In case you’re not a soap opera watcher, like many of us are not here at ILOSM, you probably missed the fact that Bryton has been earning “The Young & The Restless” money for 17 years now! He plays the character, “Devon,” on the show.  Check out Bryton now at 34 years old and get reminded of just how Old School we ALL are! It seems like this dude was just a kid yesterday! Geesh!

Talk about getting over the childhood actor hump…Bryton has completely shattered that whole kid actor stigma that so many other child actors unfortunately go through once they get older. They’re often typecast as just being a kid actor in Hollywood, making it difficult for them to find constant work as an adult. Bryton must have had a helluva team around him because he has found a way to break that mold. This is news to many of us who just assumed that the man’s career had long ago rested in peace in Hollywood heaven or something.

Here are a few other facts we found out about Bryton:

He’s been acting since he was 2 years old.

He was once married to actress, Ashley Leisinger, in 2011, but they divorced in 2014.

He’s now in a reported relationship with his Young and the Restless co-star, Brytni Sarpy…

He has no kids as of yet.

Bryton often pays homage to Michael Jackson on social media, because he worked with the ‘King’ when he was younger and ultimately got to know him pretty well.

Bryton is of mixed heritage, his mother is Caucasian…

His father is African American…

Remember Victoria Rowell, the actress who played “Drucilla Winters” on The Young & The Restless? Well, one thing many don’t know is that she has a child with a very well known music artist, whose been in the game for decades. In fact, he comes from a very well known family and they dated for years, but never married.

MEET THE FAMOUS FATHER OF HER SON

Victoria’s ex and father of her child is none other than Wynton Marsalis, the famous 9 time Grammy winning jazz musician.

You may have heard of him, he’s a member of the infamous Marsalis family– the jazz family consisting of Wynton’s Dad, Ellis Marsalis Jr.; and his brothers, Branford, Delfeayo, and Jason Marsalis. Wynton’s grandfather was also a jazz a musician who started it all for their family’s path, he’s the late Ellis Marsalis Sr.

MEET THEIR SON

Victoria and Wynton have a son named Jasper Marsalis, who looks a lot like his Pops. Jasper is a 25 year old graduate of CooperUnion/ Advancement Science & Art. Like his parents, he is a creative person with a bubbling career as a rap artists and musician. Jasper’s stage name is Slauson Malone. Peep an example of his work below…

Wynton Marsalis and Victoria Rowell were previously in a seven year relationship. Although the relationship ended several years ago, they’ve seemingly maintained a great friendship for the sake of co-parenting their son throughout the years.

VICTORIA ROWELL’S PRIOR RELATIONSHIPS & RUMORS

Victoria moved on and was once rumored to be dating rapper, 50 Cent, around 2007, but that was never confirmed. The only thing that they did confirm was that they were great friends, with Victoria reportedly revealing in a prior radio interview, that she’s cooked breakfast for 50 Cent before…hmmmm.

Anywho, after the ’50 Cent rumor,’ Victoria tied the knot with Atlanta artist, Radcliffe Bailey, in 2009. Unfortunately, they divorced in 2014, and had no children together, so their divorce was pretty simple. The only thing they allegedly requested of each other in the divorce settlement, is that neither one of them bothers, nor harasses the other, which was a lil’ weird, but at least it was amicable.

WHAT VICTORIA ROWELL IS DOING NOW ACTING

So, what is Victoria Rowell doing nowadays? For starters, homegirl is aging gracefully at 61 years young.

She’s an advocate for equal rights/equal opportunity for African Americans within the entertainment world. She even filed a racial discrimination lawsuit against CBS (the home of The Young & The Restless) in February 2015.

In a prior series of tweets, Victoria threw shade at the entertainment industry for not having enough African-Americans in higher ranking, decision making positions. “Young & Restless on air for 40 years, loyally watched by their absolute competitive-edge audience (blacks) & not one black Exec producer?,” she tweeted.

These days she’s is still doing what she does best- acting, producing, writing, and directing various projects, including her own, “The Rich and The Ruthless”…

The legendary Wynton Marsalis is doing what he, too, does best – making his trumpet sing a beautiful song for audiences worldwide.

Victoria down the isle. I guess she seems him as a big brother or father figure, so that probably was an honor for Jackson to do. Y’all know Samuel Jackson has a tendency to let more than a few curse words slip out every now and then, but I’m pretty sure he behaved himself at the wedding…LOL.

Here’s a very random Old School fun fact about Victoria: She wasn’t always an actress, she actually was a ballet dancer, but she’s stated that she could never go as far as her ballet friends were able to go at that time, because she was Black.

So what’s she doing nowadays? One thing she’s doing is aging gracefully: Victoria’s 56 years old now and she’s just as beautiful as ever.

The lawsuit is still pending.

Victoria is still doing what she does best- acting. You can catch her on Netflix in a new movie that Queen Latifah produced titled, November Rule. The film also stars singer, Macy Gray, actresses Tatyana Ali (of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air), LaLa Anthony and more.
