Halle Berry to portray her in her biopic? Halle was like “Uh-uh, I can’t sing!” She respectfully declined after Aretha herself went to Halle and pitched the biopic to her. I’ve gotta be honest, I’m glad Halle turned that role down because it would have been too much of a stretch on so many levels…kind of like how Zoe Saldana is starring as Nina Simone in her biopic…it’s just all wrong in my humble opinion.

Halle’s acting is superb, but you get my point. Not sure why Aretha chose Halle, but that was a deal worth falling through and I think Jennifer Hudson is a better choice…at least she can sing and act. So let’s sit back and wait to see if that deal gets signed on the dotted line.
