Kiely response to the accusation of kicking Naturi out was, “Not true, But it was a very effective lie”.

“So I had this interesting exchange with a woman who apparently doesn’t like me AT ALL and yet is all over my gram. So here’s what happened: Someone posted that they get the “not black enough” thing all the time, to which the hater responded “you’re definitely black enough” and all I was trying to do was figure out how she knew a total stranger was “black enough.” She would not answer. She tried every possible way to not answer the question, called me crazy, suggest meds (thanks for that) and all the while kept reinforcing the “black girls stick together” narrative. I even asked her privately to explain to me why she felt the way she did, but no answer. So maybe you guys could shed some light on this. I have been fighting against Colorism by whole entire life. It shouldn’t be a thing. Black is black. I don’t care how you talk, what food or TV Shows you like, who you marry, or what shade of brown you are: if you’re black, YOU’RE BLACK! I feel like we should talk about this so we can get to the root of why black people (especially women) are pitted against each other. It breaks my heart.”

Another Darker Skinned Young Lady

Lastly, Kiely explained that if she were the influence behind a chocolate-skinned Naturi being axed, it would have been counter-productive to choose her Jessica Benson as her replacement – another darker skinned young lady.

Tse Williams is the sister and former manager of Kiely and 3LW and mentions that Naturi bad mouthed them in the Wendy radio interview– if you listened to the interview Naturi herself never said it was due to her darker complexion however wanting her to be the urban poster child does make us go hmmmm…

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
