Chris Rock Sadly Talks About The Time He Prayed For His Mother’s Passing

ILOSM fam’ do you know Rose Rock? In case you don’t, she’s the mother of the hilarious Chris Rock. She’s also a 65-year-old teacher who has an incredible story. Not only is she a teacher, but get this: she’s birthed seven children, raised ten, and fostered an impressive 17! In the words of  her son’s I’m Gonna Git You Sucka character, “Good LAWD that’s a lotta” kids!

So, it probably comes as no surprise that she decided to share her experiences of raising successful kids with the world. Back in 2008, she authored her first book titled, Mama Rock’s Rules: Ten Secrets for Raising a Houseful of Successful Children. It also comes as no surprise that Chris has a close relationship with his mother. However there was a period in his life when he prayed for his own Mother’s death. It sounds harsh, but let Chris explain this below…

Although Chris Rock is one of America’s most popular comedians, there’s also a serious side to him. He takes family very seriously. Even his Moms is amazed at the man he’s become. In a previous interview with New York Daily News , Mama Rock doted on her famous son and admitted he and his then-wife, Malaak, instilled the same values in their daughters that he was taught by his parents as a child:

“Yes, and I’m amazed, because they’re so hands-on.  They get up in the morning, they cook the meals, drive them to school. It’s really great to see that being passed on,” explained Rose.

But like any mother-child relationship, situations arise that have the possibility of changing life forever.
