This baby boy had a soul music career that lasted from the 60’s well into the 90’s era. He is an icon who is heavily respected in the music industry.

He’s None Other Than…

It’s the maestro, Barry White! The man with one of the most distinctive voices to have ever graced soul music! Now that you’ve found out who he is, you can probably see the resemblance between the baby Barry and the grown up Barry.

Speaking of Barry, here are a few old school fun facts some of you might not know about him:

1. Barry and his brother were raised in a rough neighborhood of South Central, LA where gang violence was prevalent. Barry was the oldest of his mother’s two kids and although he had a love of listening to his mother’s classical music records and playing piano, the streets had a tighter grip on him and his brother Darryl who was 13 months younger than Barry. Darryl was eventually murdered in a clash with a rival gang, and Barry White was jailed at the age of 17 for stealing $30,000 worth of Cadillac tires.

2. While in jail, Barry White said he listened to Elvis Presley singing “It’s Now or Never” on the radio, an experience he later credited with changing the course of his life.

3. White was a teenage father of two of his children by the age of 16.

4. When White passed away in 2003, his wife and lead singer of the group, Love Unlimited, Glodean James (with whom Barry has children) and girlfriend, Katherine Denton (with whom Barry has one child with) were at conflict over his…
