Negative $13, That’s What’s Reportedly Left In R. Kelly’s Bank Account…But It Gets Worse
R. Kelly still owes more money to landlord…
R. Kelly reportedly has three active bank accounts- one with Wintrust Bank, which allegedly has -$13; and two with Bank of America, which was holding $44,595.58 and $110,056.64, but unfortunately for R. Kelly, the landlord pretty wiped out the latter two, only leaving $625 in them.
Although R. Kelly’s landlord was able to seize $150K from two of his three bank accounts, Kellz still owes more to the landlord, and now further action is being taken to cover his remaining debt.
Apparently, the landlord and R. Kelly have been in a legal battle over the back rent payments for a while. Eventually, the landlord won big time, when he was granted a judgement for $173K to collect his money from Kellz.
Since Kelly’s well has run dry, the landlord is now ‘firing off subpoenas to Sony Music, ASCAP and multiple banks where Kelly held accounts,’ reports The Blast.
The only prob’ is that the landlord may be in for a rude awakening if the rumors are true, that R. Kelly no longer owns the rights to his music.
Matter of fact, ASCAP (American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers)- the organization that collects money for music artists- has reportedly confirmed that R. Kelly has zero money owed to him from them, which could possibly mean they don’t owe him, because he doesn’t own his music rights. Not sure if that latter coincidence has been confirmed by Kelly’s team, but only time will tell.
