Let’s first confirm the long-standing rumor for those who didn’t know: YES, former daytime talk show host, Rolonda Watts, has now confirmed that her man was Al. B. Sure back in the day! Rolonda (57) is 9 years older than Al B. (48), but that didn’t stop her from getting her cougar on when they were both at the height of their careers.

During their relationship, Al B. was a front-runner of the New Jack Swing sound and had tweens, teens and 20-somethings all kissing his Right On Magazine posters taped to their bedroom walls, good night EVERY night; while Rolonda was on national TV discussing serious topics with her mostly middle aged, middle class audience of working women and stay-at-home moms, about issues ranging from drug addiction to gay rights.

So yeah, on the surface they did NOT match, which is probably why they kept things on the low. But if folks really paid attention to what the New Jack Swing cat was saying in his songs, it’s easy to see how Al B., then 20 years old, pulled an almost 30 year old Rolonda Watts…dude had an old soul and was spittin’ some SERIOUS grown folks game on wax. Just listen to songs he wrote like “Ooh This Love” (1988), “Naturally Mine” (1988), “U&I” (1992) and any of the others.

Anyways, Rolonda recently did an interview with AlwaysAList to promote her new romance novel, Destiny Lingers, but she couldn’t help revealing something she’ll never forget Al B. Sure did for her while they dated and it shocked the hell outta her…
