Walking Addict

Wendy Williams has been through a lot to become the talk show titan she is today.

And when it comes to her past drug addiction, the 54-year-old has always been candid. On Tuesday, Wendy told her audience that she is a still “walking addict.” The mom-of-one admits being a substance abuse user is a “lifelong battle.”

Addiction Almost Killed Her

Wendy admitted her almost ten year drug addiction almost killed her. “You know this about me. I told you I’ve had my bout with substance abuse. Once you’re a substance abuse user, you have to battle that for the rest of your life. Crack is wack. I was a mess, killing myself.”

“I realized I am a walking addict. You can’t just clean it up and stop it. I wasted a lot of my life burning my insides.  You never know when it can pop up. I constantly have to watch the inside of my body because of hard partying, just a mess,” Wendy added.

Williams has been away from her talk show for almost two months due to her ongoing battle with her thyroids which is associated with her Graves’ disease. The gossip queen was greeted with ear – shattering applause from her audience, after returning to her show for the first time since December on Monday.

“They are adjusting my thyroid meds, and then the eyeballs attached to the thyroid — which is my Graves’ Disease,” explained Williams. “And I always have equilibrium stuff, with my vertigo and a million other things. And I’m the kind of patient — if I cough, I’m thinking I’m dying.” She then added: “I can’t even tell you how many doctors I have. But I want to shout out each and everyone of you. Thank you so much.”

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
