WHAT TOMMY FORD REVEALED ABOUT HIS EMPLOYMENT AFTER “MARTIN”

What Tommy revealed is actually impressive, because it showed that he was determined to get his.

After “Martin” was wrapped for good, Tommy Ford was fortunate enough to expand his horizons as an actor, director, film producer. He also once said that his constant residual checks from the syndication of sitcoms like “Martin,” and “The Parkers” (which he also had a role on) was a “blessing” and allowed he and his family to live well.

Additionally, Tommy publicly expressed his gratitude to Eddie Murphy for giving him his first movie role in the ’89 classic, “Harlem Knights.” Many years later Tommy, in turn, gave Eddie’s daughter her first acting role in his movie, “Conflict Of Interest”…where Eddie’s daughter played Tommy’s daughter on film. Saying Goodbye To A Longtime Friend:

On October 22, Tichina Arnold took to Instagram with a photo of the cast following Tommy’s funeral. The photo included a photo of her, Tisha Campbell, and Carl Anthony Payne. In the caption, she explained how difficult it was to lay a good friend to rest. She also did a little damage control explaining why the full cast was not photoed. Although everyone wasn’t in the picture she posted, she made it clear they all were there and there was no love lost:

“Today was not easy..but by the grace of God we all got through it. Words cannot express our gratitude for all of your Prayers, Positive thoughts and Support for us throughout the years. Tommy will be missed but most certainly never forgotten… And PLEASE don’t ask “Where’s Martin?..” he was there too…just not in this picture. Lol! God bless you all.. #LoveConquersAll #MartinShow

Martin remembers Tommy:

Although Martin wasn’t photographed, he has spoken about his relationship with Tommy. Shortly after his death was confirmed, Martin talked with Entertainment Tonight to give fans the real deal – straight from the heart:

“Tommy was not only a great costar, but he was a great mand and friend. He always brought with him his spirituality, a positive attitude, and so much joy. I am sad the world lost a great talent and that I lost a wonderful friend. God bless him and his family.”

It’s sad that he even had to consider his death at such a young age (52), but Tommy seemed to be a realist and was okay with looking at the unfortunate fact that not many “Black men live to be 102,” as he stated. But it’s still very eery to know that he almost seemed to be expecting his death to happen soon and lo and behold, what you are about to hear is his last opportunity to do an interview, which was with Xcellence Community Magazine founder, Dr. Angella Banks. TMZ obtained a copy of Tommy’s interview, check it out below…

Tommy always jokingly said “I got a job dawg!” because he said so many fans always asked him something about having a job, because of his character on “Martin.” But Tommy never seemed to mind that comparison and that’s a beautiful thing.

Well now Tommy’s job here is done and an excellent job it was indeed…not just with his acting career, but with his role as a father; a man who lived by his personal morals, never compromising them for anyone; and as his close friend Martin Lawrence said, “Tommy was a great man and friend…who always brought his positive attitude and so much joy” everywhere he touched down. Tommy Mykal Ford rest easy King.

Details via TMZ: Tommy Ford — who played Tommy on the ’90s hit show “Martin” — has died … TMZ has learned. Tommy passed away Wednesday in an Atlanta hospital surrounded by family and friends. As we reported, Ford had been on life support after an aneurysm ruptured in his abdomen. He was initially hospitalized Sunday, and his health had declined since. Family made the decision to turn off support this afternoon.

Our deepest condolences go out to Tommy’s wife, family and children during this heartbreaking time. Tommy Mikal Ford gone way too soon, but will NEVER be forgotten. Rest well Tommy.

Send prayers to the family of Tommy Ford. One of our favorite characters who famously played Tommy on the ’90s sitcom “Martin” — is on life support at an Atlanta hospital.

Conflicting Reports:

There are conflicting reports that he has actually passed away, but he was certainly on life support after an aneurysm ruptured in his abdomen. Most news outlets are reporting that he has died, but the information has not yet been confirmed by his family.

Declining Health:

His wife tell TMZ that Ford has been hospitalized since Sunday and his health has declined ever since.

He is currently on life support and is not expected to make it through the day.
Earlier, Ford’s friend, Anthony Anderson, tweeted that Ford had died — but at the time, he was still alive.

Ford’s wife, Gina, says the family is still praying for him.

Tommy starred in all 5 seasons of “Martin” as the title character’s level-headed best friend, who often played a straight man to Martin’s crazy antics.

He also appeared on “New York Undercover,” “The Jamie Foxx Show” and “The Parkers.”
Ford also wrote children’s books that promoted drug-free and violence-free lifestyles.

Before His Declining Illness:

Before his death, he had a knee replacement surgery as he shared on his Instagram.
