Why Mayte Thinks Prince Remarried So Soon After Their Divorce

In a very somber moment, Mayte revealed in her interview, that she feels Prince ultimately left her and went on to marry his second wife Manuela Testolini (she’s now singer, Eric Benet’s, wife) because he assumed that she was not as valuable as a wife without her being able to birth healthy children at that time:

“I think he [Prince] thought that because we lost our two children…our two babies…that I wasn’t the one,” confessed Mayte.

Mayte and Prince divorced in 2000 and he married Manuela in 2001 (they divorced in 2006). Only the beloved Prince would know for sure why he remarried so soon after leaving Mayte. However, the emotional toll from the grief they both experienced after the loss of their two babies is enough to drive a wedge through any marriage and/or couple. Not because they don’t love each other, but simply because the weight of their grief can either have a magnetic effect toward one another, or a gravitational pull in opposite directions. Unfortunately, for Prince and Mayte the opposite force was stronger…
