Daily Mail: He saw…singer Josephine Baker who performed…wearing just a skirt made of bananas and wrote crudely to a friend that it served to ‘vivify rather than to conceal, her Alabama vulva’. Black Folks Weren’t The Only Ones Dr. Seuss Offended…
According to Jones, the “Dr. Seuss” author also had ill feelings toward Japanese people and women.

Via DM– Geisel embraced the paranoia about the Japanese invading America at a time when hundreds of thousands of Japanese Americans were being relocated and incarcerated in the wake of the Pearl Harbor attack. One of his cartoons was captioned: ‘Waiting for the signal from Home’ and showed a long line of Japanese Americans stretching down Pacific coast queuing up to receive blocks of TNT. … In a half apology Geisel wrote: ‘If we want to win we’ve got the kill the Japs.

In one of his first pieces…Geisel wrote: ‘For what is more pleasant than to see five husky college men make some silly girls realize how insignificant and helpless they are?’

Dr. Seuss’s Response To Racial/Gender Bias Backlash…
When slammed about his racist, misogynistic work in the mid-1970’s, Geisel said that’s “just the way things were 50 years ago” and that “suddenly after all these years I’m deluged with protests over that one line.”

Is this a surprise? Hell nah. Question is: Now that the word is out, do you think the “Dr. Seuss” brand will be affected?
