwarted when his wife Justine (played by his real-life wife, Justine Simmons) decides to pursue her own dreams. While Rev and Justine have starred in several reality shows over the years, this is their first scripted family sitcom playing characters loosely inspired by themselves.

In addition to Rev. and Justine being the stars of the show, comedian/actor, Anthony Anderson’s son, Nathan, will be playing the Simmons’ son for the series, so this should be real interesting.

After the news of their new show was made public, Rev. Run -always one to count his blessings- took to social media to express his gratitude in a series of posts:

For years, we’ve watched Rev. Run raise his kids in the public eye, starting in their mid 2000’s reality show, Run’s House. It was then that the world began to witness how deeply devoted to her Christian values Angela really was. The Growing Up Hip Hop star even repeatedly discussed her vow of remaining a virgin until she was married in a past interview on the The Breakfast Club.

When co-host, Charlamagne, warned Angela that someone may try to get her pregnant just to capitalize off her family’s name, here was Angela’s response:

“No, I’m not having sex until I am getting married. So, they are not going to get me pregnant. I’m pretty smart and no one’s trapping me.”

When she turned 28, that all changed, according to Angela who revealed that on a 2016 interview on The Real talk show:

“I had a plan. The plan didn’t work out,” said Simmons after giving birth to her son, Sutton in Sept. 2016. “And you can’t always plan everything. You know, I met the love of my life and we got engaged. And I waited until 28.”

Now that Angela and her fiancee, Sutton Tennyson, had their son, Angela has taken her sensuality and sexuality as a beautiful thick-a-licious woman, to even greater heights. A few decades ago, when two legends- comedian/actor, Damon Wayans, Sr. and rapper, Rev. Run of Run DMC- started making their mark in entertainment, they probably never would have imagined they’d become family decades later. They were in two entirely different industries and they’re two kids who have now fallen madly in love with each other, weren’t even born of at that time. Fast forward today and it’s a whole ‘notha story, now the legends share the same adorable grandbaby.

Back in 2014, Mike Wayans, son of comedian Damon Wayans, Sr.  and Vanessa Simmons, daughter of Rev. Run (whose legal name is Joseph Simmons), celebrated the arrival of their daughter, Ava Marie Jean Wayans. Now, 4 years later, Ava has gotten so big and her parents are in talks of holy matrimony.

One Big Happy Family:

Growing Up Hip Hop star, Vanessa, sat down to talk with Entertainment Tonight about her new clothing line, her beautiful little girl, and her boyfriend, Mike Wayans. In January of 2014, Simmons and her longtime boyfriend, Mike Wayans, had a star-studded baby shower to welcome the arrival of their daughter, Ava. With plenty of support from the fam,’ the Simmons and the Wayans were in the house to congratulate the two parents-to-be.

As we all know, there are like a thousand members within the Wayans family (LOL, well, maybe not a thousand, but a whole LOT of ’em), but both Rev. Run and Damon Wayans were too excited as hell about Ava’s birth because she was officially the very first grandchild for both of the legends. Vanessa Simmons and Mike Wayans celebrated the impending arrival of their baby girl with a baby shower at the Sugar Factory in Hollywood. Ava was born less than a month later on February 13th of 2014.

Raising a 4 year-old is not easy when you have a fashion line to run. The 34-year-old fashion designer, recently launched Bad Butterfly with fellow fashion designer, Candice Cuoco. Simmons spoke with ET on life with her then 3-year-old daughter Ava, boyfriend Mike Wayans, and why they’re not quite ready to expand their family. While Simmons definitely wants more kids, she would like to be married first. Despite the fact that Simmons and Wayans had been dating a long time before Ava’s birth, Mike has still not popped the question. Apparently, the couple has discussed jumpin’ the broom, but it has not happened yet.

“Dealing with a 3 year old is very challenging, but I think eventually yes [we will have more kids] after Mike and I tie the knot, the Growing Up Hip Hop star shared with ET’s Courtney Tezeno on Tuesday.”

During the interview, Vanessa also discussed how she is love with her niece and nephew. Her sister Angela Simmons has a 1 year-old son Sutton, and her niece, Mia, who is the daughter of her younger brother, JoJo.  Because she is incredibly close to her family, Vanessa shared how she loves that all of Rev. Run’s grandchildren are around the same age.

“I love that our kids are close in age and get to grow up together, Simmons said. And we get to share those experiences together.”

Despite the fact that Angela and Vanessa are extremely close, motherhood has kept them busy. Initially, Vanessa was upset that she and Angela didn’t talk as much but she knows all too well the struggles of being a new mom with a career.

“We’re in a great space, she said of her current relationship with Angela. I think a few months ago [when we were filming the show] she was settling in to becoming a mom and trying to get back into work. I know from experience with my daughter that it can get hard, but I was just being a big sister and being like ‘hey don’t forget about me over here.’ I need my sister, so that’s what that was. I think I was being a little overly sensitive.”
