‘I Can’t Skip My Brother And Sister’…

Emerald says she believes race played a part in their dismissal. According to the reporter, as a Black woman, she’s experienced similar instances many times in the past.

Metro UK states that, in Emerald’s Instagram post, she mentions as follows:

“Often times black reporters are pushed to the end and aren’t able to get the proper interview that they need. Well tonight, Halle Berry interviewed with everybody. As she approached myself, I was the only black woman on the carpet and there was only one black male. As soon as they got in front of Lamar and myself, her PR said they had no time to speak to us and they began to walk away…I prepared all day, I was super excited. Who doesn’t want to talk to Halle Berry?”

She looked at me and looked at Lamar and said, ‘No, I can’t skip my brother and my sister’,” Emerald reportedly mentions of Halle Berry.

The journalist states that Halle fought for her voice. Likewise, her response to the PR’s snub shows why she is a “leader and queen,” the reports notes.

According to the source, Emerald also continued as follows:

“When you guys see reviews on movies it’s usually from only a white male perspective! I have covered the last 4 major films out and I was the only black person at all 4 screenings ! That’s a problem!! But on Thursday Halle Berry spoke up for me and I’ll honestly never forget that I have a new found love and respect for her!! [sic].”
