Ever since Tamar Braxton split from her husband/manager, Vincent Herbert, dude has been going THROUGH it. First, there was his emergency health scare, resulting in his hospitalization soon after they went their separate ways. Now, there have been a plethora of money issues reported about Vince’s current financial status. The most recent being a $380,000.00 lawsuit that his former artists- rapper, Remy Ma, and pop star, Lady Gaga- have just been dragged into.

Why Remy Ma & Lady Gaga Were Forced To Cooperate In Lawsuit

A music label, called LDNX Records, originally hit Vincent with a $380K lawsuit, due to him owing money for prior business dealings with the company. In the label’s quest to try to collect their paper from Vince -who apparently didn’t respond to the court judgement he’d lost against them- LDNX subpoenaed his artists instead. The hope was that Remy Ma and Lady Gaga, still owed their former manager money, which could then be seized in order to pay the label.

Since Lady Gaga, nor Remy had previously responded to LDNX’s request in a timely manner, the label then demanded that both of the ladies, along with Vince and Interscope Records, be held in contempt of court, until they produce the necessary financial documents, regarding any money Vince is owed.

According to The Blast:

[LDNX] won a judgment against Vince in 2017 after suing him over a business deal gone south. They claim to have not been paid a dime from Vince and are trying to figure out the sources of his income so they can seize the money until the $380k is satisfied. LDNX accused Gaga, Remy and the record label of failing to provide complete and accurate answers to the information they demanded from the subpoena.

Lady Gaga eventually turned over the documents the label requested. While Remy Ma was a tad bit slower with producing the docs to aide Vince’s business ‘enemy.’  Nevertheless, she revealed interesting info about Vince’s financial dealings with her:

Via TB: Remy claims to have started working with [Vincent] Herbert in August 2017. She says they no longer work together, and they have no written contracts.

Remy says Herbert was only a temporary consultant and functioned as a personal manager for a short period of time. She hasn’t paid him a dime of anything for 6 months. The rapper also provided information on a Wells Fargo bank Herbert used when she paid him $56k in 2017. LDNX Records is now using that information to try to seize money in it.

The case is still pending, as LDNX Records continues to try to seek and seize any amount of money they can squeeze outta Vince’s accounts and pockets, until his $380K debt is paid in full.

Okay now back to that steamy sex scene, when we first saw it here at ILOSM, we all turned into “Grady” from Sanford N’ Son for a second, because we were all staring at the screen like “Good Goggly Goo!” In other words, Bassett and Gaga didn’t take no shorts, they gave their ALL in that sex scene and made it as R-rated as the possibly could for primetime TV.

Now here’s the kicker: Angela Bassett’s husband found out about her lesbian scene only when it came on TV. That’s right when we found out, is when Courtney B. Vance found out that his wife was on TV getting her freak on in between the sheets with another female and let’s just say he was a lil’ shocked by it. Here’s what Bassett told Conan O’Brien about this:

“What does your husband say when you come home from work and say, ‘I just did a sex scene with Lady Gaga’?” host Conan O’Brien asked. “Was he cool with it?”

“I don’t remember coming home and telling him that,” Bassett said, adding that she didn’t tell him about the original nudity waiver she had to sign to join the cast.

Although Bassett didn’t get naked on camera, she did end up sharing a bed with Gaga and a few steamy lip locks with her as well.

“I just, you know, waited until the night [the episode aired] and said, ‘Come on, I want you to see something!’ … And so I’m showing it, and I have the remote and he’s like, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, what’s about to happen?!’ I was like, ‘Well pause! What’s going on with you, are you going to be all right?’ ” Bassett explained.

“I just eased him into it,” she added, laughing.

Now that we’re over our initial shock of Angela doing a girl on girl scene with Gaga (the lesbian sex scene itself isn’t surprising, it’s just shocking that it was Bassett who did it…we just didn’t know she had it in her, LOL), what do you think ILOSM fam?’ Should Bassett have eased her husband into her scene little bit sooner, or was it just best to keep it on the low like she did?

Okay let’s just get right to it ILOSM fam’: the biggest shocker of them all at last night’s tribute: “Stevie Wonder: Songs in the Key of Life — An All-Star Grammy Salute,” was Lady Gaga! We didn’t know she had that much funk! In case you missed the show last night, our girl Gaga had the whole crowd on their feet with her rendition of Stevie’s “I Wish.” Now I know one of the last people you probably think of when you think of soul funk like Stevie’s, is Lady Gaga, but she showed everybody that she can definitely bring the noise in that department. Go ‘head Gaga!

Most people in our ILoveOldSchoolMusic community probably aren’t fans or followers of Lady Gaga’s pop music, but she showed last night that it’s one thing to create music and sell records, but it’s a whole other thing to pull from deep down in your soul that music that is just embedded in your roots, as she stated last night.

Stevie’s music has the ability to touch many walks of life and Gaga has clearly been extremely influenced by Mr. Wonder, because there’s no way she would have been able to take us to chuuurch the way that she did last night, had she not been. Taking us to chuuurch is the artists’ ability to reach out and grab whomever is listening with their emotion, their feelings; it’s their ability to make people catch the “holy ghost” like we say down south, or give folks goose bumps while their performing. Gaga zoned out during her performance and she took all of us watching with her. She didn’t care about how she looked, or nothing, she just cared about whatever the song made her feel and the craziest part of it all is that she was so much in a zone that she probably doesn’t remember everything that she did- she just felt it.

In order to accurately perform Stevie’s music, you have to be able to take us to chuuurch, in my humble opinion and Lady Gaga was the only one who did that in last night’s show…no disrespect to any of the other incredible artists on the show though, but I just have to call a Spade a Spade on this one.

Well no one else but Stevie took us there because of course NOBODY can “out-chuuurch” the one and only Stevie because he’s, well…Stevie! He brought the house down with his medley of classic hits.

Overall it was a beautiful thing to see a legend like Stevie being honored for what is one of the greatest albums ever created and also being celebrated for the massive amount of musical gems he’s graced us with for
