Parents Of Sanaa Lathan Party It Up With Beyonce’s Mom Despite Biting Incident

Posted On : July 8, 2018

Will Smith once rapped “Parents just don’t understand.” However, when it comes to Sanaa Lathan’s dad, Stan Lathan, her stepmom, Marguerite, and Beyonce’s mother, Tina Lawson, they DO understand. Understand what, you ask? Well apparently when it comes to the Beyonce-bite-gate scandal between their daughters and comedic actress, Tiffany Haddish, they understand that the Old School saying, ‘My name is Bennit and I ain’t in it’ applies to them. In other words, none of ’em are worried about whatever issues are happening between Sanaa, Bey,’ and Tiffany.

Tina Lawson Parties With Sanaa’s Dad & Stepmom

For 4th of July weekend, mama Tina, step-mama Marguerite (pictured above, L), and Stan Lathan (pictured above (C) had a blast kee-keeing it up during a small gathering among friends, including actor, Glenn Turman. They have apparently been friends for years and made a concerted effort to let folks know they are united, in spite of the bite-Bey scandal. In a few Instagram videos, Tina shared footage of herself, Marguerite, Stan and more, at their upscale shindig in the hills somewhere. Check out the videos below…

What many also didn’t know, is that Tiffany Haddish is really cool with Stan (pictured below with daughter, Sanaa) and his wife, Marguerite (Sanaa’s stepmom, pictured below). That’s why they reportedly wasted no time giving her a piece of their minds after she indirectly outed Sanaa as the Beyonce biter:

“I’m super good friends with her [Sanaa Lathan’s] stepmom and her dad [Stan, a producer-director], and they were mad at me,” Haddish said, smiling to confirm Lathan was indeed the perpetrator. “They were like, ‘Why would you do this to the family? You know, Black actresses, you guys have to stick together, it’s so hard for you guys to get work as it is, why would you try to ruin her career?’ But I didn’t try to ruin her career. I never said her name!” Haddish insisted. “I was just trying to say how Beyonce kept me from goin’ to jail that night. I coulda just shut my whole career down.” -via TooFab

Recap Of Bite-Gate & Sanaa’s Latest Reaction

As most of y’all already know, a few months ago, Tiffany Haddish indirectly blew up Sanaa Lathan’s spot, when she ever so effortlessly revealed that a popular, unidentified movie star bit the hell outta Beyonce’ at an industry party. According to Tiffany, Bey’ was pissed over that biting incident. At that time, Tiff’ did not divulge who the actress was, but she said that she did offer to deliver a quick smackdown to the actress over the incident, but Bey’ politely declined her offer.

Fans eventually figured out that the unnamed actress was Sanaa Lathan. Then came Sanaa’s denial of the incident, followed up by Tiffany’s recent confirmation that she was, in fact, referring to Sanaa as the Beyonce cheek biter. As of a few days ago, things got interesting yet again, after fans accused Sanaa of skating around the bite-gate question during her recent interview on “The Real”:

“I think it’s the most absurd thing I’ve ever been involved with. Thank God I’ve been in this business for 20 years and have had so many rumors about me. They used to devastate me in my 20s, but in order to survive in this business, you just have to let it roll,” said Sanaa on the Beyonce bite scandal.

And the saga continues.
