Though it would have been nice to see her receive this honor while she was still alive there’s no denying the importance of her still breaking new grounds even though she’s no longer with us. A win is a win and her family, friends and fans should be extremely proud of this accomplishment. Congratulations Aretha! Your iconic status will live on forever.
