Katt Williams has been out here cuttin’ UP in these social media streets. In a recent interview on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Katt Williams, was droppin’ shade on a plethora of comics and other celebs he disapproves of, including Cedric the Entertainer, Kevin Hart, Steve Harvey, Rickey Smiley, and more.

On Wednesday, January 3, 2024, Williams let Sharpe know that he had an issue with the untruths that “low-brow comedians” had previously spoken about him on Sharpe’s show, and he referred to Cedric, Harvey, and Smiley as a “group.” He noted that the trio had been together for three decades, and each of them knew the others’ secrets. “It’s the age of truth,” he said, “and these guys aren’t just three strangers.”

Katt Slammed Cedric The Entertainer For ‘Stealing’ His Joke

Katt Williams stated that his best joke from 1998, which he was performing on “ComicView,” was then stolen by Cedric the Entertainer, who watched him in the audience and then came backstage to compliment him on it. Two years later, Cedric employed the same joke as his closing one on “The (Original) Kings Of Comedy,” without any alterations, according to Katt.

At first, Katt says he overlooked Cedric’s joke as an imitation, but reconsidered that notion after Cedric denied it was taken from Katt’s work:

“He thought I was a minor comedian and that he could use the joke and not get caught,” Katt Williams argued.

Cedric the Entertainer Responds

In the comments section of an Instagram post that featured a clip from the “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Cedric the Entertainer commented on the allegation from Williams, labeling it “revisionist history.”

Ced’  said  that Katt’s view was irrelevant, because Cedric has now starred in more than 40 movies, put on specials, and had his own brand. He also made reference to “Katt in the Hat”, which was held at the Gibson Amphitheater.

Katt Williams Shuts Down Rickey Smiley’s Claim That He Was Supposed To Have His Role In “Friday After Next”

In 2002, Williams and Smiley were part of the cast of the third installment of Ice Cube’s “Friday” series, “Friday After Next.” Williams was cast as “Money Mike,” and Smiley was cast as “Santa Claus.” In a prior interview, Smiley had told Sharpe that he had initially been assigned the role of “Money Mike.”

Williams has now come back to shut that claim down with the quickness:

“This man told you he had Katt Williams’ role. He was going to be Money Mike, and Katt Williams was going to be the Santa Claus,” Katt said to Shannon Sharpe. “We auditioned in Los Angeles. I was audition No. 201. Two-hundred Black comedians auditioned for the role of Money Mike with me. You’re saying all 201 of us was auditioning, and you had already had the role and had already shot the role in four days?”

Katt then declared that he later had a contractual term included which mandated that he would only collaborate with Smiley if he was clothed in a dress for his parts, due to what occurred on “Friday After Next”. When asked why he included that contractual term in Rickey’s contracts, Katt claimed that actors, like Rickey Smiley and Tyler Perry, both excel at playing female characters, but they are not convincing as men.

A few years later, Smiley and Williams starred together in the release of “First Sunday” in 2008. Katt declared that Rickey Smiley’s next movie was ‘First Sunday” Rickey was wearing a dress, which Katt claims was required by his contract.

Katt Williams Slammed Steve Harvey For ‘Copying Mark Curry’s Sitcom’

Katt Williams then went at Steve Harvey, who acted as a high school music instructor in the 1996 sitcom, “The Steve Harvey Show.” According to Katt, Steve jacked the idea of his sitcom from comedian, Mark Curry. Curry played teacher, “Mark Cooper,” in the sitcom “Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper,” which was first broadcast in 1992:

“The same Steve that went to go watch Mark Curry do his whole sitcom and then stole everything Mark Curry had,” Williams said. “Now Steve got a sitcom where he’s the principal and he wears a suit.”

Williams mocked Harvey’s acting abilities, mocking Steve’s prior statement that he ‘had no wish to pursue a career in the movies’:

“You couldn’t be a movie star,” Williams said. “There are 30,000 new scripts in Hollywood every year. Not one of them asked for a country bumpkin Black dude that can’t talk good … and look like Mr. Potato Head. There ain’t none. You have to have range.”

Steve Harvey Seemingly Responds

After Katt’s interview went viral, Steve Harvey seems to have responded with a simple video message, and a caption that reads:

“Everything I got, I asked God for.”

Katt Called Out Kevin Hart…Kevin Responded

As for Kevin Hart, Katt referred to him as the “Jussie Smollett of comedy.” He says that for many of the roles he turned down due to not wanting to compromise the type of comedy he stood for, Kevin Hart gladly came behind him and gathered up, without any true talent. He also referred to Kevin as an ‘industry plant’ who never earned real clout in the comedy game prior to being put on by Hollywood “gatekeepers.”

Rickey Smiley Questions Bible, Labels It As Racially Biased

In a 2018 interview with Vlad TV, Rickey Smiley was asked if he agreed with fellow comedian/radio host, D.L. Hughley, that the Black church is “the gayest place on the face of the earth.” While Smiley did not agree with D.L.’s sentiment on that, he did bring up a separate viewpoint of his own- that the Bible upholds racism and oppresses Black people:

Rickey Smiley- “I tell you what, I’m really questioning some of the Bible stories,” Smiley confessed. “And I think some of thats stuff in the Bible is set up to train Black people to be submissive to systematic racism and white supremacy. THAT I believe…THAT I definitely believe.”

Rickey then gave an example of one of the oppressive biblical teachings he’s referring to:

“‘Turn the other cheek,’ or whatever…people don’t mess with nobody that fight back. People do NOT mess with nobody that fight back. Black people have been taught to forgive and ‘turn the other cheek’ for 400 YEARS…and what has changed? NOTHING.”

Smiley: ‘Trump & Bush Used The Bible To Control Black People During Campaigns’

When Vlad pointed out that ‘the Bible was used for control’ during the slave era and that slave masters gave the Black preachers Bibles to teach the other Black folk, Rickey sternly stated:

“I believe that…I TOTALLY believe that…totally. And you have it to this day because when you see all these Black preachers that were sitting around Donald Trump…SAME thing.”

Smiley continued:

“George Bush needed 10 [percent to get re-elected] and he got it, because he went around to all those Black preachers to preach abortion and gay marriage sermons, which got Black Christians in an uproar. And 10 percent of them voted for George W. Bush…that pushed him over the top to become re-elected against John Kerry in 2004. So, yeah..and they’re being used now.

Donald Trump is promoting racism, and the White nationalism and all that stuff. … It wouldn’t be no reason for me to sit at the table and talk to him about ANYTHING, because once you identify yourself as a racist and a White supremacist, it’s nothing to talk about.”

Smiley Disagrees With Steve Harvey’s Past Support Of Trump

Vlad then mentioned how D.L. Hughley didn’t agree with his friend, Steve Harvey, meeting with Trump, to which Rickey replied:

“And neither did I. […] I didn’t agree with the decision. It has nothing to do with the respect that I have for Steve as a mentor and a big brother and a frat brother…and a best friend, you know. We’re just not gonna agree on everything.”

Still puzzled by Harvey’s decision, Smiley then tried to make sense of why Steve may have done that:

“I think Steve went with good intentions, but he probably didn’t know at the time, what he was dealing with. And I’m sure that if he had to do that all over again, he definitely wouldn’t.”

Translation: Steve Harvey probably sold out for a check in that moment and now probably regrets it, given all the coon comments and backlash he received afterwards. Moving on…

Why Everyone’s Proud Of This Teen

In case you haven’t heard, Corey Patrick, a 2018 Tarrant high school graduate, has become a viral sensation who’s bringing happy tears to many…simply for his hard work and dedication. On Monday, May 21st, bus driver, Djuana Beasley captured a photo of Corey Patrick in his cap and gown, as he was exiting her bus that morning. He touched her soul that day, because he was alone, yet beaming with pride as he walked the rest of the way to his high school graduation. The driver was so inspired by Corey’s determination to make it to his graduation by any means necessary, that she posted the above photo on social media.

Soon after posting the photo, it quickly went viral and thousands of people were moved by the level of drive Corey displayed.

After tens of thousands of shares and likes, WBRC News eventually caught up with the teen and his mother, Felicia White. Patrick told the station he rocked his cap and gown on the bus that morning, because he was incredibly proud to be graduating. “I was happy on that day,” said Corey.

His mother, Felicia, then explained why her son was on the bus for his graduation day. The family does not have a car, so they make do the best way they can. “I told Corey, well the best thing to do is just get on the bus and we will work from there,” said Corey’s mother.

Determined not to be late on his big day, Corey stated “I had to do what was necessary for me to walk this year.” His mother said that she and the rest of the family eventually found a ride and made it to the ceremony in time to see her baby walk across that stage.

Felicia White also told the news that the sheer will and determination the world has now gotten to witness in Corey’s viral photo, is a representation of who his is everyday. “Corey was getting up at 4:30 in the morning and had to be at the bus stop at 5:41 in the morning for the last year. Even when he would get out of school he couldn’t get from that side of town until 5:19 when the bus runs back over there. So he doesn’t make it back this way until about 6:30 or 7 o’clock,” said White.

A few days later, comedian/radio personality, Rickey Smiley, posted a message on social media asking the public to help him locate Corey Patrick.

By the following day (Thursday, May 24th), it was soon determined why Smiley wanted Corey’s contact info. According to BET, Rickey Smiley, Da Brat, and Tyrese Gibson announced, on ‘The Ricky Smiley Morning Show,’ that they are each chippin’ in to purchase a car for Corey Patrick. Like my momma would say, ‘Look at GAWD!’

Props to Smiley, Da Brat, and Tyrese for their generosity. We also wanna give a handclap to bus driver, DJuana Beasley, for bringing this good energy to the forefront. And of course we wish Corey Patrick much success, sky’s the limit young brotha!

Letting the Cat Out of the Bag:

On the episode, Malik was set up on a blind date by his cousin. When asked how it was going, he offered a response that has off black people everywhere. “Her face,” said Malik. “Black females are not attractive to me. I look at them like my sisters… I went to an all-white school. Sometimes people have different tastes, and I don’t have a taste for her.”

Needless to say, it didn’t take long for viewers to fire back. But, not only was Malik criticized, many fans wondered if Rickey Smiley supported his son or shared his sentiments. In fact, many began questioning the famed comedian/radio host.

Rickey wasted no time responding. He’s made it clear he’s not here for his son’s comments. On Jan. 23, Rickey took to Twitter to address the situation. He admitted he was “pissed.” He also revealed his son would be apologizing on air for his offensive comments.

Although Malik has apologized, unfortunately, many fans are still giving Rickey the side-eye. But, hopefully, the apology will eventually put out the media firestorm.
