Kandi Burruss Speaks Out To Clear Up Confusion Over Her Restaurant Inspection

Posted On : September 7, 2017

On Wednesday (9-7-17), Kandi Burruss’ new restaurant came under fire after details surfaced from the eatery’s Georgia Health Inspection. For those who missed it, the Old Lady Gang restaurant, which opened earlier this summer, received a “C” grade for multiple sanitary violations. Of course, it didn’t take long for the reports to make headlines. Now, Kandi is speaking out about all of the confusion over the seemingly disturbing findings in the restaurant and her response will probably clear up a lot of the controversy.

Kandi Speaks:

According to B. Scott, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star admitted that the restaurant did initially receive a “C” grade after the lackluster report. However, things are a bit different now because they’ve managed to clear up all of the issues that were made public. Kandi released a statement to the publication confirming the score is now an A. “Our score is an A. Yes, it was a C for like three days, but for minor things like someone in the kitchen didn’t have their hair net on — or we ran out of paper towels by the sink. We immediately corrected those things and our score returned to an A.”

New health department documents also support Kandi’s claims and have been updated as of August 29, 2017. Here’s an image of the updated inspection:

How It All Started:

Kandi’s response comes one day after reports surfaced about the inspection. As previously reported on ILOSM, the health department’s report, filed on August 24, 2017, cited several violations that were noted during the inspection. The specific violations are listed below:

  • No soap or paper towels located at handwashing sink
  • Observed soil buildup inside ice bin.
  • Observed potentially hazardous food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. New Violation.
  • Observed employee with no hair restraint.
  • Wet wiping cloth not stored in sanitizing solution between uses.
  • Observed cutting board grooved/pitted and no longer cleanable.

Looks like Kandi, Todd, and the ladies have everything under control! Old Lady Gang is ready to roll.

About I Love Old School Music

We salute the incredible people and beautiful memories of that "old school". We’re not saying that every artist and every facet of the soul era was perfect, but the artists’ contributions to soul music and the old school memories of that particular time are PRICELESS.
