Oh No…Bad News For Janet Jackson’s Tour, Will She Continue?

Posted On : September 18, 2017

When Janet Jackson announced her State of the World tour, fans everywhere flooded her social media posts expressing excitement about the upcoming performances. But, despite all of the hype about Janet’s big tour, there seems to be a big problem. According to RadarOnline, Billboard’s Boxscore shows that Janet Jackson’s ticket sales are suffering.

Drastic Decline In Ticket Sales:

It has been reported that the numbers from Janet Jackson’s recent concert in Austin, Texas weren’t what she may have expected. Janet’s recent concert at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, TX suffered severely because it’s being said that she barely packed half of the venue. Although the venue holds approximately 10,560 people, only 4,973 tickets were sold for the concert, which brings the gross sales to $430,010.

But despite the decline in ticket sales, many fans have taken to social media with great reviews about Janet’s performance. In fact, fans aren’t the only people responding. On September 17th, rapper Cardi B also took to social media to gush about Janet’s showing her love by dancing to her hit single, “Bodak Yellow.” Several clips of Janet gettin’ down on stage are also circulating on social media.

I really can't even believe this .Its soo surreal .Like ommmmmmmgggg son this the type of shit you dream about .Thank you Janet Jackson for showing Bodak Yellow some love.Im so happy .

Unfortunately, Janet isn’t the only iconic performer to see a decline in ticket sales. By now, everyone has heard that R. Kelly’s current tour ticket sales reportedly plummeted due to ongoing controversy, accusations, and bad press. But unlike R. Kelly, there may be a legitimate reason for Janet Jackson’s decline.

Mother Nature to Blame?:

Since the state of Texas and parts of Louisiana were devastated by Hurricane Harvey just days before Janet’s tour kicked off, it’s probably safe to say Mother Nature may be to blame for the slow start to the State of the World tour. There have been no reports or indications of Janet contemplating cancellation. The last time Janet postponed the tour was due to pregnancy so fans probably shouldn’t worry because Janet usually doesn’t cancel unless there’s a serious reason because she’s dedicated to her fans.
