The newly reunited Xscape members- Kandi Burruss, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, LaTocha Scott, and Tamika Scott- were at their former boss, Jermaine Dupri’s office the other day. Why is that a big deal for Xscape fans? Because it was just in May (2017) that they had a serious problem with Kandi’s ex boo-thang, Dupri (if y’all don’t know about that, we’ll feel you in in a minute) over their conflicting upcoming biopics.

Authorized Xscape Biopic Announcement & Slamming of Unauthorized Biopic:

Remember when Xscape announced their upcoming TV biopic with reality show producer, Mona Scott, and took jabs at TV One over their’s? If not, this is it:

‘We are excited to join forces with Mona Scott-Young and Monami Entertainment to bring the real Xscape story to the world. This partnership will allow us to tell our story about our lives the way we lived it. It’s our truth about the rise, the fall, and the return of Xscape. We feel the recent announcement of an unauthorized biopic on our lives is disrespectful and disappointing. We are not, in any way, participating in that project and it will never ‘represent’ our true story.’

And of course many of you may recall when TV One announced their upcoming Xscape biopic, which Jermaine Dupri was later revealed to be involved with. Here was their recent announcement as well:

‘This original film is based on the story on of 90s R&B quartet Xscape, whose story of their rise to fame and group implosion was told on an episode of TV One’s award-winning docu-series, Unsung. Comprised of sisters LaTocha and Tamika Scott, and classmates Kandi Burruss and Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, the R&B quartet formed a sisterhood as strong as their sound, recording the #1 hits “Just Kickin’ It,” “Understanding” and “Who Can I Run To?” Since their breakup in 1998, attempts to reunite the group have failed with lingering bitterness and deep seeded anger playing out on public forums.’

Fast forward to today, and all four Xscape members- LaTocha, Tamika, Tiny, and a seemingly somewhat annoyed Kandi- were sitting in Jermaine’s office, as he filmed the quartet for his social media followers. Apparently, he was happy to have them there, but Kandi looked like she’d rather be someplace else, and on second thought, so did Tiny. Throughout the seconds-long clip, Jermaine seemed enthusiastic though.

We’re not sure if Jermaine’s enthusiasm means they’ve come to a common ground regarding those double biopics, or if Jermaine Dupri was just happy to see his former artists (and boo) all in the same room together again without fighting. It’s a toss up on that one folks.

Kandi’s & Jermaine’s Past ‘Relations’

Anyways, back to Kandi and Jermaine’s past: She was once his artist. She and Jermaine hooked up during the height of Xscape’s success. That caused tension with one of the members, Tamika Scott, who blasted Kandi on the radio a few years ago over it. Kandi demanded an apology, Tamika ultimately gave her one for wrongly blaming her for the group’s breakup and lying on her by falsely claiming she’d messed around with Jermaine’s father as well. The rest is history and 18 years later, here they are…bada-bang-bada-boom!

Now back to their music: I don’t know ’bout y’all, but I’m looking forward to that new Xscape album…and that biopic…it seems they’ve got a LOT of stories to tell.

The daughter of Xscape member, Tamika Scott, is getting married! Tamika’s daughter, O’Shun Reney, 23, is getting married this year to a man, whom some Xscape fans were surprised to learn that she’s been dating for awhile. Last year, O’Shun took to Facebook to share the exciting news by posting a photo of her engagement ring, acknowledging that her longtime boyfriend, Aaron Wilson, had finally popped the question. Not only does Tamika Scott have a beautiful daughter, but she’s smart too. If you look at Scott’s Instagram page, it’s apparent that she loves her family. Tamika’s filled with excitement over her daughter’s upcoming wedding as she took to Instagram to post a picture of the lovely couple. Back in 2015, the proud mom shared a throwback photo of her daughter and her longtime boyfriend as she celebrated O’Shun’s accomplishments. Tamika’s daughter graduated from college with a degree in Human Resources. Before graduating from college, she graduated from high school with honors. Check out O’Shun and her hubby-to-be below…

Tamika’s Scott life has been filed with positivity this year! The songstress has an upcoming tour that has already sold out in several cities. Her oldest daughter, O’Shun, is getting married and her other daughters have accomplished big things as well.

Aside from O’Shun, Scott has 2 other daughters. Scott’s middle daughter, Taniyah, who she refers to as her ‘mini-me,’ recently graduated from high school. Just like her older sister, O’Shun, Taniyah graduated with honors too. Calling her daughter a “star in the making”, like her mother, Taniyah is musically talented. Calling herself the ” Princess Of Da South” Taniyah raps and she’s pretty good too. While we are acknowledging her musical talents, it’s awesome that Taniyah is putting her education first.

If you didn’t know, Tamika welcomed a daughter, Princess Armani J’Adore, with her husband Darnell in July of 2013. Would you believe that she’s musically talented too? It’s really not that hard to believe as her mother and aunt, LaTocha Scott, both can sang! The mother captured her daughter, who starts Pre-K soon, singing and dancing to Taylor Swift. Could it be that Scott’s daughters have a future in music too like their mom? Check out the adorable video below!

Aside from being a mother to three beautiful daughters, Scott is a wife and she’s been keeping busy in the entertainment industry as well. While Xscape was on a hiatus, Scott was building her resume as an actress, singer, producer, and songwriter. You may be surprised to know that Scott created songs for several Tyler Perry films as well as the stage plays. She describes herself as an awesome writer and we would have to agree as we’ve witnessed her phenomenal writing abilities on a few of the classic Xscape songs. Congrats to the Scott family as they have lots to celebrate.
