Wendy Williams Bursts Into Tears On Air, Gets Dragged To Hell For Tearfully Defending R. Kelly

Posted On : May 8, 2018

If there’s one person who never holds back when it comes to slamming celebrities, it’s Wendy Williams. Over the years, the outspoken talk show host has gained quite a reputation because she’s never had a problem tellin’ it like it is. In fact, many people would probably agree that Wendy has a habit of talking things a bit too far from time to time. However, there’s one celebrity you won’t ever hear her slam – R. Kelly. So, how serious is she when it comes to R. Kelly? Apparently, she’s so serious, that merely talking about R. Kelly actually brings her to tears. Wendy Williams turned heads when her show aired on Monday, May 7, 2018, because she ended up in tears when she mentioned Kellz and the mounting sexual misconduct allegations he’s facing.

A Rare Wendy Moment:

When it comes to controversial topics, Wendy is usually the queen of controversy, offering her unsolicited opinion during the ‘Hot Topics’ segment of her show. There have been times where Wendy has rubbed viewers the wrong way, by criticizing alleged victims for speaking out on abuse they claim to have suffered. The talk show host had quite a few words for actor, Terry Crews, and Nelly’s accuser, but regardless of the allegations against R. Kelly, Wendy appears to pity the Grammy Award-winning singer. Despite his countless hits, classic albums, and impressive career accolades, Wendy has admitted that there’s a side of R. Kelly fans will never see. Surprisingly, she also made it clear it’s something she will never discuss…

Keeping Secrets:

Although many people believe Wendy Williams can’t hold water, she made it clear that when it comes to R. Kelly, there are things he’s told her that she will never repeat (presumably things she feels that if he told the world, could speak volumes about his character). So, instead of focusing on the allegations R. Kelly is facing, Wendy opted to offer fans a glimpse of some of the singer’s lifelong battles that Kelly apparently doesn’t mind her speaking on. But Wendy definitely didn’t go as far as she probably could have. After briefly mentioning the allegations, she quickly flipped the script to defend R. Kelly:

“He can’t read, he can’t write. And he can’t add….And I won’t tell you how he said how he maneuvers through the world, and things like that.”

She went on to criticize many of the parents who expose their children to alleged predatory people, in hopes of making them child stars:

“But the idea, that people are surrounding you and someone wouldn’t put you in school. I can’t understand how not knowing how to read, write and add and I don’t understand parents who unleash their kids (starts crying)…” Wendy abruptly cut the discussion short saying, “That’s it.”

The Great Debate:

As expected, Wendy’s defense of R. Kelly has led to a heated debate on social media. While some fans see where Wendy is coming from, others still argue that R. Kelly’s life struggles aren’t a legitimate excuse for his behavior. So, of course, Wendy is being dragged yet again for her opinion. Of course, she’s entitled to her opinion, but people can also disagree with her views and that’s exactly what’s happening. Some fans are stating that Wendy Williams’ pity of R. Kelly is exactly how master manipulators operate; flipping the script to make themselves appear as the victims. “No excuses! So what he is illiterate… There are other men that have overcome the shortfalls of struggling in the school system without being a f**king menace to society,” one person wrote.

Wendy’s statements have also sparked a media firestorm on Twitter:
