Most of us, New Edition fans, have always had an impression of Ricky as being one of the clean cut, laid back guys in the group. But once BET’s The New Edition Story biopic came out, Ricky sure did shock the hell outta us. While the laid back description may be true about Ricky B.’s personality, he bravely decided to reveal that his squeaky clean image was not.

That’s where his wife comes in. As we saw in the biopic, it was Amy who stood by Ricky’s side through it all- even when they went dead broke and had no sure way of making money. We also watched as Ricky revealed, in the movie, that he had a very severe cocaine addiction. His wife had to deal with his addiction as best as she could, because it got so bad that it not only affected Ricky’s career, it affected their marriage.

So to see them still together today, hitting the 13 year mark is a beautiful thing. Ricky B. has been clean and sober for years now. This is what he posted about the love of his life as they celebrated their anniversary on his birthday, September 18, 2017:

It’s great to see Ricky and the whole New Edition crew become living legends right before our eyes. Things have really been looking up for them lately as well. According to what Mike Bivins revealed in a prior interview, the group members are making more money now than they have in many YEARS. That’s the way that it should be, after all that they’ve contributed to music and sacrificed as a result of.

New Edition’s Mike Bivins turned 49 on Thursday, August 10, 2017. Just one year away from his 50 year milestone, the N.E./BBD head honcho, celebrated his b-day with a whole lotta love around him.

First, a few of his N.E. brothers shouted him out on social media for all that they’ve been through together (after watching their biopic, we all know they’ve been through some crazy stuff together) and how much they appreciate him. In doing so, Ricky Bell brought up an eye-opening point, that in their young 49 years of life, they’ve already racked up 40 years of loyal friendship. Talk about a blessing! Even though they’ve had plenty of fights and arguments along the way -and according to them, they still are beefin’- somehow they continue to have genuine love for each other and that’s a beautiful thing.

Bobby Brown and Ricky Bell are no strangers to the stage. By now, everyone knows the men of New Edition are definitely crowd pleasers and fans are extremely important to them. So, when R. Kelly showed up late to a recent concert, the guys had something to say. However, they didn’t just voice their opinions. They actually filmed a video of their complaints. Now, of course, the video is going viral and fans have also responded.

Waiting For R.:

A couple days ago, the video began circulating on YouTube. The two-minute video begins with Bobby and Ricky talking about the concert as they waited for the “Seems Like You’re Ready” singer to show up. It’s unclear where the concert was supposed to be and how long the guys waited but one thing is for sure: R. Kelly wasn’t there. As Bobby and Ricky complained, they turned the camera around to show the massive crowd of fans patiently waiting for him to arrive.

Bobby’s Advice:

Bobby blasted R. Kelly for keeping fans waiting. Then, Ricky compared the R&B singer to New Edition. Although they admitted they, too, have kept fans waiting from time to time, they explained how they always make it worth the wait. Then, the video randomly flips to a scene where R. Kelly could be seen singing, “You Are So Beautiful” to a McDonald’s McRib sandwich. Although the clip had a comical ending, most fans didn’t miss Bobby’s criticism of the singer.

Now, R. Kelly fans are criticizing Bobby. Of course, everyone knows Bobby hasn’t always been the most responsible artists and he’s had a number of mishaps throughout his career. So, fans wasted no time reminding him of his own blunders.

With laughing emojis, one viewer wrote, “Bobby Brown – the man was always late talkin’.” Then, another viewer agreed, “I was just about to say something about that like how is Bobby Brown going to talk about ANYBODY being late or no showing?” Shortly after the comments were posted, many others cosigned by liking the comments.

Hopefully, these two haven’t started an R&B war criticizing R. Kelly. But at the end of the day, even the celebs can have an opinion of other celebs. These two didn’t hold their tongues.
