Wendy Williams Fires Staffers, Throws Blame On THEM For Her Racist Remarks

Posted On : August 3, 2016

Wendy Williams isn’t one to mince words and she’s been notorious for offering an unsolicited opinion on controversial topics, but this time around, the outspoken talk show host is throwing the blame on someone else – her staffers. In fact, she was reportedly so angry that she fired several of them following the backlash she received for the seemingly racist remarks she made on the show.

For those who missed, Wendy recently ruffled some feathers like she usually does. This time, her comments were in reference to the NAACP and HBCUs.

“I must say to you, he was on BET. His speech was very poignant,” she said. “On the other hand, I would be really offended if there was a school that was known as a historically white college. We have historically black colleges. What if there was the National Organization for White People, only? There’s the NAACP.”

However, she didn’t stop there. “National speeches like this will always rub people the wrong way just like white people will be offended because Spelman College is a historically black college for women. You might feel funny about that. I know I’d feel funny, like I just told you. If there was a white college or whatever.”

The comments landed Wendy in hot water and she even found herself at the center of a scathing response from Roland Martin who slammed her for the offensive comments she made.

Roland-MartinIn fact, Wendy even invited Roland on The Wendy Williams Show and apologized for the comments. But, an inside source has revealed Wendy actually different plans and ultimately did not take the blame for the comments. One day after a staff party, longtime show producer Jason Gabel and other the staff members received a daunting call where they were reportedly informed of their termination.

“The crew had a big party celebrating what they considered a season well done, and the next day [some of them] got calls saying they’d been let go,” an insider said.

A representative for The Wendy Williams Show has yet to comment about the allegations.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
