Legendary actor, Wesley Snipes, addressed a decades-old topic that many Prince and Michael Jackson fans have often wondered about: How did he end up getting his first breakout role in MJ’s “Bad” video? Okay, so that’s not really what MJ’s and Prince’s fans want to know, but what happened behind the scenes of “I’m Bad” between MJ and Prince, is the thing that’s peaked the interests of millions.

You see, several years ago, Prince revealed that it was him, who actually was supposed to play the role of the gang banger that MJ was beefin’ with in his “Bad” video. However, things went downhill during his meeting with Michael Jackson. We’ll get to that in a minute, but first let’s look at Wesley’s version of how he landed the part…

In his interview on The Conan O’Brien Show, Snipes was asked about the rumor regarding Prince being in the “Bad” video.” Wesley then said that Michael actually tossed Prince to the side and chose him instead:

“Me and Prince were auditioning together and I blew Prince outta the water for that role in “I’m Bad,” Snipes said. […] “Michael actually told Prince that he had the role and then he met me.”

At first it was tough to decipher if Wesley was joking or not. But when Conan asked him if his claims were true, Wesley said, “Yes, this is a true story. Prince was actually considered the lead character in the “Bad” video, and then Michael met me and kicked Prince to the curb.”

So, that brings us back to Prince- he gave a totally different version of the story and based on the fact that both he and MJ were superstars by the time of the “Bad” video, it’s hard to believe that he was “auditioning” for a MJ video, like Wesley Snipes claimed. Prince revealed that he turned the role down in an interview with comedic actor, Chris Rock. When Rock asked Prince about the “Bad” video rumor, Prince hilariously broke down exactly what happened…

Prince: You know that Wesley Snipes character? That would’ve been me…LOL. To put it better…the first line in that song is, “Your butt is mind.” Now, I said who gon’ sing that to whom? ‘Cause you sure ain’t singing that to me…and I sure ain’t singing it to you, LOL. So right there we got a problem…it was an interesting meeting though.

Wesley Snipes’ version was still entertaining, but again, I believe the version coming directly from the source’s mouth -Prince- instead. We’ve still got nothin’ but love for you though Wesley.

This Swagged Out Kid Became A Hollywood Legend Who Many People Love To Hate

This happy-go-lucky kid in the photo grew up to be one of the most controversial celebrities in entertainment. Although he is loved by millions, he is also hated by many. Throughout his career, he never seemed to really give a d*mn though, and that is why his fans love him. If you guessed Spike Lee, you were right on point!

The childhood photo of Spike in all his swagged out glory, was snapped when he was still running around Brooklyn, NY and going by his birth name, Shelton Jackson Lee. Little did Brooklyn know, a controversial, legendary filmmaker was being bred right there in their presence.

Speaking of Spike and his controversial ways, by now we all have probably heard that Spike is one of the many mega-celebs who vowed to drop this year’s Oscars like a bad habit, but something else we found to be just as interesting is that in November 2015, Spike was awarded an honorary Oscar at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ seventh annual Governors Awards. What makes it interesting is that in true form of the man whom folks love to hate, Spike once again, didn’t give a damn about what the Oscar execs thought of him, as he shamed them during his acceptance speech at their own event. The award was presented to him by his long time friends, Denzel Washington, Samuel Jackson, and Wesley Snipes.

Staying consistent with what he has been stating- that our problem doesn’t begin with the Oscars, it starts in Hollywood- Spike blasted Hollywood and the Oscars organization for their lack of diversity in all forms-in front and behind the camera. The conservative crowd sat there almost in shock that Lee picked such a time to voice his frustration- a time when some thought that he should have just been grateful for a trophy, as opposed to staying true to his values and concerns about the industry. “I don’t know if you noticed, but the United States Census Bureau says that by the year, 2043, White Americans are gonna be the minority in this country. And for all of the people out there who are in a position of hiring, you better get smart ’cause you’ll work for us. You should reflect what this country looks like.

And I’mma get real here, everybody in here probably voted for Obama but when I go to offices, I see no Black folks except for the brother man at the security who checks my name off the list as I go into the studio. So we can talk ‘yabba yabba yabba’ but we need to have some serious discussion about diversity and get some flavor up in this. This industry is so behind sports it’s ridiculous.

It’s easier to be the president of the United States as a Black person than be the head of a studio. Honestly, it’s easier to be president of the United States than the head of a studio or head of network,” said Spike Lee to a room that was stunned, but applauded his words at the same time.

Can U Believe This Old School Actor REJECTED Empire’s Lucious Lyon Role?

You know the Old School saying, ‘a hard head makes a soft a____?’ Well we typically wouldn’t use that expression toward one of our favorite Old School celebs, but in this case, it applies and we couldn’t fight the urge to keep it real with him.

You see, there is a very accomplished actor whom we all know, that was the first choice for the role of “Lucious Lyon” (Terence Howard’s character) on the hit TV show, Empire, also starring Taraji P. Henson. Apparently Terence wasn’t supposed to be on the show at all, had the producers and director had their way, but this actor you’re about to see, actually turned the role down when it came across his agents desk. BIG MISTAKE! But hey, we don’t wanna rub it in his face, we’re sure- whether he admits it or not- he probably feels bad enough for passing up that payday. See who he is…
