Milira became a school teacher at August Martin High School, and then she taught at Jamaica High School – both located in Queens, New York. During that time she also earned a BS in Speech Communications and a Masters in Education. Everything was going very well until she was blindsided with this: She was involved in a motorcycle accident and sustained extremely severe injured, which caused her to exit the classroom permanently.

The good thing is that she is all healed up now and has become a real estate investor in North Carolina and South Carolina. Her passion for music keeps calling her though, so she’s finally working on new music, which would be like a breathe of fresh air in today’s current musical climate, in my opinion.

“Hey guys I have been asked so many time, ‘When are you coming out with a new CD?’ And finally it will be released very very soon.”

Looking forward to hearing that sultry voice of hers again real soon! Now you know we could never talk about Milira without talking about her cover of Marvin Gaye’s “Mercy Mercy Me!” That was a bonafide CLASSIC! She brought out the essence of her idols, Sarah Vaughn and Marvin Gaye and is probably one of the very few artists who could cover an old school treasure like “Mercy, Mercy Me” and make it her own.
