Xscape (L-R): Tamika Scott, Kandi Burruss, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, LaTocha Scott

Xscape is back like they never left and we couldn’t be more be happier about that. Lawd knows today’s mainstrem music game needs some seasoned singers, like Xscape, to show these new schoolers how it’s really supposed to be done, but we digress. Anywho, Xscape is working hard, making their rounds around the country and sangin’ their hearts out. But in the midst of that, they pause for interviews and in a recent interview featured on Rolling Out, Kandi, Tiny, Tomeka, and LaTocha, revealed who they wanted to portray them in their upcoming biopic.

For anyone who’s been sleep for the past few months, Xscape is currently in the process of getting their highly anticipated Mona Scott-Young produced biopic together. They’ve been through a bunch of ups and downs, so we’re sure they’ve got a LOT of stories to tell.

Xscape’s Picks For Biopic

When asked about their dream wish list for their portrayals in the biopic, here’s who they chose:

  • LaTocha Scott wants Power actress/ex-3LW singer, Naturi Naughton, to play her.
  • Tameka “Tiny” Harris wants her daughter/singer, Zonnique Pullins, to pull off her character.
  • Tamika Scott says she’d love to have her daughter, Oshun Byas, to play her as well.
  • Kandi Burrus says she ‘changes her mind everyday’ regarding this topic. But as of now she either wants singer, Teyana Taylor, Keke Palmer, or the actress from the Fox TV series, Star, Ryan Destiny…all great picks.

TMZ also been reported that they’re upcoming reality show was picked up by Bravo and is tentatively set for November. It will focus on their process of getting to re-bond as a group and as friends- who had such serious issues with each other that caused them to take 18 years to finally reunite. Much love and luck to Xscape with their newly rebounded career as a group. We LOVE it.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
