Rohan Marley (49), Bob Marley’s son, showed major love to his ex-love, Lauryn Hill. The father of five of Lauryn’s 6 kids, has always been one to hold his ex-Queen up in the highest regard, no matter what they went through behind closed doors. May 26, 2021 was no different, when he took to Instagram to send a b-day message to Lauryn for her 46th birthday.

Rohan Marley’s Loving B-Day Message To Lauryn

Like his beloved Jamaican father, Rohan Marley is a devoted Rastafarian. In his many online posts, he makes that very clear and in his b-day post to Lauryn Hill, instead of wishing her a ‘happy birthday,’ he sent her the “BLESSED EARTH STRONG” salute. ‘Blessed (or happy) earth strong’ is the common Jamaican patois phrase used among Rastas, to represent the number of years one has been going strong on this earth.

Lauryn Hil Give Thanks for B-Day Wishes
In an Instagram post, Lauryn Hill shared a touching medssage for everyone who sent her love on her forty-sixth orbit around teh sun:

Their Kids From Other Relationships

While we’re on the topic of Lauryn’s offspring, little is known about Lauryn’s seldomly-seen 9-year-old son, Micah Hill, but you can check out a throwback photo of him below…

“Mr. Marley and I have a long and complex history about which MANY inaccuracies have been reported since the beginning,” Hill wrote on her website. “To speculate without the facts can only cause people to form WRONG conclusions.”

Prior to Lauryn releasing her statement, many fans bashed Rohan for ‘not supporting’ Lauryn throughout her pregnancy with Micah, due to their assumptions that he was Micah’s dad. However, out of his respect for Lauryn, Rohan refrained from letting the public know the child was not his. He left that up to Lauryn to clear up, before speaking on the topic in 2011:

“People would rather listen to gossip than hear from the actual individuals,” Rohan Marley tweeted. “Some people just don’t want the truth.”

Rohan Expressed Regret After Split From Lauryn

Following their split, Rohan did an interview expressing how much he still loved Lauryn and the regrets he has:

“I feel sad that I loved her so much and I faltered in expressing it to her somehow. It was my fault that she did not understand how I felt, and it was sad that we did not work out in that relationship sense. I was heartbroken for a long time.”

It’s sad that Lauryn’s and Rohan’s relationship couldn’t last, but they seem to be a happily blended co-parenting family today. That’s a beautiful thing.

We don’t know about y’all, but to us it seems like it wasn’t that long ago when Lauryn was singing about her first and only child at the time, Zion, on her album, Mis-education of Lauryn Hill. In a statement to Undefeated, Selah said,  “I’m not trying to necessarily copy my mom; it’s in my DNA … it’s been passed down to me. I think she’s one of the greatest. But now, the funny thing is, I know who I am, but I was still like, ‘Yo – that’s Lauryn Hill; that’s my mom.’”

Joshua Marley pretty much stays outta the limelight. However, the  fly-under-the-radar rapper has released a few singles on Soundcloud in recent years.

Zephaniah is the son of Lauryn’s and Rohan’s 20 year old son, Zion Marley (shown above). Rohan refers to Lauryn as their grandson’s “Bama,” although it’s unclear what that means. Anywho, needless to say, little Zephaniah is gonna have quite the multicultural upbringing- his grandmommy’s soulful/hip hop roots; his grandpops’ Rasta roots; his great-grandpops’ Rasta roots and half Syrian-Jewish bloodline; his daddy, Zion’s, hip hop roots; and his mother, Tanasa’s….well not much is really known about Zephaniah’s mother (shown below), but she’s beautiful though.

Lauryn’s Rarely Seen Sixth Child & Past Confusion About His Dad

Together Lauryn Hill and Rohan Marley share 5 children. Rohan also has two older children from a prior relationship. For the longest, fans had assumed that Lauryn’s sixth child, Micah, was Rohan’s son, because most did not know they’d broken up after 10 years. In 2011, shortly after giving birth to Micah (who’s real father’s identity remains a secret) Lauryn released a statement to fans about Rohan:

Lauryn Hill, 42, and her ex, Rohan Marley, 45, (son of the iconic Bob Marley), were together for 15 years strong. Although they’re relationship didn’t last, they still have a great friendship. That’s a beautiful thing, especially since they have five wonderful kids they’re co-parenting together. Lauryn also has her sixth child- 5 year old son, Micah- with an unnamed father. Rohan has two adult children from his previous marriage as well.

It’s Lauryn’s and Rohan’s precious grandbaby who’s grabbing all of the attention in this article though. As we previously reported, Lauryn’s and Rohan’s eldest child (together), Zion Marley, had his baby boy, Zeph Marley, in February 2017. Based on the recent pics that surfaced of the Hill-Marley bunch, it’s clear to see that lil’ Zeph is grabbing most of the attention within his family too.

Check out how the two exes linked up to celebrate their grandson…nope it wasn’t Zeph’s birthday, nor anything of the sort. Hill and Marley just did what many grandparents do- celebrated their grandbaby and shower him with love simply because they’re proud to be Zeph’s grandparents…
