Legendary rapper-turned actress, MC Lyte, raised quite a few eyebrows recently, when she gave her opinion on the countless sexual harassement claims and/or lawsuits we’ve all been seeing in the news lately.

Simply put, the “Georgy Porgey” MC brought a very thought provoking, yet sensitive point to the table. Based on the countless sexual assault claims we’ve been hearing against many celebs, some of them seem very bad, while others have made many give the accusers the side eye. Apparently, Lyte is one of the side eye givers in this equation and she explained why. *Scroll down for video*

MC Lyte’s Prior Post That Caused A Ruckus Online

The other day, MC Lyte posted a meme on social media that read, ‘Sexual harassment or flirting- probably determined by whether she likes him.’ Along with the meme, her photo caption read:

“Some of y’all flirt on Monday to get what you want and then he/she flirts back on Friday and you mad?! #toomuch #interofficeblues

Many thought that was an excellent point to raise, in reference to some of the stories we’ve been hearing, while others felt that MC Lyte was being too hard on the accusers.

Stories, such as one model’s claim against Russell Simmons, has raised suspicions among many online. As we previously reported, model, Keri Claussen Khalighi, recently made claims that Russell Simmons sexually assaulted her in the 1990’s. She alleged that he ‘briefly’ penetrated her against her will, after she’d willingly performed oral sex on him. Khalighi stated that although she performed oral sex on Russell, she did not want to have vaginal sex with him and that that is where he crossed the line. Russell, on the other hand, has adamantly denied not only claims, but the other recent accuser’s claims as well. He’s also voluntarily taken a lie detector test to prove his innocence and passed, according to his attorney.

It wasn’t until after these claims came out against Simmons, that MC Lyte decided to speak out about the sex scandal topic. So it seems as if she’s speaking about allegations, such as that one against Simmons and any others that are similar. Although Lyte didn’t specify which allegations she’s referring to that need to be reassessed as ‘flirting,’ some people wasted no time leaving comments under her now deleted post in opposition of her stance.
