Whitney Houston Fans Slam Chris Rock After Making ‘Tasteless’ Joke

Posted On : April 29, 2019

This past February marked the seven year anniversary of legendary singer Whitney Houston’s death and it’s still a very touchy subject for her huge fan base all over the world. The beloved singer, whose struggles with drugs were greatly documented through tabloids for many years, holds a special place in people’s hearts, leaving behind a legacy that should be revered and respected. Clearly, controversial comedian Chris Rock did NOT get that memo as a joke he made about Whitney over the weekend has landed him in hot water. Especially with one person in particular, Whitney’s ex-husband Bobby Brown.

Laid Back And Unbothered

During a 1990 interview in London Whitney, donning gold-rimmed shades that hid her eyes from the world, touched on a multitude of topics while her body language read “I really don’t want to be here right now“. Hence, a meme was born.

Pretty tame, right? Well, Chris decided to take the shock factor of this meme (which is at zero) and crank it all the way up to one million. According to The Blast on Saturday Chris, who’s been known to push the envelope with his comedy at times, decided to add his own comments to the meme and it offended almost everyone who saw it.

Rock took to Instagram on Saturday and put up a meme featuring Houston wearing sunglasses, and looking less-than impressed during a sit-down interview.

“Hurry up I got crack to smoke,” he captioned the meme, opening him up to a slew of comments from followers who were less than impressed.

Bruh…why man? Apparently Chris forgot that people can actually see the things he posts, and if there was ever a time to not anger his fans this was it. Because they were none too pleased with the meme. And Bobby Brown chimed in with his thoughts as well.

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
