Remember the 1988 hit movie, Big, starring Tom Hanks? In case the movie doesn’t ring a bell, David Moscow played the character of young ‘Josh Baskin,’ who encounters a mysterious fortune-telling machine where he makes a wish. ‘Baskin’ wishes to be “big” and his wish is granted when he becomes an adult overnight. The adult version of ‘Josh Baskin’ is played by actor, Tom Hanks.

Why They Broke Up

While Moscow is mostly known for his role in the movie “Big”, he is also known for dating Kerry Washington. Kerry and David met in high school and started dating in 2002. They got engaged in October of 2004 and split up in February of 2007. According to Kerry, the decision to break up was mutual. In speaking with Essence magazine, she shared that their break up wasn’t focused on who made mistakes but that it simply wasn’t working. Despite the fact that their break up was mutual, it was still very painful.

“When we were planning the wedding, I didn’t even feel like picking out a dress,” Kerry shared with Essence. “But I didn’t rush things; I let my intuition guide me. We realized that even though we love each other on a very profound level, we were doing emotional gymnastics to try to work things out. We thought that instead, maybe we should walk away. Rashida Jones is makin’ major moves these days. According to Deadline, the daughter of iconic music legend Quincy Jones is now set to partner with Scandal’s Kerry Washington for a film adaptation of the female detective novel series, Goldie Vance. Now that 20th Century has acquired rights for Golden Vance, the film company is moving forward with the film. It has been reported that Washington will be producing the film with Jones writing and directing.

‘Goldie Vance’:

The ladies have reportedly teamed up with BOOM! Studios to bring the graphic novel series to life on screen. Both of the ladies are very excited about the new project and looking forward to putting their creative minds together. “I’m ecstatic to be collaborating with Rashida and BOOM! Studios on telling this story. Fox is the perfect home for this project. Goldie Vance will steal your heart. She’s already stolen mine!” Washington said.

Jones also chimed in. “Goldie is exactly the kind of fearless, curious, and funny heroine we need right now,” she said. “I’m so honored to partner with Kerry Washington, BOOM! Studios, and Fox to bring her world to life.”

‘Toy Story 4’:

The latest news follows Rashida Jones’ decision to suddenly quit PIXAR’s Toy Story 4. When Hollywood Reporter first reported the incident, there was no explanation for Jones and her writing partner Will McCormack’s sudden departure. It was reported that the ordeal centered around problems an assault report where John Lasseter was accused of “grabbing, kissing, making comments about physical attributes.”

On Nov. 21, Jones and McCormack released a statement. “We did not leave Pixar because of unwanted advances. That is untrue. That said, we are happy to see people speaking out about behavior that made them uncomfortable. We parted ways because of creative and, more importantly, philosophical differences.” They described Pixar as “a culture where women and people of color do not have an equal creative voice,” adding, “We encourage Pixar to be leaders in bolstering, hiring and promoting more diverse and female storytellers and leaders.” Disney declined to comment on the alleged incident involving Jones though a studio source said the departure was over “creative differences.”

Jones will still be credited as a writer for the fourth installment of Toy Story but that film is a thing of the past for her. She’s focused on moving forward with Goldie Vance.

In that interview, he confessed that “I was a piece of sh*t” as a husband to his now ex-wife, Malaak Compton. He also revealed that he’d cheated on her at least three times- once with a famous woman, another time with a semi-famous woman, and also with a non-celebrity female.

Of course everybody and their Mommas tried to determine who the famous woman is because surely we all must know her right? Well as of today, neither Chris, nor Kerry have stepped up to speak against the allegations, which in turn is causing the backlash toward them to run even more rampant. Meanwhile Chris is getting clobbered with backlash as well over a rumor that has yet to be confirmed.

The thing that raises eyebrows about this is that the alleged affair has been reported as having taken place for about 6 months, around the time of their 2007 film, when they had to spend time together for work. Another thing that’s raising eyebrows in many is that neither Rock, nor Washington have disputed such vicious rumors about them, which could also be due to Kerry’s dislike for publicly discussing personal matters. In a past interview with Essence she explained why:

“I learned through experience that it doesn’t work for me to talk about my personal life. I’ve had earlier times in my career when I did talk about it. I was on the cover of a bridal magazine. But I couldn’t just turn around and say, ‘I only want to talk about the good stuff, but not the bad stuff.’ So I just thought, OK, no more.”

Depending on how one interprets Kerry’s ‘no personal life talk,’ they could either conclude that (1) this falls right in line as to why she isn’t speaking about this new affair rumor, or (2) if the rumor about she and Rock are not true, then technically it would not be about her personal life, so technically she could and should speak out on it.

On a side note, both are in happy relationships now: Kerry’s married to her 35 year old ex-NFL hubby, Nnamdi Asomugha. Chris Rock is in a committed relationship with 33 year old actress, Megalyn Echikunwoke.

Affair or no affair, we’ve still got nothing but love for Chris Rock’s and Kerry Washington’s talents…both are incredibly gifted entertainers who’ve earned their spot in the entertainment game.
