We’re sending well-wishes and uplifting energy to Jagged Edge singer, Brandon Casey, at this time. He has revealed that he is currently hospitalized at an Atlanta, Ga. hospital, after suffering life threatening injuries.

Brandon Casey Gives Updates From His Hospital Bed

On July 16, 2024, the 48-year-old singer revealed that he’d been in a horrific car accident that has left him with a broken neck, broken ribs, scalp lacerations, and a skull fracture. As Brandon gets the care he needs in the intensive care unit of the ATL hospital –where he says he’s been for nearly a week– he took the time to update his social media followers on his terrifying accident and outcome.

“I have to send a big Thanku to @grady.hospital after bein in iCU for five days I kno the legendary Grady Trauma Center is everything it’s said to Be the Best in the country yall saved my life and I’m forever grateful,” Brandon wrote in his Instagram caption on Tuesday. “I’m so Thankful to all u ladies who took care of me who have nursed me fed me encouraged me Thankyou from the bottom of my heart the most sincere Thanku I can conjure up.”

“I kno people wanna kno so here it is Broken neck 5 broke ribs skull fracture scalp lacerations and a bunch of pain all over my body but ima be good I promise yall,” he continued. “God got me it’s like sumthin tryna take me off this planet and god keep tellin em nope not him not yet … all praises to the most high most awesome most wonderful God Thanku lord!!!! From ur loyal soldier🫡🙏🏾🦾👑”

In another IG update, Brandon stated that he “should be dead,” given the dangerous crash he’d just experienced. He also expressed his gratitude for making it through.

“I never post these type pictures upon delivering the news that I been hurt cuz the people who really love me don’t play about me and I don’t wanna add to they fright of how I may be doin but ima jus post this jus so u kno neither wreck was a fender Bender,” he revealed. “I could be probably should be dead 🫡🙏🏾🦾 oh except the Big fact that God does protect his Flock🦾”

His Second Car Crash In Less Than A Year

Unfortunately, Brandon’s latest car crash was the second one he’s experienced in less than a year. In September 2023, he posted a photo of another car wreck he endured, and equally expressed how thankful he was to have gotten through that scary ordeal as well.

Dupri co-wrote “We Belong Together” and “Always Be My Baby” with Mariah Carey and “Burn” with Usher. He launched the careers of rappers Bow Wow and DaBrat as well as R&B groups Xscape and Jagged Edge among others. He continues to source and develop new talent using his Lifetime show The Rap Game. The induction is undoubtedly well-deserved.

If you recall, Kyle was arrested in November (2016) for family abuse, after allegedly threatening to stab his older son during a dispute that took place at Kyle’s home. That’s never been publicly confirmed by Kyle and neither has his current arrest, but court records show that he’ll be humming Akon’s “I’m Locked up, they won’t let me out” (figuratively speaking) for at least the next two weeks, or so:

Via Bossip: Late last week, [Kyle Norman’s] probation officer filed docs in his criminal case alleging the singer has ignored the terms of his probation, in the case where he was charged with family violence and battery.

The probation officer explained Norman pled guilty and was convicted to the offense of Disorderly Conduct in April. His sentence included 12 months’ probation, a $24 fine, a $39 a month “supervision fee,” alcohol and drug treatment, 12 Anger Management classes and have no violent contact with the victim. The P.O. says Norman violated numerous terms of his probation, including failing to report, failing to pay fines/fees, owing $394 in arrearages to the court, skipping alcohol and drug evaluation or attend the anger management classes.

There are currently two months and 29 days remaining on the sentence, and Norman’s probation officer demanded the singer’s probation revoked and he be re-sentenced in the case for his violations.

The judge came back and sided with the probation officer by revoking Norman’s probation. He sentenced the singer to 13 days in jail with credit for 5 days he already served – meaning he will be released next week. However, the judge also ordered he will have to pay the $394 fine and provide proof of attending the 12 Anger Management classes ASAP. Once he is released he will be back on his probation with all terms and conditions the same.

Kyle has publicly admitted that he has alcohol problems and has abused his wife in the past. We sincerely hope he gets it together, if he hasn’t already.

Now, he’s dealing with more drama from another woman – his baby’s mama, Tabitha Dumas…

The Lawsuit:

According to Bossip, Tabitha sued Kyle earlier this year, demanding more child support for their son Kye, born in 1999. It has been reported that Kyle has been a no-show for most of the court appearances. So, he was ordered to pay $575.00 a month back in 2008 after the judge made a default judgment. The decision was based off his income of more than $6,000 a month.

However, Tabitha believes his income has increased since then and that he owes her more than $50,000 from 2008 until now. She’s revealed he’s $53,910 behind. A judge ordered a child support increase from $597.00 to $897.00 and he was also ordered to pay an additional $103.00 a month toward the back child support payments he owed but to no avail. Now, Tabitha is demanding that he be thrown in jail until he pays up.

The Latest Motion:

On Oct. 24, Tabitha filed a motion demanding that he pay the full back child support amount, which has increased to $55,397. The growing amount now includes an additional $5,175.00 for 2016 since Kyle reportedly has not made one payment this year. According to the motion, Tabitha wants Kyle held in DeKalb County Jail until he makes the full payment.

Laaaawd, if Kyle knows what’s best for him, he’ll try to make nice with his baby-momma quick and do everything he can to pay whatever he can, before she gets her wish and locks him up until he pays up! Jailing him won’t financially benefit any of them though because a non-working man can’t be a bill paying man at the same time, but it can sure teach his a$$ a lesson…a lesson that Kyle Norman hopefully will NOT have to learn the hard way.

This time it’s JE member, Brandon Casey (one of the twins of the group), who’s gotten caught up in some controversy with a female, who has just gotten a restraining order against Casey after she said he and his crew did the unthinkable to her, which I hope isn’t true. Check out the details:

Via TMZ: One of the guys from Jagged Edge doesn’t want the party outside his house, if the party involves a kid on a skateboard … according to the kid’s mom, who says the singer and his crew beat her down. The woman is Brandon Casey’s next door neighbor, and in court docs she says a fight erupted in her driveway when someone in Casey’s house got pissed about her son skateboarding. The person apparently thought the kid was on Casey’s property.

The neighbor says a heated argument got amped up when 6 people ran out of Casey’s house and “began to pummel” her. She says her husband had to break up the brawl. She went to court to request, and was granted, a restraining order. Casey must now stay 25 feet away from the neighbor and her family. The woman says she’s been staying at a hotel for fear of another attack.

Not sure if the woman’s claims are true just yet, because at this point we haven’t seen ‘receipts’ to back up her claims. So we’ll have to sit back and see how this unfolds and in the meantime Casey will probably have to get lawyered up.

Last year (2015) Jagged Edge singer, Kyle Norman, viciously beat his wife, Marrika. Kyle also admitted that in addition to beating her, he choked her and he tried to make her swallow her engagement ring, by attempting to shove it down her throat.

It’s been about a year since that brutal incident and Kyle and his wife are back together. In fact, they were just dating when the attack happened, but immediately after the attack, Kyle asked Marrika to do what Jagged Edge’s song says and that was to “meet him at the altar in no time flat”…and Marrikka agreed.

We applaud the Kyle for willingly speaking out about what he did, BUT we do not applaud him for beating his wife- his Queen, whom he is supposed to protect and love unconditionally. So I think the only upside in this, is that it does take a real man to own up to his wrongs and at least Kyle did do that on national television for all of the world to witness and ridicule. Maybe one day, Marrika’s loved ones will be able to forgive him-but never forget. We wish Kyle the best with his road to redemption and his recovery from alcoholism and domestic abuse.

Well ILOSM fam,’ another day, another domestic violence case in the life of yet another celebrity. It happens.

Although it’s been a tough year, littered with abuse charges in the celebrity arena, it’s now hit one of our Old School 90’s singers, or rather it didn’t hit him, he’s the one who admittedly did the hitting…but maybe there’s light at the end of the tunnel. After being arrested for assault, this Jagged Edge singer has just married the woman he physically abused (yep you read that right). One thing we want to make clear is that we understand that love is subjective and although it’s oftentimes difficult to do- we shouldn’t judge, nor hold our own standards to what two people feel about each other, so we wish them the best.
