Teddy Riley did a prior interview where he revealed some very interesting secrets not just about his friend, Michael Jackson, but about a popular actress he dated on the low. This actress was who Teddy wrote some of MJ’s biggest “Dangerous” album hits about and she inspired those timeless Guy love songs as well. See who…

MJ’S LOVE SONGS WAS ABOUT THE ACTRESS TEDDY WAS IN LOVE WITH

Michael Jackson with his friend and producer, Teddy Riley

We would have never put these two together, because they were never seen in public together, but check out who the actress is behind some of our favorite 90s love songs…

Teddy revealed that actress/director, Salli Richardson (best known for the 90’s film, “Low Down Dirty Shame” starring Keenan Ivory Wayans and Jada Pinkett-Smith)) is the woman he was head over hills in love with back in the day and that she was the inspiration for many hits. They dated for about one year (in the early 90’s) and remained friends for a while after that.

Actress, Salli Richardson

During a 2016 interview, when Teddy was asked if any of his “Dangerous” album songs were about Salli, he replied:

“Are you kidding? ‘Do You Remember the time when we fell in love,’ ‘I Can’t Let Her Get Away,’ ‘She Drives Me Wild’…do you see how I’m cutting you off?!! SHE was my INSPIRATION!”

Salli was in the studio with Teddy everyday as he wrote and produced MJ’s records. Teddy said everything he was saying in those records, he was saying about her because that’s how he felt about her then. In another interview, he also said that “Let’s Chill” and several other Guy love songs at that time were all about Salli. Damn Salli had Teddy wide open, LOL! Check out the video below, he starts talking about Salli at the 6 minute mark…

On Jamie Foxx’s ‘The Foxxhole’ Sirius XM radio show, Jamie asked Teddy ‘If he’d ever taken any other celebrity’s woman’ Teddy then revealed he how he actually stole Salli so to speak…

TEDDY RILEY TOOK SALLI FROM JERMAINE JACKSON

Teddy went into detail on Jamie Foxx’s show about the day he first met Salli Richardson at a club and stole her from Jermaine Jackson! Ain’t that something? Obviously the fact that Teddy took his big brother’s woman didn’t bother MJ, because soon afterwards he called Teddy to work on that “Dangerous” album. And the rest is history. You gotta hear Teddy tell Jamie the story in the video below though, it’s hilarious (starts around the 1:00 mark)…

During that time when Teddy and MJ were working on the “Dangerous” album, Teddy lived at MJ’s home, but wait ’til you see some of the interesting things he revealed about his friend, MJ>>>

TEDDY TELLS LITTLE KNOWN SECRETS ABOUT HIS FRIEND, MJ

Teddy revealed a few interesting things about Michael Jackson:

“I stayed with Mike. We ate pot pies and Kentucky Fried Chicken together.”

“The best way he could describe MJ was that “he’s like a homie in the house” really regular and down to earth.”

Teddy said his only regret is that he chose not to take a lot of pics with MJ because he never wanted to invade his space.

He went on to explain how MJ loved heat, literally and how they formed a close brotherhood type of bond during the time they worked on the album:

“Michael would always call me in his hot a$$ room, because he LOVED heat. He didn’t like the sun because of his skin, but he loved is room so warm, like you couldn’t breathe, like you just breathing hot air. And he has the heater on the other side and then a heater in front of him, and then a humidifier because he loves stem, it moistens his voice” (which is what many singers are known to do).

Teddy: MJ was a “very warm hearted dude and when you’re behind closed doors with him, he talks about things that you would never expect him to talk about….about his youth life, his life with the little [amount of] friends that he had.”

Whitney Houston and Jermaine Jackson

It’s long been said that music legends, Whitney Houston and Jermaine Jackson, had a thing going on back in the day. Up until recent years, the rumors were just that- rumors, until a few years ago when La Toya Jackson publicly revealed some inside info about this situation. See what she had to say about the late, great Whitney and her brother, Jermaine, below…

La Toya On Whitney & Jermaine’s “Affair”

Now, before we go any further, let’s clear up a few things about the ‘affair’ wording. For those who may not have heard, or are a lil’ too young to remember, Jermaine was married to Hazel Gordy (daughter of Motown mogul, Berry Gordy) in the ‘70s and ‘80s. However, it was also well documented, that they’re marriage reportedly experienced some separation, breakups, and make-ups, in the 80’s. Not justifying what you’re about to hear from La Toya, just adding more insight into the situation…moving on…

Screen-shot-2013-06-14-at-2.29.47-PM
La Toya on “The Talk”

While Jermaine Jackson has refused to comment publicly about the alleged 80’s affair with Whitney Houston, his sister, La Toya, didn’t mind spilling the beans when she was featured on The Talk. She confirmed that Whitney and Jermaine were in a relationship…

La Toya: “Well actually, to be quite honest with you, he [Jermaine] did have a relationship. … He has admitted that they (Jermaine and Whitney) had an affair […] Well, in ’84, Jermaine and Whitney did work together. That was the beginning of her career, basically,” La Toya Jackson said.

On Jermaine denying the relationship with Whitney in his book, La Toya said:

“I think that Jermaine wrote that in his book to protect Whitney at that particular time…and he has admitted that they had an affair.”

Jermaine Was Distraught When Whitney Passed

Whitney and Jermaine

According to The Sun, at the time of Whitney Houston’s death, Jermaine Jackson was so devastated that he was unable to attend her funeral and that 3 years prior to Whitney’s death, she comforted Jermaine over the loss of his brother, Michael. Michael allegedly didn’t approve of the relationship between Jermaine and Whitney, but his disapproval didn’t stop them from seeing each other, according to those close to the situation. Even when their alleged affair ended, they still kept in touch.

Was Saving All My Love About Jermaine?

Many have assumed that Whitney even alluded to their reported relationship in her classic love ballad, Saving All My Love. If you recall, that ‘80s classic is about  a woman having a romance with a married man and not giving up, as Whitney sang about longing for the day when that man would be all hers. The video even used a model that had somewhat of a resemblance to Jermaine Jackson…

Whitney and Jermaine not only made beautiful in the bedroom allegedly, but they made beautiful music together as well. ILOSM fam’ we know a lotta y’all may remember their slow jams, “If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful” and “Nobody Loves Me Like You Do”…

What Jermaine Wrote About Whitney In His Book

Despite the fact that Jermaine refused to speak about the alleged affair with Whitney publicly, that didn’t stop him from writing about it. In later years, Jermaine Jackson penned a book called, You are Not Alone: Michael, Through A Brother’s Eyes. Openly, Jermaine wrote about how he struggled with his feelings for Whitney, although he put them aside for the sake of his marriage:

Jermaine: “As much as I wanted to lose myself in all these feelings, I told her [Whitney] to wait. Ultimately, we had to go our separate ways and it killed us both.”

Just like we always say, here at I LOVE OLD SCHOOL MUSIC, celebrities have reached a high level of greatness, but that doesn’t make them perfect people, they are still simply perfectly flawed human beings, just like the rest of us. So before any of us start judging the beloved Whitney Houston and Jermaine Jackson about their reported love for each other, let’s try to first consider the common ‘human elements’ that we ALL possess. Thanks for reading fam.’

In case you haven’t heard, L.A. Reid released a memoir titled, “Sing to Me: My Story of Making Music, Finding Magic, and Searching for Who’s Next,”  a few years ago. In it, explained how he and his production partner, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, got caught up in a longstanding battle between Jermaine and Michael Jackson that many of us never knew knew about.

Throwback photo of Michael (L) and Jermaine Jackson (R)

L.A. Reid said that while he and Babyface were producing an album for Jermaine Jackson (who was signed to their record label, LaFace Records, at that time), they’d suddenly received a call from Michael. MJ asked them if they would be interested in meeting with him to discuss working together on some new music. L.A. and Babyface agreed, but decided not to tell Jermaine until after they saw where the convo’ with MJ would lead to.

After the three of them met up, L.A. and Babyface decided to begin working with Michael three weeks later.

What Happened Next Was What They Totally Weren’t Expecting

Michael Jackson

Jermaine found out about L.A. and Babyface’s plans to work with his brother and to say he was livid is an understatement. According to L.A. Reid, Jermaine immediately demanded to be released from their label. L.A. and Babyface didn’t want Jermaine to leave, but they also didn’t want to NOT work with Michael Jackson- the greatest entertainer of all time.

Since they were in a pickle, they went back to MJ and told him that his brother was pissed. Then something else happened that shocked them.  L.A. said Michael gave them the most cold-hearted response to ever, regarding his big bro’:

‘“He’ll get over it,” [Michael said].

‘That’s not really the problem,’ I said. ‘The problem was that he wants off the label now.’

“Did he sign a contract?” asked Michael.

‘Yes,’ I said.

“Then he’ll have to live with it because those are the rules,” Michael said and walked out.

That Michael Jackson was one shrewd man. He was not wrong, but you didn’t expect that from Peter Pan. You expect a little compassion or something. No. Cold as ice.’

Jermaine Dissed The Hell Outta Michael In The Worst Way

Jermaine Jackson

Then Came Jermaine’s DISS RECORD About His Brother…
L.A. says things got really messy when Jermaine told him and Babyface this:

“I want to make a song about my brother. I want to talk about how he’s treated me through the years, like how every time I find producers like you guys, he takes my producers. He doesn’t care about his family or anybody but himself.”

L.A. and ‘Face were surprised that two brothers of soul music royalty, were about beef on the radio, like they were on a hip hop mixtape.

Nonetheless, they still allowed Jermaine’s creative expression flow, no matter how much they disagreed with his diss record request- and produced the track, “Word to the Badd!,” which was aired on radio stations nationwide.

Michael was pissed off with all three of the men. So, he called up L.A. to give him a few choice words:

“ ‘You have to stop this,’ he said. ‘You’re the head of the label. You have to kill this. This isn’t good.’ ”

L.A. said MJ and Jermaine met up at their Mom’s house to talk it out, but that two days later, he got two very different phone calls. Jermaine called L.A. and said the song is gonna stay on the radio; MJ called and said ‘You’ve gotta put a stop to this.’

They were right back where they’d started, but L.A. said this is what happened next:

“The record disappeared off the air, as if it had never been there in the first place. I don’t know what Michael did. I don’t know if Michael did anything, but it went away in a flash.”

Check out Jermaine’s diss record about his MJ here:

For decades, we’ve heard there was tension between Jermaine and Michael, but it was never confirmed…until L.A. Reid’s book. Wow!

Jackie Jackson; Paula Abdul

This alleged Jackie Jackson and Paula Abdul situation is a wild story and according to Jermaine Jackson’s former common-law wife of 7 years, it’s also a very true story.

Now, we have nothing but love for Jackie and Paula Abdul, but word on the Old School curb is that our girl, Paula “Straight Up Now Tell Me” Abdul had an alleged rendezvous with Jackie Jackson back in the day and the you-know-what hit the fan big time one evening in Los Angeles.  Jermaine’s ex, Margaret Maldonado, revealed exactly what went down in her tell-all book, “Jackson Family Values.” Scroll down for details…

Jackie Jackson with his then wife, Enid Jackson, who sadly passed away years ago

According to Maldonado, Jackie’s wife, Enid caught him having an affair with Paula Abdul (at the time, a Laker Girl and would-be choreographer for Janet). Maldonado claims Jackie did little to keep it a secret during its long run. Well, in 1984, it came to a head when Jackie took Paula to a Drive-In theater in the LA area. Marlon’s wife, Carol, found out about it and told Enid and that’s when the heat got turned up.

She goes on to say, Enid drove to the theater and located Jackie and Paula and yanked ‘Ms. Straight Up’ out of the Range Rover by her hair and dragged her across the theater lot. Then Jackie tried to pull his wife away. He was still trying to help Paula when Enid got into her car and put it in reverse and ran into Jackie’s leg and broke it.

Embed from Getty Images

The broken leg kept Jackie from performing on the first half of the massive “Victory Tour.” Three years later, he and Enid divorced. Shortly afterwards, Enid had Jackie arrested for violating the terms of the divorce, by showing up to their former house together to use his home studio. If all of this is accurate, I guess it’s safe to assume that Enid did NOT play. All we kept hearing back in the day was Jackie broke his leg and would have to miss the tour because of a “car accident.” Glad to see that eventually all was forgiven among them and our beloved Enid Jackson was a beautiful soul, may she rest well.

Margaret Maldonado (Jermaine Jackson’s ex) pictured on the cover of her memoir, “Jackson Family Values”

The teller of this incident, Margaret (pictured above), is no longer with Jackie’s brother, Jermaine, but she and Jermaine have two children together and based on her book, she seems to have several stories to share about her former ‘in-laws.’ Nowadays she has a successful business representing photographers and stylists in Hollywood.

From the looks of it, everything’s all good now between Paula and the Jackson fam.’ A peaceful, happy ending is always a beautiful thing.

(L-R): Jermaine Jackson; Jermaine & Hazel Gordy; Berry Gordy

A lot of people take interest in Jermaine’s and his ex-wife, Hazel Gordy’s, three kids because early on in his career, Jermaine did what several of his siblings did not: he created non-biracial African American children with his then wife, Hazel. FYI: Nothing is wrong with having biracial children, we are merely stating a fact about three of Jermaine’s kids and the rest of the Jacksons’ kids that’s all, moving on…

Hazel, the lovely daughter of music mogul, Berry Gordy, was married to Jermaine for 15 years (1973 to 1988). Their marriage was filled with happiness, public cheating (on Jermaine’s part), highs and lows. But some of their greatest times were the births of their children- two many knew about back then, but may have forgotten about now; and one whom most never knew existed.

Jermaine Jackson Jr., 43

Let us introduce you to the three super private Jackson-Gordy kids now. The first born of the trio is one we’ve reported on several times, here at ILOSM, Jermaine Jackson Jr…

Jermaine Jackson Jr. with girlfriend/reality TV star, Asa Soltan Rahmati
  • Jermaine lives life away from the cameras, with the exception of a few times. In the mid 90’s he did a helluva job starring as his Pops in the TV biopic, The Jacksons: The American Dream.
  • In recent years he’s resurfaced as a result of his Persian-American long-time girlfriend, Asa Soltan Rahmati, who lives her life in front of the cameras as a reality TV star on Bravo’s The Shahs of Sunset.
  • Jermaine Jr. and Asa welcomed their first child, Soltan Jackson, on January 20, 2017, just 17 days after Jermaine Jr.’s aunt Janet and estranged hubby, Wissam Al Mana, welcomed their son, Eissa, on January 3rd. Jermaine Jr. is close with his siblings and the rest of the Jackson fam’ and that’s pretty much all we know about this private Jackson man. Onto his beautiful sister and his younger brother…

Jermaine & Hazel’s Gorgeous Daughter, Autumn Jackson, 41

Berry Gordy with granddaughter (daughter of Hazel Gordy & Jermaine Jackson), Autumn Jackson

Autumn has become even more private than her big bro,’ Jermaine Jr. Here’s what we know about her:

  • She’s the second born child of Hazel and Jermaine
  • Autumn is married to her husband, Nape Singh, who’s last name  is originated in India.
  • Autumn also shares the same smile as her ‘ti Janet

    Autumn (L); Janet (R)
  • She, too, is close with her siblings and Pops. Jermaine shared this photo of himself having a fun time with four of his kids- Jermasty, Autumn, Jermaine Jr. and Jafaar.

Jermaine’s & Hazel’s Youngest Child (together), Jaimy Jackson, 33

Jaimy Jackson is the most reclusive of all three kids between Hazel and Jermaine. Some of us Old Schoolers may recall how their other two kids- Autumn and Jermaine Jr. – were often photographed out with their parents at various events in the 70’s and early 80’s. However, you probably never recalled seeing Hazel and Gordy photo’d together with their third child, Jaimy, and there is a solid explanation for that…

Jermaine Jackson & Hazel Gordy with 2 of their 3 kids, Jermaine Jr. and Autumn, prior to the birth of son, Jaimy

Jaimy was conceived during a rough patch in Jermaine’s and Hazel’s marriage in March of 1987, just before they divorced in 1988. So he never had the opportunity of being photographed out with his complete family back then, because his parents were split for almost his whole life. That didn’t stop any shortage of love from either of them though. From what we know, Jermaine and Hazel have been there for Jaimy since his conception, and nothing has changed to this day…

Jermaine Jackson with Autumn’s husband, Nape Singh; his daughter, Autumn; and his son, Jaimy Jackson

And of course grandpop, Berry Gordy, is proud of them all. Check him out with his daughter Hazel Gordy, son Kerry Gordy, and three of his grandchildren…

(L to R) Jermaine Jackson Jr., Autumn Jackson, legendary Motown Records founder Berry Gordy, Hazel Gordy (Berry’s daughter), Kerry Gordy (Berry’s son) and Jaimy Jackson

The Jackson and Gordy families are quite a complex, diversified bunch, but at the end of the day, they all love each other ’til the end.

(L) Jermaine Jackson; (R) Randy Jackson

Katherine and Joe Jackson’s nine children have married and had children of their own with many people by now. In fact, some of the Jackson children’s children have kids now. But some fans were not aware that two Jackson brothers have children with the same woman. For those who don’t know, Randy and Jermaine Jackson both have children with Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza.

Randy actually dated the Colombian model first. The two met in 1986 when Alejandra was just 17-years-old and although they never tied the knot, they did have two children together – Genevieve and son Steven, Jr. By now, everyone has seen The Jacksons: An American Dream.

So, you probably remember Randy didn’t start touring with his brothers until he was older. By that time, the Jacksons were well established. During an exclusive interview with Radar Online, Alejandra shared details about her relationship with Randy.

“He didn’t treat me like he wanted a family with me at all,” Alejandra said of Randy.

Alejandra On Why She Wanted Jermaine After Randy

Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza, mother of Randy and Jermaine Jackson’s children

Randy reportedly ran off and married another woman while Alejandra was 7-months pregnant. While away on tour, Jermaine made his move. “Jermaine wanted a family and that’s what I always wanted for my kids and he was a father for my kids,” admitted Alejandra.

Katherine Jackson Was Pissed, Says Alejandra

Katherine and Joe Jackson in a throwback family photo with some of their grandbabies; son, Jermaine Jackson; and then daughter-in-law, Alejandra

Alejandra’s relationship with Jermaine actually led to marriage; a union the Jackson family wasn’t too thrilled about. In fact, most of the fam,’ namely Mama Katherine, wasn’t pleased one bit:

“I remember when we got married and I told Mrs. Jackson. I went into her room and told her with Jermaine on the phone, he was in Africa at that time, and it was very difficult for her,” Alejandra told Radar.

Alejandra and Jermaine went on to have three children – Jermajesty, Donte, and Jaafar.

But according to Stacey Brown- a male Jackson family friend for over 25 years/co-writer of the Jackson memoirs- there was a lot of tension between Randy and Jermaine. Although Randy moved on with his life, that didn’t mean he was happy for his brother, he was absolutely pissed about their relationship, so says Stacey to the NYPost:  “Joe Blow down the street, but my brother? In the same house?” […] “She’s a pig and my brother is a fool,” Stacey recalled Randy saying about Jermaine and Alejandra’s hook-up.

But, Stacey said Jermaine had one brother who was supportive – Michael. “Jermaine told me that Michael had called him at that time and told him, ‘Are you in love with her?’ And he said, ‘Yes, I am really in love with her.’ He [Michael] goes, ‘Then congratulations.’”

As a result of the relationship, Randy allegedly refused to pay child support for his kids back then. Since Jermaine stepped in, he felt it should have been his responsibility, but Jermaine felt otherwise, according to Brown. In a nutshell, Jermaine felt his brother needed to just get over it. “He’s an a-hole,” Jermaine reportedly said of Randy. “He shouldn’t let his feelings for me or Alejandra come between taking care of his kids.

Stacey Brown: “He needs to get over it and leave all the petty stuff behind and act like a man,” Jermaine said to me. This conversation lasted more than four hours and I had to reason with him that, “You not only took his woman, but you had children with her and you married her. There’s nothing petty about that.”

However, over the years, they’ve managed to get beyond the drama and now their children have a surprisingly close bond as cousins and siblings.

During a 2016 interview, when Teddy was asked if any of his “Dangerous” album songs were about Salli, he replied:

Michael Jackson’s big bro’ and Jackson 5 icon, Jermaine Jackson, had a few things to get off his chest about iconic producer, Quincy Jones. Simply put, he is not feelin’ what Quincy’s now doing to Michael’s legacy these days.

You see, although Quincy is not directly stirring up the hype about the molestation claims that were made in the Leaving Neverland documentary- some of which were later exposed as lies-  he is in indirectly supporting them, based on the business move he just made, according to Jermaine.

What Did Quincy Jones Do To MJ?
As y’all already know, Quincy and Michael where extremely close and Quincy produced 3 of MJ’s biggest albums- Thriller, Off The Wall, and Bad. So when it came time for the super producer to do an upcoming orchestral styled show at The O2 arena in London, it was only natural that Q based it on those three iconic albums. Only prob’ is, Quincy has now completely erased any presence of MJ off the show’s title, marketing, and branding, after the controversy that the LN documentary has sparked worldwide.

Quincy’s live show- scheduled for June 2019- was originally titled ‘Quincy Jones presents “Off the Wall,” “Thriller”and “Bad”.’ Now, it has been changed to ‘Quincy Jones presents “The Soundtrack of the 80’s”.’

In my opinion, the new name, “the Soundtrack of the 80’s,” is pretty generic and sounds like one of those CD’s sold in a late-night infomercial as part of a package deal, but I digress. Anywho, check out what Jermaine Jackson had to say about Quincy’s decision below…
