From music to film, Vanessa Williams has captivated fans of all ages. Most of us Old Schoolers remember all too well when the 54 year old bangin’ beauty became a known face in 1984, after garnering much attention when she was crowned Miss America. We also recall that infamous moment her Miss America crown was snatched after she found herself at the center of controversy due to her hot and heavy Penthouse magazine photos that were printed without her consent.

But despite her pageantry setback, Williams’ career evolved onto bigger and better things. In the late 80’s she dropped timeless hits like “Dreamin,'” “Running Back to You,” “The Comfort Zone,” and the Academy Award-Winning “Colors of the Wind,” to co-starring in memorable films like Eraser, Shaft, and of course Soul Food, Williams has done a lot in her career. In 2016, she also launched a fashion line. Through all of her accomplishments, most of her fans never knew she isn’t the only member of the Williams fam’ who has made a name for themselves in the entertainment world…

Chris Williams has an impressive filmography, with a long list of credits for his work in numerous films like The Joneses, Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story and Lottery Ticket, and TV shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Martin, Californication, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In fact, one of his first memorable roles was in Friday After Next, when he played the hilarious crackhead, ‘Broadway Bill,’ who robbed ‘Money Mike’s’ (Katt Williams) clothing store and ultimately got busted by ‘Craig’ (Ice Cube) and ‘Day-Day’ (Mike Epps). ‘Money Mike’ then proceeded to try to slice him up with an old school box cutter, as ‘Broadway Bill’ taunted him and to this day, that scene is still one of the funniest in the movie. About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
