But uhh…it has just come to our attention, that folks all over the internet have been getting a chuckle outta the mix-up that is showing when you search “Chaka Khan’s net worth” on Google. Here is what you’ll get…

As you can see, somebody believes the late, great R&B legend, Nick Ashford (of Ashford & Simpson) and Chaka Khan are one in the same! Granted, they’ve both cranked out some timeless classic songs in the ’70s and ’80s…but their physical appearances are far from similar. Sure, Nick always rocked his signature long permed hair and Chaka’s known for her long hair as well, but that’s where the similarities end. Given the nearly 1 foot height difference between them, the facial hair inconsistencies, and obvious gender difference, someone deserves to be called out for this hilarious discrepancy, to say the least. And that’s exactly what the internet is doing. It got so bad, that even ’80s singer, Boy George, jumped in it…

Listen, as an online publication, we understand all too well that sometimes slip ups happen. There are minor slip ups- typos, etc.; then there are major ones- like confusing a 5’4″ Black singer with a 6’2″ male R&B crooner with long tresses. Nonetheless though, the latter is funny as hell and the up side for Google is that they gave folks a good laugh today.

Apparently, this Nick Ashford-Chaka Khan mix up has been up for days now, so it doesn’t look like anyone’s rushing to fix this anytime soon. Therefore, let the laughs continue…until Google fixes this mess, or Chaka’s team contacts them demanding it be corrected.

Meanwhile Back At The Ranch…She’s Redeemed

Meanwhile, Chaka Khan has now redeemed herself, following her unfortunate incident in March 2018. As we previously reported, many fans dragged Chaka “through the fire,” on social media, after she performed at the 2018 Jazz At The Gardens in Miami, FL, seemingly high or drunk, according to concert goers. Video surfaced of the melee and many fans walked out of the show, while Chaka was still performing and her background singers were picking up the slack for her. It was a sad sight to see and we all hoped that Chaka had not had another relapse into her prior drug struggles.

Days later, Chaka’s team released a statement explaining her issue that night. They claimed that despite slurring her words, barely moving, barely singing, and forgetting her lyrics that night, Chaka wasn’t high, nor inebriated, but she was battling the flu.

Of course many fans didn’t believe ‘the flu’ excuse, but the good news is that Chaka has been back on stage, singing like her usual self again and hasn’t received another bad review from fans yet.

In the past, she’s made her on again-off again struggles with drug addiction no secret and is known for keepin’ it real about her afflictions. Hopefully, Chaka has been able to maintain her path of sobriety. That isn’t always easy, but she’s a strong woman, so we have faith in her on this one.
